“This is my daughter and my favorite restaurant. The service is always wonderful and friendly, and the food is consistently delicious. We have been going to Chens for over 6 years and we will continue to go whenever we want our comfort food favorites;. We love the staff and they always treat us like VIPs. My daughter learned to use chopsticks here at 4 years old and now she is a pro! We love our friends at Chens Dynasty!“
“The service was great the staffs all seem friendly, however, even when they didn’t have customers rather than going out and cleaning the tables which were all really dirty, they stayed behind the counter, chatting with each other. So unfortunately, when our food was ready, we had to wipe down our own table with a napkin before we could even sit to eat. The place was really dirty and needed some attention. There was even a chair with a plastic thing on it, blocking the hall to the bathrooms! So we could not even use the bathroom and wash our hands before sitting down to eat. ?“
“Planned to have Asian cuisine and found this restaurant in the heart of Salem. Very close to Oregon State Capitol. Our waitress was a very nice lady and the owner was also sweet. We got the grilled mackerel and garlic fried chicken. The mackerel was good but oily. Overall good food and great prices! They also provided us sweet oranges at the end of the meal :)“
“Stopped in while driving through town and so glad we did. Probably the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting and the place was clean. We ordered a bunch of different dishes and I can't wait to eat all the leftovers! They also have pictures of each dish on the menu which makes it easier to pick what looks good to you.“
“I have only ever ordered from DoorDash but this restaurant is INCREDIBLE. Truly the best Chinese food I have ever had in my life. The BBQ pork is to die for! The food always comes so carefully packaged and delivered in a box so all the containers with liquid are solid and okay to travel.“
“I love this place. I always see mixed reviews on Facebook but I've yet to have a bad experience. The ladies are always kind when I come to get my take out. I love that they serve Thai tea. My favorite go-to order is the General Tso's chicken with fried rice as well as the crab puffs. I'm definitely going to be back again as well as looking forward to trying more things.“
“Not a bad place, for those looking for vegetarion/vegan food, its in the brown menu, not the black menu.Vegetarian options: Its about half the main menu in a diffrent more specified menu, the ones with a V are vegan the rest are vegetarian on that menu.“
“Tried this place today for the first time. I got the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. I also added the egg flour soup. The soup is DELICIOUS! They put just a tad bit of crab in it, and it really brings out a ton of flavor! The chicken was crispy but also tender. A perfect balance of sweet and sour for the sauce. However they cook the rice, is superb! Not greasy at all, no MSG and the veggies tasted so fresh! The lady that served us was incredibly nice and welcoming. Punctual and easy to talk with. Food was so good, I ordered take out for dinner and got it before we left!Blessings to this business and I look forward to filling my stomach again and enjoying wonderful smiles while dining in.“
“This is maybe the best Asian restaurant in Salem. Their portions are great, and the owners are extremely personable. The food is delicious, and never leaves you feeling heavy. My wife and I go here all the time and grab their daily specials, but there are many other great things in the menu! I highly recommend this little know spot in Salem. Give it a shot; you won’t be disappointed.“
“I have been to many Chinese restaurants around South Salem and on the edge near Keizer, and this place has stood out to me as the best one yet. I'm not sure how it could get better. The food is as excellent as the prices and portion sizes are. The people are quite friendly and seem to remember their customers, even if you just barely started becoming a regular. It's not been very busy whenever I've been in to pick up take-out or eaten in the restaurant, so it's always been a quiet place to enjoy a meal.I'm a big lo mein and fried rice fan, and it's quite hard to find a place that does both so dang well. Everytime I try someplace new, I just wish I had gone here instead. Aside those dishes, the all-day combinations offer some great choices but #2 with the Chicken Sub Gum and the Sweet and Sour Chicken is amazing as well. The SOSC coating is unlike any other version I've ever had. It's thinner and crispy, not puffy and bready. The Chicken Sub Gum was wonderfully savory and full of veggies, much like the Lo Mein which has a large amount of bean sprouts and a good amount of mixed veggies, same with the fried rice.I should also mention that the fried rice is not too soft, isn't overly fried with enough soy sauce to darken it too much like so many other places do...every dish I've had here is perfect (when I add my own preference of soy sauce to the finished product). They know how to make excellent food and do not skimp. I will say that I have forgotten what a certain nearby restaurant's food is like, but I know that last time I had their food last year, it was on my list for favorites. If I can update this review later, I will, but for now...This place is honestly the ONLY place I will go...even if I have to travel 15minutes to get there.Give this place the business they deserve!“
“Cheery and attentive servers. A great deal for all you can eat; soup and ice cream courses in addition to grilled food of your choosing. If it's not delicious, you might need to adjust your choices, though salmon and imitation crab were not as good as the beef, lamb, pork, chicken and shrimp.“
“Comfortable in every way for a restaurant in Salem OregonUsually quiet, not extremely busy.Vegetarian options: Now your food.Parking: Regular parking lot, close together.Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant, no children activities.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room for handicap people. Parking, aisle, restroom, doorways.“
