“Great dinner at Mandarin Yonge to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. This visit we tried a few new items fro the Small Eats. The teriyaki salmon, teriyaki meatballs and tofu were delicious. Salmon was cooked to perfection. As always Paddy and our server Amy made our evening extra special. Looking forward to our next visit.“
“Fabulous sushi with extremely friendly staff / owners! The menu is vast and the rolls are fresh and delicious. The special rolls are huge so definitely worth the extra cost. Everything we’ve had there is really greatKid-friendliness: They have kids chairs and kids chopsticks“
“This was the best dining experience of my life. The multidimensional balance of flavour, texture, and temperature was an experience that delighted the senses in a new way for me. We did the full omakase and sake pairing. It's worth every cent. Staff and service were perfectly refined and welcoming. Thanks Yasu!! I will return for sure“
“There are many fine sushi restaurants in the GTA and Kibo is a franchise chain, but it consistently delivers. Temper expectations to good sushi and maki at reasonable prices and it is worthy of a pretty solid review. Does it stand up to singular and dedicated sushi chefs? There is a reason why we have so many Michelin-rated Japanese and sushi restaurants locally. So Kibo isn’t competing with those … but it’s still good.“
“so far i’d say this is the best sushi i’ve had in toronto! very high quality ingredients, very reasonably priced for what you get. perfect portion sizes and they have lots of creative rolls! and the vegetarian options go way beyond the standard fare. the service is always incredibly friendly! extra points for the presentation always being beautiful and unique compared to other sushi places. i’ll always go here to pick up sushi for special occasions!“
“SAKU has been one of my favourite sushi spots for years. I'm so glad they are still around and offering great food and drink options! We recently stopped by for their Happy Hour special which is from 9pm til close. They have $6 sushi, apps, and $6 drinks and $10 cocktails! Incredible deal! The service was great and food hit the spot. I love all of the Neon lights and anime posters ?“
“We definitely enjoyed our meal at August 8. The food was aesthetically pleasing, tasty, and properly prepared.I rated the service only 4 out of 5 stars because our table was often overlooked, and we didn't receive all of our first order until we had asked three different servers (20 minutes after the first part of our order was delivered to the table) if it had been forgotten. They also only give you 90 minutes to eat lunch, 90 minutes goes very quickly, especially because they control the time in which they bring out your meals. Therefore you're not getting quite the value of your money, and feel as though you have to dine quickly. The restaurant is very clean, as are the washrooms (in my experience, this is usually Telltale sign whether or not the kitchen would be clean!)There are tons of food options, and from what I saw on our plates, as well as other tables the food comes out fresh.I would definitely recommend this restaurant.Ps, don't let your eyes be too big for your belly. If you don't finish the food on your plate, they will charge you extra for it. Drinks are also an additional cost to the "all you can eat" mealWheelchair accessibility: I don't imagine this restaurant would be wheelchair accessible as the only bathrooms that I saw were in the basement. Otherwise, a wheelchair could come in to the restaurant, but the area is tight with tables.“
“Koi Japan sushi was my first experience having pocket sushi! ?The service was really good, especially since we came on a chill day. We had the Koi lover for two. Which included : - 6 pcs of Pocket Sushi - Customer’s Choices- 2 Miso Soups- Takoyaki- House Salads for CAD $48.We thought it was a pretty good deal for two people. The soup, salad, and takoyaki were yummy and well proportioned. For the pocket sushi, I honestly don’t remember every single one but I remember that the spicy torched salmon was my favorite. As we ate the pocket sushi we were confused because it was cold, but I suppose that’s how it’s meant to taste which threw us for a loop. So, that left not the best impression of pocket sushi because it’s breaded and the bread was cold. So maybe if they heated it up for a while, it would be better but all in all I had a good experience. Check it out for yourself!“
“This has got to be the BEST Japanese Sushi place in Toronto! First time here and they did not dissapoint! Our server Jane was beyond our expectations! Great service Thank You! And the food was absolutely delicious not to mention the presentation.“
“I recently dined at a sushi restaurant that left me truly impressed. The freshness of the food was unparalleled; each piece of fish tasted like it was just caught moments before being served. The precision in which the rice was cooked was remarkable, achieving the perfect texture and flavor to complement the fish. However, what truly set this restaurant apart was the service. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. From recommending dishes to promptly refilling drinks, their professionalism and friendliness were exceptional.Overall, I highly recommend this sushi restaurant for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of fresh, delicious food and outstanding service makes it a standout choice.“
