Ambrosia's culinary experience was truly exceptional. The Rosemary-infused bread, paired with the olive oil and balsamic dip, showcased a perfect harmony of flavors, even for someone not typically fond of olives, like myself. To complement the exquisite meal, we indulged in a glass of Pinot Grigio, elevating the overall dining experience. Ambrosia proved to be a haven for culinary enthusiasts, leaving me in awe of their skillful preparation and attention to detail. The Chicken Parmesan, a highlight, exhibited culinary finesse. The robust tomato sauce enhanced the natural essence of the tomatoes, creating a delightful symphony of flavors. The dim, romantic ambiance added an extra layer of charm, creating an ideal setting for a memorable date with my fiancé. Ambrosia's garlic noodles served as a delightful side to my Chicken Parmesan, enhancing the overall dining experience. The complimentary bread and dip provided while waiting for our meal showcased the restaurant's thoughtful attention to detail, setting the stage for the culinary delights to come. Every element of the meal, from the appetizing bread to the robust Chicken Parmesan, reflected Ambrosia's commitment to delivering a truly exceptional dining experience. Ambrosia's culinary excellence was complemented by the attentive service of our waitress. Skillfully managing the upper seating portion with 5-6 tables of varying group sizes, she worked the floor with precision. Her politeness and exceptional service at our table added a personal touch to the overall dining experience, enhancing the evening at Ambrosia. The seamless coordination between the delectable cuisine and top-notch service truly set this restaurant apart.

I struggled to decide to give this a two or three star review. My husband and I had a reservation at 6:45 for my 40th birthday which we were on time for. When we came in we said we had a reservation at 6:45 and were told by an older gentleman working the host table that they were running late and could we take a seat at the bar to wait for a table. We did so and after about 20-25 minutes, I decided to check in again about our table. There was a different host there the second time and she said she didn't know we'd arrived and they considered us a no show. She apologized and said it would be another 20-30 minutes. I asked if we could order our food then so it could be ready when we were seated and she said no, and not only that, if we had any tab we would have to close that at the bar, to which I'd told her we'd already paid with cash for a drink a piece. About 10 minutes later, she must have pulled some strings and got us seated, which I appreciate. We ordered food at our table and I also ordered a Moscow Mule. Apparently they don't have fixings for that drink because it was in a glass instead of copper with no ginger beer. It was basically a lightly lemon flavored cocktail, and I'm guessing the person that made it just wasn't sure what that drink entails. At this point, everyone is being nice and kind and doing their best, so I did not complain. Our food took another hour to be served so you would think the food would be hot. My lasagna was piping hot but so full of salt, I couldn't eat more than a quarter of it. My husband had the lamb and it was very cold. He ate some of it but the flavors were decent. We reported the temperature issue. They offered to reheat the food which we declined since we'd been there so long at that point and goodness knows how long that would have taken. The server was apologetic and offered a free dessert, which we again declined since it was nine by then, so we'd been there for almost 2 1/2 hours at this point. The server took the cost of my husband's meal off the check which was a very nice surprise. Overall, the food was not great and the drinks were not great. Otherwise, the server was nice and accommodating and the ambiance was nice too. I don't think I would go here again by my choice. They appear to lean heavily on the ambiance and not enough on the quality of the food and drink as well as overall organization of the front of house.

I’m sure this place is beautiful inside and out. I speak to the waiters sometimes when they’re outside, but this place seems very classy and I hear the food is superb. Hopefully on date night I’ll be able to go there one day.

Food great, service outstanding all in an atmosphere of times gone by. The wine dinners are great. The one we went to this past Monday evening was the best. Featuring wines from Italy (my favorite) and the paired food dishes were outstanding.

Good food , good service, pricey. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and would be great for a romantic date night.

The inside of this restaurant is huge. Bar area is really cute. Our server was very friendly. The menu has a great variety of pizza, pasta, appetizers, calzones, and more. Food does take a minute to come so maybe get some appetizers! The meal was filling but not the best Italian I have tried.

It is actually a nice restaurant. Service was very good and the place was clean and classy.Food, on the other hand, was not that great for the price. We had the antipasto dish that was good. The calamari was kind of tasteless.I got the Halibut. The portion size was good, and the presentation was ok. The surface of the fish was leathery because it was overdone. The inside was ok and moist, but you could not cut the crust with your fork. Not good in my book. The wild rice could have looked bette, but the taste was good.Good variety of wines and the drinks were good and loaded. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. And the maitre de also did a fine job.

We were seated at a beautiful table and our hopes were high. The menu looked promising, the drinks were on spot. We ordered the "lobster" cakes which could have been anything from the ocean but sadly they were barely warm on the inside. We also ordered the pear and walnut salad. C'MON! Do something with the walnuts dude. Thanks for toasting them but this was just dull. We split an entree of Veal Marsala because the Gnocchi was not available. Cold, Marsala barely detectable, needed salt (had to ask for it as it's not offered at the table which is presumptuous, right?) Service.... Perfunctory and not too interested in our night. We heard another waitperson across the way who very enthusiastically informed her table of the specials (we had to ask), checked on her table and didn't appear rushed. We'll keep looking for a better Italian Restaurant in Eugene but this is far from a contender. If you read from fellow disappointed customers it appears like they share a high level of culinary background. Your "chefs" could use the same.

Quaint antique furnishings, mismatched chairs & silverware all add to the comfortable vibe. The food is consistently amazing, and the staff, some of whom have been there as long as I can remember, always exceed expectations. If you haven't tried Ambrosia, go there. Tonight. You will be pleasantly surprised. Get there early for the steamer clams.

After hearing such good things about ambrosia, I was excited to spend my birthday eating some wonderful food. Was seated in the corner near the kitchen, which I didn’t personally mind but my boyfriend found to be annoying as staff was constantly coming in and out of the loud kitchen. Was certainly not the atmosphere I was anticipating. We ordered drinks, I had a glass of red wine and he ordered a chocolate Martini both of which were delicious. But my rating comes from the food we were served. With the menu prices being on the higher side, I was expecting the food to be at least well prepared. The bruschetta was overwhelming garlicky and too spicy for my boyfriend to eat. My seafood ravioli, while the sauce was delicious, was undercooked and cold in the center. There were random pieces of fettuccine mixed into my ravioli??? My partners beef stroganoff lacked any flavor - it quite literally tasted like pasta in a bed plain cream. The beef chunks were way overdone. And worst of all we both spent the next day in bed from the after effects of this food. Stomach aches, vomiting, headaches. The one redeemable part of our visit was the tiramisu which was delicious. If you’re planning on visiting ambrosia I would skip dinner and go for dessert. A wildly unpleasant meal for all the hype surrounding this place.

Great atmosphere and the service was great. I ordered the lasagna and I would rather eat frozen lasagna from Walmart. My wife had veal, and it was tough and chewy. She became sick later that night as well.

Always love this place! Both had the special that night of the seafood pasta! Wasn't that classic thick cream sauce, but rather a white wine sauce. Big chunks of lobster and tasty scallops!Needless to say, there wasn't anything left! They were able to accommodate us despite not calling ahead for reservations. It does get busy, so plan ahead. The rack of lamb, the Filet, and other dishes brought by our table going to other customers looked absolutely mouthwatering!
