This place has absolutely amazing homemade tortillas and chips and authentic spanish food and is a hidden gem on Southside. Food may take a bit but trust me it’s worth it, the food is so damn good.
Called and phone rang about 10 times with no answer. Stopped by and ordered in house for takeout. Place was empty except for 1 customer. Waited over 30 minutes for my order while 2 grub hub drivers came in to pick up orders which they had to wait 15 or so minutes. No wonder there was only 1 patron. Before I left, a couple came in and ordered. They had to ask for napkins. 2 waitresses seemed confused and clueless. I'm born and raised here. Zapata's went out of business many years ago. Employees of that excellent establishment started General Z's. It was excellent for years. Now, they must have sold it. The tacos are thrown together, the little bit of cheese not melted, all the familiar staff gone...
