Beautiful atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and I loved the library in the back. The food is top notch. Easily the best philly cheese steak I've ever had. The chicken skin appetizer is my favorite.

I was excited to try this place after reading reviews. However, perhaps try elsewhere. We got the carrot tartare as an appetizer. It was very bland. I got the chicken and waffles, thinking it was a safe bet. My waffles came absolutely soaked in some mediocre gravy. This is not what the photos looked like when I googled it. My waffle was legit swimming in it. Made the waffle gross and soggy. Wish the sauce could be on the side. My mom did like her salad. My dad liked his Philly sandwich. My sister said her crab sandwich was okay. We all agreed the coleslaw was lacking. Maybe try a different place. The service was excellent. Thank you to our server.

I went for the first time yesterday and I was so impressed! The atmosphere is nice and open, they play great music, the food is absolutely delicious- we got the smash burger and a duck leg special they had going, everything was just perfect. Staff was super sweet and helpful too. 10/10 recommend. I will be back for sure.

I am so glad I stopped in for dinner during my week long business trip to Salem. There are a surprising number of great dining spots in downtown Salem and Epilogue is now one of my favorites. The menu is creative with a NW regional cuisine focus and plenty of options for all dietary preferences, veg, fish, poultry and meats are well represented across courses. The rye bread with the carrot tartare was worth a visit alone, so delicious! We also had a salad, the crab cakes and one of the signature cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate and drank, as well as our friendly server. The only element of the experience that could have been better is the cold air coming in when people come in and out of the front door. A vestibule would be a welcome addition to help transition into the space and maintain a comfortable climate inside.I will definitely return!

It was our second time eating at Epilogue, the first was a birthday brunch with friends and it was delicious! We decided to come back for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and the food was again, delicious. The folks working were so kind and helpful and opened champagne we had brought with us. (Normally we wouldn’t BYOB to a restaurant but it was a milestone and the bottle was a wedding gift) I had the crab cakes, totally nailed it. Not dry, flavorful, and the corn relish was a great pairing. My husband had the rabbit, which was moist and seasoned well, the carrots it came with were smoky and delicious! We also had deserts, the oatmeal cookie and pecan Dacquoise which were both very good. I can’t wait to go back for brunch with a designated driver or attend one of their special dinners! I wish there was more on the menu because I’m selfish and want more from this kitchen, the dishes are so good and clearly a lot of thought go into them. I highly recommend Epilogue if you like comfort foods with a fancy twist.

Was really looking forward to eating at this place. If I wasn't meeting friends there I would have walked on by. I like to go out and have a meal to get away from the world. Too many political statements in the decor. Very expensive and the consensus of our group was disappointing. Homemade biscuit was the best thing we had. It was also extremely cold and every time the door opened we were hit by cold wind. That could have been remedied by locking one of the two walk in doors. We all wore jackets the entire time.

We had been wanting to try this place for a while and had high hopes. The vibe is great and I love the whole idea of the place. Service is good. Feels like a true date spot.I wasn't too impressed with the limited choices for entrees but assumed a limited menu means really dialed in work and everything would be excellent.Cocktails were nice and beautiful presentation. We got a sandwich and chicken and waffles. We weren't very excited about either. I knew the chicken and waffles would have a cheese sauce and even with an open mind, it just didn't sit right. The sandwich was really a pretty typical sandwich. We feel we paid extra for a vibe, which is fair, but probably wouldn't go out of our way to return.

Cocktails were amazing, I would come back for those alone! The crab fries were so good, our other app was served barely warm though. The food was good, but not great. Server was kind and attentive. I would come back again!

I don’t leave reviews. I’m doing this to hopefully help the staff improve.Net/net - seemed under staffed with a very low interest in customer service. Super long times between interactions - especially waiting to order and then the delivery of anything to eat. Felt ignored and almost like we were a nuisance. Just not worth it sadly.More details. We had a reservation at 645pm. We arrived on time, and then waited 10 mins until a table was ready. The cold wind blowing in the entrance every time someone came in or went out. We we were seated, the empty water glasses sat on the table for another 10 mins before someone came to greet us. The tables around us filled up and the staff attended these new arrivals while we waited. It almost seemed like we were being consciously ignored. Finally someone came and we ordered drinks and appetizer of bread and spreads and our mains. 15 mins went by before they returned with the appetizer. No drinks. Meanwhile the people who arrived after us got their drinks and fries within 5 mins of sitting down!I was starting to take it personally, hopefully gazing at the kitchen for our mains. We have now been seated for 30 mins. They arrive finally. My salad was good while my partners west Philly was kinda average. We were served by 5 different people. I had to stop wait staff who happened to be passing our table to ask about our food or drinks. My partner and I even made a bet during our visit that the server attend the next table over would walk away with no eye contact for us while we waited for service. He being more optimistic than me, lost the bet.

My partner and I have been to Epilogue a few times in the past and have always enjoyed it. I love the Rumspringa coconut cocktail and get it almost every time I go. This time around, we switched things up and tried the Arancini, West Philadelphia, and Pecan Dacquoise. All three were delicious, to say the least. The Arancini was a perfect appetizer. Took us only a couple of minutes to finish it all! We upgraded to shoestring fries instead of chips with the Philly; they were perfect, not greasy, overcooked, or oversalted. We finished with the Pecan Dacquoise, which was light and not too sweet. I could go there just to have this dessert! We left full and happy per usual. Thank you Epilogue!Parking: Can be easy or difficult to find close parking depending on the day of the week and/or time of day.
