By far the best location of the 3 in the area. Food simply tastes better!! It's worth a trip downtown to experience the original Texas Hot Dog location! Parking can be a bit tough during peak hours.
Texas hot dogs has been one of my favorite spots. I've been eating there chili cheese dogs with onions, my all time favorite dog here in Altoona since I can remember. It's the chili that keeps me revisiting Texas Hot Dog in downtown Altoona.Parking: Texas Hot Dogs sits on a busy street in the downtown district. Free Parking anywhere in downtown Altoona can be a problem. Bring your quarters. THe meteor lady means business.

Criminally underrated food at every location. When I walked into this location I felt like I was looking at a 1980s list of prices. A burger for $5.20, sides for $3.65 but hot dogs being $2 is a more than other local spots. This is easily reconciled by quality. As soon as I related my order it was brought to me before I could even fully sit down. The service was faster than the cars that speed around the 12th avenue corner the shop is located on.
