“As someone who has done an extensive amount of business travel, it is truly refreshing to find a restaurant that has a great location, ambience, superior food quality and incredible service all matched together. Our server, Kate, was exceptional in her engagement and recommendations, and actually making us feel welcome at the restaurant. Her service was supported by the food quality and just the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. I would highly recommend anybody who is visiting to stop at The Millworks and enjoy a wonderful, wonderful experience!“
“gave this a try around 7:30pm (30 min before closing) and they were SO nice, so excited for us to try their food. We had the jhol chicken momo and pani puri! Both were so delicious, really hot and fresh which was perfect for our to-go order. Mango lassi was delicious and pretty good sized cup! We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu and enjoy the traditional seating area!Kid-friendliness: Food friendly options for all ages to try Nepalese cuisine“
“Reminds me of my childhood growing up in Philly and running down to the corner deli to get a cheesesteak. Nice to have an actual authentic Philly cheesesteak place in central PA. Also great there is a Philadelphia pretzel factory right next door.“
“I had the sausage gravy and biscuits and home fries. It was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The cook even came out and asked how everything was. I wish we had one on this side of the river. I would go there all the time. My husband had an omelet and home fries and really liked his meal too.“
“Plenty of parking for this diner. The food was really good. I had the Greek spinach pie and small Greek salad, very tasty and a nice portion. Granddaughter loves hot dogs, french fries and chocolate milk. The Summit made it just right she said.“
“Small hole in the wall feel. Food was good. Next time I could use some salt on the fries. I had their prime rib sandwhich. The toasted buns really made that sandwich stand out and it was very tasty! Definitely will be going back to try their award winning wings! I will make an update once I try them. Overall, I would definitely recommend and curious to see how it is when I go back.“
“Genuinely some of the best food I have ever eaten. You can really tell the chefs put effort into every dish. They have a great coffee selection as well, and a ton of fresh baked goods made in house! Bri was very helpful on the front end and Chef Maret made some great recommendations. Highly recommend this spot for your brunch/lunch needs.“
“Great place for breakfast and lunch, smoothies, & healthy desserts. DELICIOUS food that you won’t even realize is good for you because it’s so tasty! This super cool, laid-back & artsy atmosphere makes a great place to hang with your family or friends. Inside & outside dining and room for a larger grip, or cozy coffee date. GREAT VEGAN & vegetarian options! Saturday & SUNDAY THEY SERVE A HARD TO BEAT BREAKFAST/brunch. Go here now! You can thank me later! ?“
“Eclectic pub with unreasonably good food. They’ve always got some fun specials on the menu — not just your typical burgers and pub fare, but also very good salads and funky appetizers. Gets crowded on weekend nights. Great rooftop patio deck in the nicer seasons. Reasonably priced and meals are big portions. Highly recommend.“
“We used the Elks Lodge for a luncheon after a family funeral. We could not have been more pleased! We met with Marisa late on a Friday. The reception was the following Tuesday. Everything we talked about was done and the room looked awesome. I highly recommend this place!“
“This little, unassuming, homey place has the BEST food and the waitstaff is DELIGHTFUL. My favorite restaurant in the Harrisburg area, and I don't think you can find a better steak anywhere on the east coast. I look forward to eating here every single time I'm in town :)“
“We got seated in what they call the outside. It's not an uncovered outside area and they keep it pretty warm. Normally someone performs music in this spot, so it's where you want to be if you want entertainment. It actually was comfortable and the food was delicious. We had an excellent server that was friendly and funny. The atmosphere is your normal bar scene with lots of noise, but that's normal. If anything, I was expecting it to be louder.I enjoyed my time with my wife and her friend.“
“This is a wonderful place to get fresh food and great service. Their menu is not huge but, they know what they're doing and everything they make is absolutely delicious. I have not had one bad thing yet!Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking located right outside for an entrance.“
“Sophia is wonderful. She has created a little gem with wonderful people and excellent food. My favorite brunch item continues to be this amazing pork chop, so tender, so tasty. Have never had a bad meal here in all the years we have been going.“
“This is such a fun and unique experience! You stay in your car, the wait staff comes to you, you eat in your car and drive off after you're done. The food and wait staff are exceptional! Always kind and prompt! One of our favorite summer treats and traditions!“
