If you did have a problem and didn't speak to the owner about it then shame on you, he would have handled the situation. Red Star is a bar to sit down and listen to the old timers talk about the old days, have a drink and yes, smoke a cigarette. We are a small coal mining town who still love the good old fashioned ways of life.”

Because there are other businesses there and depending on the time of year like Tax season and H&R Block and a Chinese Restaurant is in same small plaza sometimes parking is limited.”

“Worst DQ in Pa that’s a fact.Get a blizzard from Waynesburg DQ and it would be froze when you got back to Carmichaels,get one from Carmichaels DQ and you couldn’t drive a half mile and it’s soup.FIX the ice cream maker or close it up”

Owner, listening in preparation area, instructed person taking my order to make some, even though close to closing time. Excellent customer service.Excellent variety of sandwiches and bagels. Fond of lox and bagel, tuna melt and pastrami sandwiches. Good pastries and cookies too.”

“Love it when Darlene is working! She's the best!We were there last week and had a different bartender. I ordered a beer and it was room temperature. I said something to my son and one of the bartenders asked what was wrong. I handed her the beer can and told her it wasn't cold. She asked me if I wanted ice to put in my beer. I just drank it. Ice in beer???”

“Originally from Carmichaels and live in Maryland now but come to our spring, summer and fall place often and found this gem!!! Pastries, pepperoni rolls and breakfast were all superb. The breakfast was also very good with homemade italian bread toasted (was AMAZING). They also deliver out of state. Their nut rolls and little lady fingers are delicious - actually everything I have had from there is delicious. Ordering for delivery for Thanksgiving. A must try!”

“First time customer. I went here after being in court down the road and ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was perfect. Great taste, great ingredients, the crust was nice and soft. Service was great, very nice. Just a very good experience overall. Would definitely return.”

“It's my favorite place in Fayette County to get Chinese food. It's just a little hole in the wall restaurant. It's not a place to sit down and eat, although you can if you want to. It's mostly a take-out place. The food is always so good and the prices aren't too high. I couldn't recommend them more!”

“I don’t usually do reviews but for this I felt like I had to! The menu is amazing and different from anything else in the area. I had a chicken sandwich today and it was by far the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time. The sandwich my husband got was great and so was the ahi tuna appetizer… The restaurant itself is clean and beautifully remodeled. My husband and I are planning on making Vesta 88 a permanent place in our night out rotation!”

“We pass this place all the time, but had never been. So, we checked it out for my birthday one night.. service is kinda slow, but she was doing her best, super friendly.. quite a few pool tables, they had a DJ and kerioke, we didn't get home until like 3:30am lol, it was a pretty good night.”
