We stayed at 3 different small inns in Eugene and I slept best at the Excelsior Inn. The bed and room (Puccini) were so comfortable. We loved the landscaping. The art on the hallway walls, much of which was for sale, was a nice touch. The coffee at breakfast was the best of our trip. Everything was impeccable. If you’re looking for European refinement, this is it.

This quaint boutique inn in Eugene, Oregon is in an early 20th century building in the Italian style. The Inn is well-appointed with period furnishings and artwork and the rooms are well maintained eventhough the building is old. Unfortunately, at checkin, there is an unusual clause of legalise that requires you to give the Inn owner permission to put any charge on your credit card that they think is required. This is not fair, reasonable, nor necessary. We stay at a lot of hotels and have never seen a hotel signature sheet as onerous as this one. At a minimum, all those booking this hotel online should be warned about this very unusual commitment that must be made when staying at this Inn.

Unfortunately we just called and the person who answered said the restaurant is permanently closed as of today, Feb 13 due to staffing issues (they were supposed to permanently close as of Feb 28). So sad to hear after their long tenure in Eugene.I’ve generally had good experiences here over the years. The food was always really unique and flavorful.

Thank-you to the staff at Excelsior for all the wonderful times we have had there since (about) 1975. Our 50th wedding anniversary, our children's 51st birthday dinner, and more birthdays and anniversaries than we can remember. What wonderful memories we have.

We had a excellent experience, great service, great food. Nothing but the best. We drive 150 miles for dinner at least once a year here. Thanks for always being on the top of your game.

All Hype overpriced food, overrated drinks snotty people.Made reservations weeks in advance for a special occasion as I was looking forward to going there. so we walked in there as there were 4 parties of people dining outside. So we decided to eat inside. As we walked inside the restaurant was very nice but empty. I noticed there were many empty tables and just several partys having dinner The older woman there standing to the left of the counter with the snobby face looked at us and asked me if we had reservations.Yes of course I gave them my name. And she told the younger host to take us to a certain seat. Well it was clear across the restaurant not in a nice location with a small table with uncomfortable chairs. What the hell is this as I really wanted to leave at this point. I ask if I could be moved to another table as this was a special occasion. We were moved to another table. Which was in a nicer area. Several minutes later a party of 4 people came and were seated in the same area but nicer seating and they ordered there food and were catered to immediately. As there food , drinks were given. I really was very upset and uncomfortable with this service as I tried not to let this bother me as we were truly being ignored. Finally our our drinks and food which took almost an hour arrived. Thank you so much for now I can say there was nothing memorable or anything good to recommend about this business, save you money As I will never go back there again.

Lovely room, lovely staff, lovely restaurant. Perfect location for anyone visiting campus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay a few years ago, and I will always come back to stay here when I visit Eugene.

We stayed in the Bach jacuzzi suite for an out of town date night. The inn & room itself were beautiful. However - our stay was ruined by the loudness of the upstairs and next door neighbors. I understand this is an inn not a hotel, however for the price of $300 per night you would think that there would be better insulation or sound proofing between the rooms. I slept with the fan on and ear plugs in and could still hear the television thru the wall late into the night and early the next morning. Our stay was neither romantic nor relaxing because of this. Our toilet also ran non stop, and the remote to the tv didn't work so we had to get up to change the volume or channel - neither which are big deals, but again it speaks towards the lack of relaxation, and for the price, I expect nearly no complaints. We won't return. Next time I will stay home where it's quiet, or stay in a chain hotel for half the price that has appropriate sound proofing between rooms to ensure guests have a relaxing stay.

We went to dinner here...OMG....It was outstanding...if you're looking for a very nice place for a dinner night out, this is it.

Very quaint and classy restaurant. Service was excellent! The food was prepared well and taste great! Excellent chef!!!! Only negative would be price considerations in relation to the quantity of food. Appetizers were a bit expensive and quantity close to an entree while the entree's were a bit small for the asking price. I will definitely be visiting here again! Great place for a romantic evening, just be prepared for the $$$$

Exquisite, both in quality and service. The dining room is thoughtfully decorated. The Chef/owner grows much of the vegetables at his farm. Very finesed and realized. We look forward to our next visit. We stayed at the Inn and our room was perfect.

I know most restaurants have trimmed their menus due to the recent economic conditions, but I think the Excelsior Inn has gone a bit too far. I had reviewed their menu online and was looking forward to the dinner. The actual menu, however, was far, far less than advertised. Again, I understand a limited menu, but I really found the menu to be much too limited. No real selections for a high-end restaurant. We won't be back unless and until we know that the menu is back to some semblance of normal. By the way, we have one other restaurant that did the same thing and we won't be returning there until the menu improves. I just think the Excelsior has gone too far.

We had not been to The Excelsior for approximately 29 years. Our previous experience had not been very good. On a whim We decided to try it again. We were delightfully surprised. It was a very enjoyable evening. Food, service as well as ambiance was wonderful. New will definitely be back.

The food and drink was amazing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable to help with our selections as needed. The only drawback is parking as they do not have their own (unless you are staying at the Inn part). Be prepared to walk a couple blocks. Just the same, it is worth it as they do deliver a higher end dining experience.

Holiday dinner with friends. Everyone loved their meal. We each ordered a dessert and shared. The Holiday Dome was our favorite. They were busy, and the service was still very good.
