“Allentown seems to be adapting to the modern world in bits and pieces with old Allentown pushing back against new Allentown with both seemingly coexisting nicely. The Allentown Farmers market inside the grandstands is an old meets new blend that works fantastically offering every from Penn Dutch standards to Asian fare. Think future shock under ground society crossed with a European food hall. Among the variety of offerings is Loan's Vietnamese, a postage stamp of a restaurant that spills into the hallway with it's tables. Mr Loan is a flurry of activity taking orders, waiting tables and keeping the area spic and span. A limited menu, probably guided by the minute kitchen offers classics like Pho and Bahn Mi and one off daily specials . LH and I did a lap in the hall and of course opted for Loan's. Fresh food with quick ish service it was a great choice. I don't know if there's a lot of Vietnamese food in Allentown but if this is it that's fine. So tour the food hall but leave room for Loan's Loan's. You can bank on it. Go!“

“Oh. My. Goodness. If you need some Vietnamese food in your life- this place is great. An option that I couldn't select but HIGHLY recommend is the Bánh Mí. Everything is so filling and also light at the same time. If you're in the mood- go for it!“

“Just tried out this place for the first time and absolutely loved it. Ive been into trying new pho places recently and this place took the top spot! First off, theres so much seating, its also so cute inside. The staff was all so kind. Felt very welcoming! The food was 10/10! We started off with the shrimp summer rolls which were delicious! The peanut sauce that it came with tasted great too! I also got the Pho Tai Nam, and my boyfriend got the Pho Nam. We mutually agreed that it was the best Vietnamese soup we ever had! The broth was seasoned so well, and the meat was cooked to perfection! The food is also very affordable! Could not say enough better things. Definitely try this place out! 10/10“

“Looking for a nearby restaurant with vegan options for lunch and this one is only 11 minutes from home. They serve somewhat authentic Vietnamese and Thai food. The menu indicated which dishes were vegetarian or could be made vegetarian. We had the fresh tofu summer roll with peanut sauce, pho with tofu and vegetable red curry. The summer roll was not bad, the pho was good, and the red curry was better. Spicy dishes also are indicated with the default being mild, but you can request higher levels of spiciness. We also ordered two tofu banh mi sandwiches (the pickled daikon didn't have much flavor) and another pho for takeout. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices and portions were very reasonable. The place is clean and bright. Certainly worth going back to try more vegan dishes.Vegetarian options: There are enough vegan options to be able to try different dishes each time you go there.Dietary restrictions: We asked them to leave out onion, scallion and garlic, and they were able to accommodate.“

Pho viet royal II Vietnamese • $$

“great place and we eat at A LOT of pho places. great broth. also had clay pot. lots of variety. was expecting young coconut drink with chunks of young coconut but got vita coconut water which is not the same thing. also the cafe sua da did not have enough condensed milk . other than that, i would definitely come back. this place is decorated like an old italian place but im okay with that as long as the food is good and it was. there are a lot of tables and they take credit card which is rare since most of the places we go in philly only take cash. they have a sign in the door that they don't take apple pay. not much for dessert but i don't know of any vietnamese dessert anyway. it's clean and they play cheesy music which is what i totally expect. i thought the price was super reasonable. love they give you a pot of tea instead of a cup. this place was not busy on saturday around 1:00. don't let that fool you. go eat at this place.“
