The food at Mely's is everything that places like Taco Bell and Don Pedro's is not: Like good, authentic Mexican food. Don't come here if you expect everything to be covered in red sauce, cheese and sour cream. But if you do, try the tacos. They are the best in the county. You'll be glad you did. Outdoor eating at a great price.
A great little Mexican food cart. A good change up in the area it is at when you need a change from Don Pedro or Ochoa's. I have had burritos from Mely's twice and the extremely good sopes three times. The carne asada is good and meaty not fatty or nasty. The sopes shells are good and mealy in a good way with almost a homemade tortilla chewiness to them. The crema mexicana drizzled on top is cool and refreshing. We were en route to Seaside from PDX late at night. My aunt made us drive a few miles out of the way to stop at this taco truck. Boy am I glad she did! I ordered the carne asada empanada. It came with shredded lettuce, cotija cheese, salsa and sour cream. I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food (can't beat momma's home cooked meals). I was very impressed with this place. The seasoning was spot on and the ladies running the truck were very friendly!
