“We were surprised and excited to find a high-end restaurant a block from our hotel. We jumped on the chance to go and were definitely rewarded for it. The tasting menu was great with the wine pairings. The dishes really encouraged taking a 'perfect bite' to make the magic happen. There were many interesting dishes presented in novel ways and flavor combinations to tickle even my fickle palette. The theme of the food was definitely a mushroom, root vegetable, 'earthy,' umami forward experience. The wines were perfectly paired with the dishes and had a great variety, even including local favorites. If there is anything to caution over, make sure you get a reservation at least a day in advance and know that it is pricey. If you love the fine dining experience and wish to splurge, please give it a go. You won't be disappointed. This is on-par with some of the Michelin starred restaurants we've eaten at. It's the real deal.“
“Best breakfast I have had in at least 8-10 years. Everything is made from scratch on site. The hash brown potatoes were fresh and crispy perfection.I wish I could give them six stars. Coffee, homemade bread and jam. Hope you get Vicky as your wait person. Very, very good ?“
“Amazing soup, bread and salads. Devoted staff. Family owned for decades. Great options for vegetarians. Somewhat noisy 11 pm to 1:00 pm due to crowds and low ceiling.Vegetarian options: Broccoli soup, vegetable soup, corn chowder, mushroom soup salads, sandwiches dessert“
“The vibes, food, people are all the best here. We came here for the first time a week ago and couldn't wait to return. It was a hit for the whole family which is rare. We're alas planning when and how often we can go back! As another reviewer said, just go!!“
“It’s a very busy little diner, but the food and staff are outstanding! Chicken club with hand cut fries were delicious. My husband had the February grilled cheese special with homemade tomato soup that was outstanding. We look forward to going back to this little gem.?“
“They made my birthday breakfast very nice, were extremely diligent with service, and have actual homemade foods. Nothing generic, or premade from Sysco. Everything about their dishes was amazing and it’s cheaper, bigger and much higher quality than Shari’s. I was so satisfied that I ended up leaving a 50% tip.The only downside’s are that there is a limited amount of seating for such a popular establishment so sometimes you could imagine there’s a bit of a wait, and they don’t seem to offer a military discount yet. A Long communal restaurant table for 10 each would fit right through the center of this restaurant and would expand the capacity by double and reduce wait times. The way they make their chicken fried steak is well… amazing and their menu would be even more amazing if they added something like razor clams especially since the hilltop diner over near Canby shut down a few years ago leaving a large and loyal customer base at a loss for some great razor clams; I can imagine that this restaurant would make them even better based on their CFS recipe. The way they make their own delicious homemade breads makes me wonder if they one day plan on adding something like giant deep dish, pecan covered, heavily frosted cinnamon rolls to their menu which I know would be famous quickly based on their already high quality breads. It’d be also very nice to see some loaded baked potatoes on their menu. This type of restaurant is something that you should bring your family to often and support as much as you can because they’re very rare. I plan on coming back to try several of their other entrées.“
“In general I do enjoy this place as a nice ice cream spot, but please be aware their matcha latte may not be quite what you expect. I’m a frequent matcha drinker, I’ve never had a matcha latte /anywhere/ else that was anything other than some combination of matcha powder and milk, but the one I got today included coffee. Odd combination, definitely not what I expected, and it certainly wasn’t written anywhere that that surprise addition would make its way into the drink? While the staff member was kind enough to make it for me cold instead of hot upon request, she seemed generally confused about what she was doing, and initially gave me just their version of the matcha latte, and not the matcha latte special I had ordered from their employee creations board. I had to prompt her to add the ice cream offered in the description on the board. Altogether the drink wasn’t necessarily bad, just very strange, and not what I, or anyone else I know, would expect of a matcha latte.“
“If you're searching for the best pie in the PNW, look no further. This place is run by 3rd generation farmers who take pride in growing every ingredient that goes into their pies. The dedication of this wonderful family shines through in the incredible quality of their product. Truly a gem worth experiencing!“
