coffee is good, options for breakfast are good. service good. the place is unique, it's a bit challenging for some of the seating areas for short people and it can get loud but still a great place!

I'm always searching for local coffee shops over the ubiquitous Starbucks or Dutch Bros. Traveling up to Salem the other day was no different. Of course, I turned to Yelp for options since I'm not too familiar with the area and found Higher Ground, which was conveniently located about a mile from my sister's house (our final destination). Great coffee, wonderful service, very clean and supports a great cause. The only real issue is that the lines tend to really back up as there is a large fluctuation in baristas which means there are people training pretty often which means slower circulation. People should know that most of the baristas are servant leaders (volunteers) so they are not being monetarily compensated.