“First ever omakase experience and it did not disappoint. Favourite part was most definitely the sushi round which served individual pieces at a time to patrons. Each sushi was unique to its own with specific ingredients procured from different regions of the world. Time passed by too quickly as I could’ve eaten more. Given the process of serving food, dining etiquette was at first confusing for a first time noob like myself but I quickly adapted to the experienced patrons near me. The staff here is also exceptionally kind as my wife mentioned it was my birthday and the chef presented me an extra piece of sushi with a candle. Turns out you can also let them know ahead of time and they’ll generously prepare a piece of birthday cake. All in all it was a great experience and a definite recommendation for sushi lovers and foodies alike.“
“Got the Maki sushi and sashimi platter and it was pretty good! We appreciated the miso soup and salad that was included. The selection of rolls and sashimi was pretty good as well. In terms of fish quality, I would say it was pretty average. Not amazing but definitely still good tasting, although one of the sashimi (the torched one? not sure what fish) was SUPER tough and dry and chewy. Also, we are not gluten-free or vegan but it's really cool that this restaurant offers those options!Overall, enjoyed our meal! ?“
“This is the best! The premium menu was perfect; food was delicious and fresh, and the place is nice and spacious. The best of all was the staff though. They are super nice and helpful, and they are always around to help. Definitely will come back with my friends!!!“
“Chotto Matte is a must try. The food was absolutely amazing. The Amazonian salmon is a culinary masterpiece, the wagyu beef gyoza magnificent, the tempura shrimp were amazing with the sauce provided, while the spicy chicken karaage wasn’t great flavor wise the texture was a bit off putting it was perfectly crunchy on the outside but a bit slimy on the inside, the pineapple pomegranate duck breast was delicious - extremely flavorful, though we were not a fan of the pork and shrimp gyoza they eagerly replaced them with another wagyu beef gyoza. The service is outstanding. The wait staff and busser were extremely attentive, our water glasses didn’t stay empty long the moment they notices they refilled without prompting and finished plates were removed from the table.“
“i love this place, it’s so good!!! and they recently redid their menu to be smaller and less expensive, which is incredible. i love the variety in the boxes. i’m from vancouver so i have big sushi opinions lmao and there’s not much in toronto that really cuts it, but this place is unique and affordable and way better than lots of toronto sushi. we got the tasting box (my favourite), the spicy lover, and beef gyoza (which are better than pork imo i’m not a huge fan of pork)“
“Discovering this quaint restaurant was an absolute delight! Despite its size, the quality of every dish surpassed our expectations. Each ingredient tasted remarkably fresh, a testament to the chef's commitment to excellence. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the warmth and hospitality of the owner. Their genuine kindness added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure. It's the kind of place you can't help but share with friends, knowing they'll appreciate the exceptional dining experience as much as you did.“
“A friend of mine told me to stop at J San for some sushi. I have to admit the sushi combo 211 I ordered was really fresh. And I liked the seafood selection they have for sale, good stuff. Overall, all the tables and the washroom were clean. But there was a couple flies I believe from that Zz plant that were flying over my head and food constantly.Parking: Parking is across the street and 3 hours free for restaurant customers. Don't park on the street.“
“That's my favourite restaurant in Toronto! They have amazing sushi and Mexican with affordable prices. The sushi quality is comparable with the very famouse sushi places in the city and the pressed sushi is the best I've tried. I can't recommend enought this place.“
“If you want to dine in a big restaurant where you can get big serving sizes and see servers and other customers pass by you then this is not your place. This restaurant offers private and personal dining experience that is hard to find in Toronto. The restaurant is small with only 9 seats. We dined with another couple and each group got one server and the host was also taking care of us. The service is excellent and meeting my expectations. We tried the spring menu this time and I love the aged blue fin tuna, squid, monkfish liver, and Hokkaido sea urchin. The portion size is small but you can't feel hungry as you get many dishes. The food is high in quality and sourced from Japan. The chef skills are amazing and he has a great sense of humor. I will definitely comeback to try the menu in different seasons. Thank you team, you guys did a great job!“
“Amazing amazing. Amazing!!!! My gf took me here for my birthday and this was the best sushi I’ve eaten outside of Japan and I’ve eaten at many sushi places in Toronto over the years. For the price and quality you can’t beat this - the servers are even Japanese. Amazing premium nigiri we ordered was definitely worth paying more for premium. Service amazing and just wanted to say thanks as it was my birthday and they served me ice cream and cheesecake. Can’t wait to come back!!! Thanks Shibui!!!“
“Every dish was fresh, and the sushi in particular was exceptionally flavorful. The staff were extremely friendly and showed great consideration for their customers. The atmosphere and quality of service were truly impressive. I highly recommend Kibo Sushi and would give it five stars without hesitation!“