“Stopped in to grab a casual dinner. It’s reminiscent of an Irish pub with dining. They even have a little fireplace in the back- it may be electric but still a nice touch. My server Ari was so sweet and attentive. She took great care of me. It’s customer service like this that makes me come back and tell others. I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. It was a large portion and tasted great. She even sold me to bring some house made berry cheesecake with me for later tonight. Pricing was reasonable, service was great, and the vibe was great. What’s not to like?“
“Very friendly service. Sub rolls were exceptional. Turkey was tender as well as great quality pickles for sub. Pizza had quality ingredients, didn't taste anything off, crust is thin, easy to eat, got a good amount of air pockets in the dough so nice and crisp.“
“The locally renowned crab cake was as good as usual for my wife. The lobster roll was amazing considering I have tried them all over the United States and it ranks in the top three! Top notch waitress with good memorization skills and very timely.“
“All the food was expertly prepared and perfectly cooked but I honestly didn't like the flavor of the goat cheese appetizer and the two desserts, lemon creme brulee and tiramisu. The creme brulee was too lemony for me but executed perfectly whereas the tiramisu was confusing and a little liquor forward. I honestly believe other people might order these and love them. Crab cake, vegetables, and potatoes are great, but the sauce with the crab was too spritely with the lemon. Service was great and prices were fair. I recommend this restaurant as they have excellent food prepared exactly as it should be but maybe not right for my tastes. I know this is a weird review, but I want to go back and think you should go too!“
“We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was the first time for everyone and when I got into the personal part I said Wow, this is another level, the most helpful staff and the food that I tell you, I gave them 5 stars, keep it up and I hope to visit you soon Thank you . ...I recommend you visit this place and I can assure you that you will fall in love with this place“
“My husband and I went here to try the lemon ricotta pancakes, and they did not disappoint. The only thing I would change is less lemon curd on top for us it was too much. My husband got the morning meditation drink, and he said it had strong flavors but was very good. Overall, it is a great little place that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Has a rustic farm theme, which really helps enhance the fresh flavors they offer. Will be going back to try more.“
“I must say, my son has great taste. Intrigued by the sign saying simply, Restaurant, my son screamed for us to go there for dinner so we took a chance. From the moment you step in, you get a rustic, classic vibe. The booths are roomy and the staff, friendly and caring. The food was amazing. I had their chicken cordon Bleu and I must say, it melted in my mouth. The mushroom sauce was just the right touch. It's a savory, mouth watering, satisfying dish that I can't wait to come back for. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again. Did I mention that it's affordable?“
“This place has some of the best pizza in the Harrisburg area! The subs are also great and the Philly Cheesesteak is awesome! The large is absolutely massive! It also has one of the cleanest kitchens you will see and I had worked in the restaurant industry for years.“
“Our servers name was Ryan!! It was nice to have a server who knew what customer service is. He was excellent! The best service we have had in awhile. The food tasted great and came out pretty quick. I would definitely recommend eating here!“
“For years I have passed by this place and never stopped in . This morning I got to try O'Reilly's and went for breakfast. I didn't know they even served breakfast until this morning when my friend suggested we give this place a try. I always thought it was an Irish pub only severing lunches, dinners and bar food / drink stuff. Well, they also serve a good breakfast! The place is very nice and clean. The food was very good, I had the fresh fruit pancakes & my friend had one of the breakfast sandwiches w/ roasted potatoes. We both enjoyed our meals. I am definitely coming back again for breakfast and I would love to try the dinner menu. Our waiter recommended the Chili and the some of the smoked meats. 4.5 stars to our waiter! (sorry I do not remember his name?) I will update my rating once I try the dinner menu.“
“Love the outdoor seating space - covered but transparent and has heaters for when it’s cold. This is my second time visiting, the first time we sat inside. It was late so the inside was a little too dimmed so this time we decided to sit outside. We also went for their happy hour on raw oysters! They were $1/oyster, which we ended up getting two dozen. Boyfriend got the watershed pub burger which we both ordered on our first trip here, I ended up getting their spicy chicken sandwich (which might actually be my favorite now here). It wasn’t too spicy, maybe just a little kick which is nice. One thing I didn’t like is that the chicken breast was slightly too dry for me, I had a little hard time biting off a piece.“