“Restaurant side is very nice, but talking about the bar side here: Best Chinese lounge in the city. Awesome all-day drink prices: $2.50 domestic / $4 craft taps with good selection. Dinner combos are $12-15. (All as of March 2024.) High quality food -- some of the best classic Chinese food I've ever had. Nice bartenders. Lots of parking. Classic rock on the radio. No karaoke. One big TV, two smaller ones. Carpeted floor, and Chinese lanterns help make it pretty cozy. Free pool Sun-Tues. Really, nothing not to love.“
“My new favorite place. Wow. Been driving past this place for about a year. One of my co-workers got some to-go for lunch and it looked delicious. I picked up dinner on the way home and holy heck that was some of the best Bento I have ever had. Will definitely be returning and telling my friends“
“I have driven past here almost daily for several years and finally decided to give them a try for lunch the other day. I was not disappointed! I was seated right away and offered tea. Everything came out quickly and was hot. The portion sizes are on par with every other Chinese restaurant I’ve gone to, but the chow mein is the best I’ve had! I am a garlic lover, and I could see the minced garlic in the vegetables. The breading on the sweet and sour pork was perfectly done, though I would have liked more of the sauce (personal preference, my husband would have thought it was just right). Prices are reasonable, and I will definitely be back. I’m disappointed I haven’t tried them sooner!“
“Went here as part of a group meal. I use a walker so couldn't access the restaurant from the front or one of the sides. There is a ramp on one side to use and a doorbell. Had to press the doorbell several times before we were admitted.Once inside my group of about 40 was in one room . Tables were set up nicely. There were 2 of us with walkers. We both wanted to keep them by us, several people tried to move them. Explained it this way, how would you like your legs being put across the room? The food was plentiful and tasted really good and the price was reasonable. Avg $13-14 a person. They didn't have have Coffee in stock, they had run out. The server did an excellent job with a smile on her face.“
“My son and his husband found this place last weekend while out Christmas shopping. So they treated me to lunch and not disappointed. The pho was delicious.# 105 chicken pho. A small is still to big for me but got a togo container so left overs. Lucky me. Wait staff is very attentive and remembered my son and his husband. Definitely will be back.“
“We love this place it is great some days you can get there and your family is the only one there it's because you can beat the dinner Time Rush and be served your food piping hot is in like five minutes of placing your order but even on busy days it never takes that long to get your foodKid-friendliness: My kids loved the place the people are very nice to children even with my son having ADHD and my daughter being for and not being able set still very long they don't mind“
“I've loved this place since I was little. I'm 40 now. The same two sweet ladies have owned it together forever. I'm 40 now. Always consistent. I highly recommend the Egg Foo Young, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chow Mein, BBQ Pork, Fried Rice and their Fortune Cookies. I can't really say anything about other stuff because I always get those. But it's so darn good!! They've done so well keeping pricing the same too. You get a ton of bang for your buck. I live in Texas now and I go there every time I visit home. Y'all don't even know how lucky you are to have this available. There's no good Chinese here. I miss Canton Gardens!! It was nice to have during our visit. I'll be back in the summer again!!Dietary restrictions: They have something for everyoneWheelchair accessibility: No steps or anything“
“We live an hour away in Beaverton... We crave Lucky Garden... To the point of always stopping here when we're in town for family functions.I always get the Sesame Chicken mild. It's well fried, covered in a sweet and spicy sauce, comes with a side of white rice and it's a generous portion size too! They're friendly but don't bother you constantly like some restaurants, which I appreciate.Atmosphere is nice, relatively quiet and small.Love them!“
“We just had the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. I ordered the Kung Pau Chicken and it was so flavorful!. My husband had the #1 and he loved every bite. The woman who served us was very friendly and treated us like we were regulars there, eventhough it was our first time. We will definitely be going back!!“
“The menu offered up just what we were looking for. Sister and I ordered the "select three items combo plate". We both got exactly what we were craving. Husband ordered General Tso's chicken and said it was good. The interior of the restaurant was pretty basic with booths along the walls and a really long banquet table down the middle. Our server was personable and attentive. The BIG downer for the evening was the permeation of cigarette smoke around the area we were sitting. We were the only diners, so we could only surmise that a person was either smoking by an intake vent or open door/window, but it was strong.“
“After taking my Mom up to Salem for an eye appointment we decided to look for a place to eat. I've been up and down Commercial a lot over the years and can't say I've ever noticed this place but I did today. So we decided to to try it...And all I can say is my Oh my. So many things to try and they were all SO good. Went back at least twice. If I could have held any more I could have stayed there all afternoon. Ton of variety and everything was delicious. Yeah, like another reviewer noted the Men's room needed a pretty good deep clean, but that's about the only negative thing I could say about it. This place will be added to my very short list of places I like to eat in Salem/Keizer.For Mom and I with two drinks it was about $38, I think she said. A little expensive but well worth it for what you get.“
“I was in the mood for a classic American Chinese restaurant and this was just perfect. Will we enjoyed our meal we also heard another customer telling someone that this is their "go-to" place. I understand that it will be mine now too.Amazing value on the flexible dinner option of one entree with rice and soup. They also have the classic combination dinners all at a very reasonable price.“