“Amazing sushi restaurant. Excellent quality ingredients, good fish to rice ratio and they even gave me some free spring rolls on my first order! One thing to note: the spicy salmon roll is actually spicy (although not incredibly so) so if you are sensitive to spice may want to opt for their non-spicy rolls. 5 stars!Vegetarian options: Yam, veggie and cucumber rolls“
“For years I’ve had my out of neighbourhood favourites. I couldn’t exactly find one in highpark I was as in love with. Until now! Great for people living around highpark as it’s walking distance. Made my order over the phone before taking the dogs out and it was ready when arrived. I ordered dynamite special and gyoza. Total was 20$. The special came with a salad and soup. Everything was tasty and very fresh. Can’t wait for the patio to reopen.“
“What a delightful dining experience! We tried the spring tasting menu, which was delicious and great value at $50 per person for five courses and an alcoholic drink. They also offer premium add-ons at half price. I loved the tatakis and baked lobster tail the most. Our server, Jennifer, was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful, making it a perfect place for a date night!“
“It’s a must go if you are in Toronto or near the Chefs Hall, located in a quiet and cosy corner, Iwami gave us a fantastic lunch experience. Everything is so fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Tommy the Chef is so passionate about cooking and serving the clients, his creativity and talent are well demonstrated in the selection of ingredients and different layers of flavor. Highly recommended for casual lunch or dinner. Will go back for sure next time when I am in Toronto.“
“Amazing food , amazing waitress , amazing atmosphere We have been here for the first time and definitely recommend this place.Everything was so tasty and the lady that attended us was super friendly ❤️❤️❤️Love it, love it, love it !!“
“Braved a snowstorm for sushi and was not disappointed! Super fresh, packaged nicely, delicious and great value for the prices. Indulged in miso soup, seaweed salad, torched salmon and California rolls. I got takeaway, but peeked into their seating area and super modern and clean aesthetic. Will definitely be back again for my next sushi fix! ? ?“
“I have to highlight that the customer service is definitely excellent, they were always friendly and very attentive, In addition to the fact that the portions are large and everything is very delicious, we ordered sashimi and everything is very fresh and with large pieces. The sushi roll is delicious, I will definitely return to this place and be a frequent customer.“
“I moved downtown a couple months ago and ordered via delivery at least once a month.Hands down best everyday sushi spot downtown. I recommend the aburi scallop roll! Now that the weather is nice I ordered for pick up this weekend and the staff were super friendly!“
“I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for many years now and everything always meets expectations. Servers are always friendly, the food is always delicious, and it's such a cozy place. The sushi, gyoza, and noodles never disappoint.“
“I only ended up here because the staff down the street at Kyouka was so unwelcoming and rude. Here, the woman behind the sushi bar was smiling and saying hello before I even had the door all the way open.I read another review that mentioned it’s a family run business - and their customer service is excellent. The tonkastu ramen was delicious. All the staff, including the sushi chef, were super lovely.Go here.“
“Our family has been going here for close to 10 years now, and throughout those years we never had any negative experiences.I can vouch for the whole menu, everything they make is top notch. The sushi and the rolls, we have yet to find any that come close in comparison. The environment is nice and cozy - perfect for family outings or dates with your special other.I can't but sing praises about this place. It's a gem that's kind of hidden away.“
“This is a place to have a quality conversation. Over one of the most affordable Omakase offerings in the city.Omakase, Google it, I was born a few blocks from here and am not Japanese - but the set course meal, chosen by the chef and artfully plated over the course of the evening is perfect for;- a real business meeting- a human conversation with a friend- a romantic meal, quality timeThis is a highly sensory food experience, not garish grocery store maki rolls with cream cheese in them.Again if you compare their creative offerings, Aburi torched sushi, exquisite sashimi, the lobster miso - it’s an experience and is competitively priced. The location is near the Osgoode subway, around the corner from the Four Seasons Arts Center, the Scotiabank Cinema and there is good paid parking nearby.A secret spot for business lunches due to its unassuming exterior. The service and atmosphere are as advanced as the food.If you respect real sashimi, if you’re looking for an Omakase spot, give it a shot.Parking: This is a one way street so you can’t park “out front”, but there are paid safe secure parking lots nearby way better than street parking.“
“Always reliable for fresh, delicious food. For the first time in the two years we’ve been ordering, something went haywire in our delivered order. After a quick chat, they were quick and apologetic to fix the issue. We will keep going back!“
“Was looking for a new source of tasty kimbap near work. Mission accomplished! Took a bit of effort to locate the food court, but now I know and will definitely come back. Kimbap was delicious, fresh, and tasted like home made with love. Should have taken a photo but ate it too quickly! A great find!“