“I had the best food ever and am definitely going back. My only problem was the waitress, she acted towards my friend and I that she didn't want to get us anything or do anything. She didn't get a very big tip. Tried calling but didn't get an answer. She wasn't that busy or I would have understood. Didn't get her name and will keep trying to call.“
“A very tiny deli with a limited menu and the traffic of customers were endless. They only have 3 bar stool tables inside and two outdoors. A corner location across from the capital. Staff friendly and helpful as I told them I have never been there before. I had the corned beef and had it just as recommended on menu, very good.“
“I will start this review out saying that I had been looking forward to visiting this place for weeks! That said my expectations were pretty high. I love their root beer and every time I come to PA I grab multiple six packs to take home. That said the experience of the restaurant was kind of lackluster. The food was pretty good, thank God they had a vegetarian option to switch out Patty's on the burger, that was a huge plus. However we arrived with a six year old and no children's menus were ever supplied, we had to ask if they had anything for kids, which we found out they do have kids menus, which made my kid happy, however we didn't see the menu itself just ordered the chicken strips off of it. The server was nice and helpful but not very attentive. I had asked if I could buy the glasses that our drinks were in, a good cheap souvenir for 3.50 a pop! I was pleased at that. At the end of our visit I had paid our bill with the QR code and apparently the site didn't charge me the correct amount so I had to pay again. However my bank showed three transactions. They told me two had been voided and to wait a couple of days for it to be refunded. That ordeal is why I gave four stars, since it was kind of annoying if their tech is not up to par why offer it?All in all I will go back just bc I love the root beer. Hopefully their tech issues will be resolved next time.“
“We had reservations for Valentine’s Day dinner and the experience could not have been any better. Our server was friendly and attentive. The drinks were very good. The food was absolutely delicious. I had been here before and knew the food was good so I was expecting that and was not disappointed. We would have tried dessert but we had other plans. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Parking is in the street or across the street in a city garage. Check Harrisburg parking authority for days/times/rates. Stock’s ownership also owns Carley’s Piano Bar around the corner so be sure to check them out as well.Dietary restrictions: I’m sure they would accommodate any requests zParking: Easy parking on the street or in the garage across the street. Check Harrisburg parking authority for days/times/ratesWheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get in and there is plenty of space to maneuver a walker/wheelchair but I would call to confirm.“
“This family owned restaurant is quite a statement. At the first glance no one would guess what treasure it is...All their food is cooked from scratch, right there, on the spot. Delicious dishes, very well presented. The tomatoe soup was garnished with pesto, giving it a fantastic refreshing flavor. The octopus was tenderly cooked and served on a bed of potatoes and capers. Very original...This stop was very rewarding and refresing, and for this reason I would like to give credit where credit is due.“
“Stopped by on Sunday afternoon. Hubby had the wings(Cajun)and a side salad. I opted for the cheeseburger which hands down was homemade and the best burger I have had out in a long time. Cooked to perfection. We shared some onion rings. They were darn good. Shared a piece of coconut cream pie. The BEST!!! Our server was Betty A seasoned pro.So glad we stopped in. We will definitely go back and enjoy the entire river area.“
“Great little "hole in the wall" pub. Absolutely AMAZING roast beef au ju. Tender and juicy, nice crusty sub roll with your favorite cheese. I add horseradish or the horseradish "Tiger" sauce. Been to the Grotto several times, and honestly haven't ordered anything else because the roast beef is just that good! Great and friendly service too. Go to the Grotto Pub, get the roast beef, have a Guinness to go with it, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed!“
