Clay’s Smokehouse Reviews

First trip since Clay's relocation to King Rd. The new location has a bunch of perks- parking lot, nice building, comfy warm dining area. Not sure I've eaten in a quonset hut before. They're not doing lunch anymore, so the full dinner box had me stuffed. Ribs were tender with a fine rub and smoke. Chicken tasty but sees endemic for bbqd restaurant meat to be just a bit soft. Deep fried poet wedges top notch. I'm pretty picky about cornbread but theirs is a pretty good. Mac and cheese a little dry. Fun selection of canned beverages.

Hands down, some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of good brisket. I’m a Texas native and before moving to Oregon I lived in Louisiana for 12 years. I was just starting to accept that I would never find local BBQ as good as where I’m from. But I have to say Clay’s brisket and bbq sauce rivals with the best of them. Thanks and we’ll be back!