“Lola Sushi has become my go-to spot since I moved into the neighborhood a year and a half ago. Whether it's takeout or dining in with family, the experience is always exceptional. It’s a cosy little spot offering a warm and genuine service, making it my preferred choice in the area. Their menu features an extensive selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, and Bento boxes, alongside enticing Korean and Japanese options. Plus, their prices are reasonable. Lola Sushi as a standout gem in the neighborhood dining scene.“
“I'm conflicted about leaving this review. The dishes we chose were succulent, offering fabulous explosions of flavors. However, I experienced symptoms that could be likened to food poisoning just 1-2 hours after dining, though my partner was unaffected, so I can't say for sure it was the food. The restaurant was very very warm (my face was burning!), yet ironically, the bathroom was freezing. Also, be prepared for a hefty bill; the portions are small, and we ended up ordering at least six different dishes to share between two, a glass of wine and a cocktail (for a total of 560$). Despite these issues, the service was absolutely perfect.“
“Offering a wonderful variety of beautifully presented Japanese dishes including certain options like fish roe and scallops which are not typically offered elsewhere, this restaurant provides not only a tasty affordable experience, but also a unique one!“
“We were in Toronto to catch a show on College street. We came here before hand to have some sushi and a couple beers and we were both blown away. A small intimate space with wonderful food and service.Wheelchair accessibility: The only concern would be that the bathrooms are located downstairs making it not accessible to those with wheelchairs“
“Vegan sushi deserves much more recognition here in Toronto, tenon sushi is a good beginning but quite not what I had in other cities. Not sure why the restaurant was so empty, food was good and the server was lovely. My favorite was the tenon special roll! They have a very extensive menu, and it’s nice to have so many vegan options (not so many gluten free ones though)Overall we had a nice dinner and we definitely want to go back and try more stuff from the menu.“
“We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. The quality of fish was excellent. We appreciate the attention to detail the restaurant adds to their dishes (fried garlic on sushi, please keep doing this…it’s very tasty!)Order for 2:- Sushi boat - comes with sashimi, sushi and rolls- Torched salmon was absolutely great way to end the mealCan’t wait to back here again. Staff is attentive and always greeting you with a smile! You can tell this place is a locals favourite, there were many walk ins and pickups while we we were dining in.“
“Extremely delectable foods and excellent presentation, very clean, superb service from all of the staffs, very impressive on how they tell you about each food on how and what’s made off! Overall me and my husband were very satisfied with our first dining experience here at Miku. We will surely go back again Special thanks to our server Kevin, he’s amazing!“
“I was just at Harriet’s this past Friday and had amazing service! From the moment we walked in everyone was super friendly and made sure we had the best time (and we didn’t have a reservation - but highly recommend doing so!) The drinks were delicious and the food was spectacular! Will definitely be back soon in the “
“Came here for lunch. I was about to go to Impact Kitchen which is around the corner but their veggie wrap was $13.99. At INJapan I got a whole bento set for $14.63 (that includes tax)! It is such good value for money. The service was fast and the food is good for this type of quick service style restaurant.“
“Absolutely phenomenal sushi. Probably the best spot I've tried in the east end. I'm just upset it took me two years in the neighborhood to try it.Great service - the chef made us a tempura spicy salmon appetizer that was incredible. We had toro, maki, chirashi, and gyozo - all were delicious.“
“I love this place so much, I go here every week for sushi. Once I first tried it a few years ago I’ve never looked back or gone anywhere else in the city. Their food is delicious, massive portions, great prices. Best sushi joint in the city“
“I ate my fill of quality sushi/rolls at an affordable price. I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant like this since I've been here They're really friendly and I'm very satisfied with the price and quality overall, so I think I'll go there often!“
“would give it more stars if i could! the sushi bar is within a super clean & well organized convenience store, with bar seats available! my order was made on the spot in minutes! was so fresh & delicious. definitely restaurant quality. they also have some premade roles for those in a hurry. highly recommend for anyone looking for healthy & affordable meal option“
“Tried their Eglinton location recently having been in their Spring Garden location previously for takeout. The food was decently portioned but a bit pricey. Their more unique offerings are their Wafu Pasta and Nori Tacos, alone with their Aburi Sushi offerings. The Sukiyaki Pasta was unique in blending Sukiyaki (a traditional Japanese dish) with Italian pasta.Service was decent during a weekend lunch and were fairly courteous in checking in with us. Overall, it’s a unique spot to get some Japanese fusion-style offerings outside of sushi.“
“I’m not vegetarian but after eating here I easily could be converted. The food was delicious. The Torched and Pressed roll is too good to miss!! We ate there two days in a row. Please open a location in Niagara!!Vegetarian options: All plant based and delicious!!!“
