“Got sushi from here for my birthday and everything tasted AMAZING! Easily the best sushi in Bend. The volcano roll was my favorite, and the Edison was a close second. The burrito roll may seem a little menacing, but tasted surprisingly fresh and had a great selection of ingredients!“
“My husband and I love this place! The fish is always super fresh and the presentation is beautiful. The waitstaff is fantastic and very accommodating. As someone who reacts to gluten, I really appreciate the option to have almost anything on the menu made gluten-free. (They even have a gluten-free "unagi sauce" which is delicious!) Grateful to have a go-to sushi restaurant that is consistently good.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options“
“Juno (inside podski right next to the bar) is likely the best sushi in central Oregon. Since moving out from Denver where we were spoiled with Sushi Den, Juno has been our go-to for excellent quality sushi with creative rolls and many locally sourced ingredients to help make it a little more sustainable. The Oishii and Ohanami rolls are some of our favorites, and our toddler loves the miso soup.Their hours can vary so we typically check their FB page to verify they’re open.“
“This place is really great. The dining ambience is great and comfortable. There is a lot of staff and they are fast and friendly. The food is is really tasty and they have gluten free options on many of the dishes which we require in my family. There is a higher price/smaller that other restaurant options, but I feel the quality makes up for this and the fact that they offer gluten free options and great dining experience, outweighs price.I definitely recommend.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options which make it easy to dine with family members with restricted diets.“
“I don't normally write reviews, however, my experience last night at Kanpai was so exceptional I felt it was necessary. I have never tried this restaurant specifically, and saw some reviews that were negative.I would just like to say, most of the reviews I've seen below about the quality, appearance, amount of food etc., are all baseless. These negative reviews are most likely the reviews of Karens with fast-food palates. My experience (Omakase), was absolutely mind blowing. My wife and I left quite full, and content. The head chef was not only friendly and enthusiastic about what he was making, but he also told us his vast experience making sushi and cooking over 20 years. He deserves to be recognized as a chef as every course he brought out was absolutely delicious. Every course had a perfect balance of seasoning, texture, acidity, savory, you name it.I would love to come back and try it again soon since every day the head chef creates a new menu in his head to try, and has countless recipes to bring a new culinary experience.“
“My grandson turned 18 and he wanted sushi. This place was at his request. Everything we ordered was really good right down to the hot green tea. They even brought out a free dessert with a candle. Here’s to delicious sushi and celebrations! Thanks Shinsei!“
“The food is good but the portions are a bit on the small side for the price. We've tried a lot of different options here and have always liked the sushi but it's pretty basic and haven't been blown away but it's good for a food truck. They are always kind and provide good service. It's a sushi food truck in Bend so set your realistic expectations and give them a try.“
“Very stoked to have good, fresh seafood available up in Tumalo at The Bite! I've tried several of the gluten-free poke bowls and sushi rolls and really enjoyed them all. For especially friendly service, visit them at the Midtown Yacht Club location. (Frank, aka "Pops" is the BEST!) These guys get slammed with online and in-person orders so sometimes they can be a bit short/rushed, but overall the food is good quality and I appreciate that they work hard to get things right.“
“Always amazing! Whether the sushi or their seaweed salad and miso soup, never disappointed. What's even more amazing as their in house sauces are gluten free, and you can rewwust gluten free soy sauce, all of which I've never experienced. Being able to not have my sushi options limited (except tempura) is amazing. Only thing is price which could be better.Vegetarian options: Good selection of veggie rolls, veggie appetizers, etc.Dietary restrictions: Most of their sauces are gluten free, and you can request gluten free soy sauce“
“This is one of our go to takeout dinners in Bend. Consistent, delicious, on time, and convenient. I get the Northwest Crossing Bowl, and my wife gets the Tyler Bowl. Staff is always courteous and friendly. Never can figure out how they slice the avocados so beautifully.“