“Looking for breakfast On the way home after spending a weekend in harrisburg, unhappy with the reviews of the Big Name places in the area, this one looked promising. We were not disappointed. Not a huge place, but there was a steady stream of people in and out. We were greeted and seated immediately, barely had our jackets off when our server showed up right behind us. My husband said his creamed chipped beef on a Belgian waffle was "ok" (a little light on the ccb for his liking), but making a decision between my usual eggs, etc, or something decadent, I asked our server's opinion, and went with the wild berry French toast. She was right, it was amazing. They had items you don't normally find at a typical diner, and I suspect we might have to start making out of town trips for breakfast now. Maybe for dinner as well...“
“This is the place for superior service as well as healthy delicious food. The variety of dishes satisfies a diverse set of palates. The ambiance is also great with adequate backgrounds for pictures or just viewing. Parking is readily available closer to the front door. The booths are comfortable too!Vegetarian options: Grain whole food plant based dishes“
“We stopped in on a Sunday early evening for live music and had a couple drinks, no food. The building is historic which makes this a really cool spot. There was a banquet room and bar on the second floor with a wraparound balcony that was accessible. The upstairs was closed for service at the time we visited. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. The bartender was personable and attentive. They did just also open a coffee shop with limited hours and I will be back to check that out. Nice stop for beverage or quick bite to eat if you are hiking Hawk Rock or the AT and a place to sleep if you need.“
“Waited to long to try Soup Guy all his meals and soups are phenomenal I’m from New Jersey and this is top tier. Great flavors and combinations, Taco Fridays, just overall a great place for anyone looking to meal prep or just on the go food for the week his online ordering/ pick up is easy. Adam and his wife are great and provide amazing food for the community“
“Great food. Great location. Great owner. Everything is fresh. Solid breakfast and lunch menu. Best breakfast sandwich I can find in downtown Harrisburg. I would have never thought putting Mayo on a breakfast sandwich would work but it is delicious. Especially the herbed Mayo. Try it out. You won’t regret it.“
“Wide variety of shops. Ice cream, subway, laundromat, Joey's chicken shack, tmobile, leather surplus, vape shop, dollar general, Chinese food, bar/restaurant with live music, hair salon, nail salon, yoga studio, and others. Very well maintained and pleasant plaza to visit.“
“Lake Tobias is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in PA! Friendly staff, affordable food, and the opportunities to interact with and feed a variety of animals make this wildlife park a unique and special place. The safari bus tours are my favorite part of this park! You are able to feed a variety of bison, gazelles, emus, etc. from your seat! You can purchase either pellets, popcorn, or carrots from the park and the prices are very reasonable. Pro tip: I have found that the animals really like the carrots and the kiddos really like the popcorn. The line for the tour can be long on busy days so make sure to bring something to entertain your kids. The animals eat right from your hand, which can be overwhelming for little ones or people with sensory sensitivities. The bus drivers are very knowledgeable and provide a variety facts about the animals and the park during the tour. The petting zoo has standard goats, camels, deer, etc. Be careful with the camels, some of them like scratches but some of them do not! Make sure that you stop by and pet the baby animals that are being socialized to humans near the petting zoo! I have been able to pet a baby bison, a calf, and a bunch of baby emus that were not as soft as I thought they were going to be. The exhibits are informative and some of the animals have a lot of space. The giraffes are a really long walk from the rest of the exhibits so be prepared! There is a hiking trail that will take you to the entrance of the giraffe exhibit that has birds and a very grumpy bobcat along the way. The trail has hills and is not disability or senior friendly so keep that in mind. If you stop by at the right time, then you may have the chance to feed a giraffe some lettuce or some other snack!Speaking of snacks, the food at the concession stands are delicious and very affordable! The burgers, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs at the Grille & Grub are all reasonably priced and hit the spot after all of that walking. The ice cream portions are generous and refreshing on hot summer days. There are a lot of covered seating areas near the concessions stands and scattered around the lakes. You can bring your own food if you want but with the affordable pricing at the concession stands you don't need to.If it is hot then make sure that you visit the reptile house or the museum for some air conditioning and information. The reptile house has exhibits around the walls of the building and you may get the chance to pet a snake or an alligator! There is a small amphitheater in the middle where keepers will bring out animals and give talks throughout the day. These talks are popular so get there early if you want a seat with a good