“This was such a special dinner. Excellent in every way . Unique or classic, each dish was so exceptional! Fine fusion ? Upscale casual ? I don't know what to call this "vibe" but I really could fall in love with this venue ! Our server was completely competent yet completely casual, great ! Our first round of mixed drinks was an eye opener ! This nosh is complex ! We were blown away by our firsts ... "bread & fat "was so much more than implied ... and steak tar-tar ...a classic seldom seen today ... they really nailed it ! I will return for drinks and starters without a doubt , as soon as possible! For our entree we all chose quail and were really happy with its lovely presentation ,a wholesome feast. Farm to table at its best . A perfect place to savor the best of what Oregon has on offer .“
“really great macaroni cheese, pulled pork, ribs, and cajun tots. enjoyed both the original barbecue sauce and the sweet onion barbecue sauce. i have spent enormous amounts of time in texas visiting family- not as great as those options in tx, but compared to others in oregon, it’s great!“
“Plenty of parkingPlenty of seating inside and outsideFriendly staffReally enjoyed bacon and cheddar risotto ballsGreat crispy great sized fries ? and delicious burgers ?Unfortunately we didn't know the take home desserts had a scoop of ice cream so that all melted as we placed the dessert boxes straight into the fridge when we got home.Chicken tenders were a good size for the kids meal.Very considerate of server to provide a cup with a lid and straw for the kid with me.“
“Such good food and a great place to take you family for breakfast! We come here every time we visit our family in McMinnville. It never disappoints. They could use a little more help with servers because our server the past couple times we've been there was spread way too thin, but all in all it is a great place to eat. What's nice is that if the server is too busy you can go up to the counter and the staff behind the counter are very friendly and helpful and will get you whatever you need.“
“Wonderful food! I ordered the meatloaf dinner and it was excellent! Good cider too.The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Nice seating with lots of dark wood, and it wasn't too loud to be able to carry on a normal conversation. The chocolate torte for dessert didn't hurt either.“
“This place is fantastic! We went for a Saturday afternoon meal. They had an elevator to take you to the 3rd floor. We asked for outdoor seating and they quickly accommodated. Our waiter was very kind. My son got a root beer float and a cheeseburger. I got the 1882 pink drink, beet salad, and clam chowder. I wish I'd ordered the bowl of the clam chowder. I try the clam chowder at every place I go. This was by far one of the best I have ever had. It was stuffed with clams and potatoes. It was well worth the money. The restaurant is 3 1/2 hours from my house, and I would come up with an excuse to make the drive back for it.If you find yourself in or driving through McMinnville, make a pitstop and try it. Parking is street parking.“
“Great Two Egg Denver Omelet for Hubby, plus, Hash Browns, Toast with Jelly. As a senior kid, I chose to have the Kids meal which was allowed. Yummy sausage, egg, Hash Browns, and toast. I also bought a side of gravy for 1.50, which was a small soup bowl full, shared.Service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Frequent water and coffee refills. We have not been here for years due to our location. We will plan to be here again in the near future.Friendly, customer'oriented, smiling faces.Great Diner atmosphere!Thank you Tommy's. ?Upon first look , the parking lot looks like it's full , but there's actually parking to the right side and back.“
“Iconic establishment for over 100 years… still serving up great drinks & fair to all the local community. This place has real history. From rough & tumble past to soda fountain 50/60’s to the last old school bar on 3rd ave. Much respect for this stalwart establishment. Come see…“
“One of only a few places that the burger legitimately tasty different then any other for me it's amazing but if you want a fastfood burger it might not be itStaff is friendly but orders take the a bit to get out so keep that in mind when you orderThey don't always have to monkey but it's still a nice place to enjoy your food even more on sunny days“
“Fantastic New American restaurant in Oregon wine country. We walked in for brunch at 12:30 on a Sunday in April and sat at the bar. We got incredible service from their friendly bartender Steven. The double smash cheeseburger and the chicory Caesar salad were two of the best versions we’ve had in a long time, and their homemade Oreos and milk were an unforgettable dessert. Their orange cassis gin & tonic was a memorably great take on a G&T.Even better, most ingredients are sourced from the restaurant’s own farm.“
