I missed going to Johnny's Shawarma so it was one of the first places I stopped when back on Toronto , and then Scarborough for a visit for the first time in 10 years. I've been going to Johnny's since he opened 20+ yrs ago when we both started businesses in the area. Still the same amazing Shawarma and food! Have sent many, many people his way. Johnny it was amazing seeing you, and the food was amazing as always.
I tried to eat it all. I really did. It was a huge portion and, as delicious as it was, I took half home. It was my first time here and I ordered the chicken/beef plate. The food, pop, and tip amounted to less than $20 after tax. The meat was flavourful, the tabbouleh was lemony and fresh, and the dips were authentic and home made. You won't go hungry here. Went there last night with a friend and had the best middle eastern food I’ve ever had. For context I love middle eastern food and always seek it out whenever I can and after trying dozens of spots in the GTA I can confidently say this is the best. Get the mixed platter as it will give you a taste of everything, and the samosas are great too. Service was quick and friendly, they even threw in a free baklava. Definitely will be coming back next time I’m in Scarborough.