view! The museum goes through the history of the park and is a loving tribute to the founder. There is an aquarium in the museum and staff who will show you some of the antlers or horns that the animals at the park have dropped. The park is open 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 6pm on weekends from June to August with shorter hours, limited activities, and/or only open weekends in April, May, September, October, and November (see the 2023 schedule below). Check back with the park website for their updated 2024 hours but the general concepts (only open for safari drive through in April and November, only open on weekends some months, etc.) have not changed in the past 3 years that I have been visiting. If you are coming from the south and taking the 225, there is a crazy bend in the road that you really need to be careful of (see the photo below). The park is located in a rural area but there is signage as you get closer to let you know that you are going the right way. You need to go past the John Deere store to get to the entrance. Parking is always free and admission at the time of this review was $19 for anyone age 3+ and includes all of the exhibits and the safari. You can pay $10 for the exhibits alone, but I highly recommend that you add on the safari! Active duty military and veterans are free with military ID. They don't have a way to purchase ti“
“First and Foremost, the exit and easy on/off ramp was what drew us to the Diner. It was not the food, but it is now!! Loved the French Onion Soup here, I think I detected some tiny mushrooms even in it, it was really great. I went with a Greek salad and a Gyro (chicken) and it was so big! I had way more food than I could eat but I still got apple caramel pie to go! I would get every item I had again! Sauces were great, food was hot, bathrooms were clean! Will make sure to stop here again.“
“Food is only mediocre. Just about everything seems a bit off. Soup serving size looks like half a bowl of soup and today’s soup arrived lukewarm (like I said, just a bit off).Kylee served me well.Atmosphere is too loud. It’s a good thing I was alone, since it would have been difficult to hold a conversation. Not everyone that eats at your restaurant have their eyes glued to the 34 TV’s.Dietary restrictions: I appreciate that you have a keto fajita bowl & the sweet potato fries on the menu…they are somewhat healthier. Although to be honest, I usually grab the grill Ruben!“
“My family and friends go to the Metro Diner about once a week. The food is excellent! In fact my granddaughters say the food is “more than excellent!”. We always have Candy as our server. She is awesome! She is on top of everything and is so nice!Kid-friendliness: There are menus with crayons and lots of activities!“

“Steve is a great cook. takes pride in seasoning the food he serves to people. The bartenders are on it you get a drink very quickly. I usually get the gyro which is always tasty but got the burger sub tonight & it was great. Nice to still have a smoking bar with great food. Good specials to choose from. If you want great food & are a smoker here you go try it out they won’t disappoint you.“
“Came in towards the end of their day and they were more than gracious to accept our business. Owners were very pleasant. The restaurant was the cleanest one I believed that I have ever been in. Meal was great and the only reason they received 4 stars instead of 5 was because the cake we got, to go, tasted like it had been in the fridge for a while. It tasted stale; otherwise a quaint place!“
“Great location to step out for the night or during the day. If you are craving some delicious Spanish food I would definitely recommend this location for you and your family . You will find a variety of meals, including dessert ?. And Did i mention they have a full bar ?.I love the Pina coladas here ?. They have live DJ's on the weekend's mixing some great music! ?. Recommend ?“
“The food is always on par with the price, especially the portions. Even it’s a bit pricier than some restaurants but amount of food you get is worth the price.Service has always been good. Only small issue here or there but it’s rare.Atmosphere is great if you go during lunch on a weekday or Sunday. But if you go at night time, especially on weekends; it gets LOUD.Parking: Good number of parking spot, but when it’s really busy at night; may have a harder time finding parking spots.Kid-friendliness: It’s good for family during lunch time. Dinner can get LOUD, especially during football season.“
“Great place for a few beers! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious!Kid-friendliness: The kids menu had a lot of different options on it, no problem finding something for even the pickiest eater. A whole menu full of craft sodas too!“
“First timer and everything was Awesome, started with a sangria...so yummy. Then ordered the French onion soup, lots of onions, broth and cheese just the way i like it. Entree was the triple seafood ravioli and lobster bits in blush sauce....fantastic. server was readily available but left you enjoy your “
