Good okHusband's steak was tough. My cream of crab was too spicy even though I like some old bay
Disappointed. We stopped for breakfast on a Thursday at 7:30am. There was only 1 other customer. We ordered omelets and extra butter on our toast. Waitress and menu failed to mention you need to request cheese in the omelet. Barely any butter on toast. If we wanted dry toast we would have ordered it. Homefries were perfect.Won't return nor recommend.
Breakfast was very good. Teresa was an excellent server. Great experience.
Food is just okay. Service is good. The big negative is the lack of cleanliness. The mens restroom wreaks of urine. Overall just unclean.
Love the Squeaky Rail Diner.I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, and I may revisit this review and do just that. However, as my 5 stars are saved for the absolute best in class... I wish to ensure my reviews keep their value. It's a diner, as if the name wasn't enough to tell. However, the attentiveness and the sincere greetings when you arrive are unmatched. I've had a lunch or two here, and perhaps only a few more dinners, though it is breakfast time that they see my business.I get a Southwest Omelet (I think that's what it is, to their credit they know what I want/mean), with cheese. This is simply, egg, green pepper, ham and onion, then I pay the fee for the cheese. Their omelets are 3 eggs (to the best of my knowledge, I don't believe that changed), and their coffee is great. The coffee, has just enough bitterness, with a slight sweet nuttiness flavor to it, I cannot place it, but it's good, black, with cream/sugar or just sugar. The service is quick and the prices very reasonable, I believe my bill for the above comes to $12, the cheese is like $1 (a little high in my personal opinion, but is the industry standard for most places). If you haven't visited this homely feeling diner, you should. If you are a fan of the rails and trains, be sure to take a look at all the photos on the walls.
Coffee was good..Order didn't come as ordered..Waitress didn't seem to care
1st off, hostess seats us with no silverware. Waitress takes drink order. Girlfriend orders tea. No spoon to stir in sugar. This is after we remind server that we don't have silverware. So I go find server and she is talking to the hostess and drinking her drink. All I wanted was chicken fingers and fries. Waitress tells me I can't just get chicken fingers and fries. I either have to order the chicken finger dinner with salad or soup and 2 sides. Or I can order appetizer chicken fingers and a side of fries. No problem. Give me what I want. Now Waitress tells me they don't have chicken fingers as appetizer. So I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger with just cheese bacon and barbecue sauce and fries with chicken gravy. They bring me my order they had lettuce tomato and onions on my burger no barbecue sauce and the fries tasted like they were sitting to counter for a while without gravy. My girlfriend had ordered the sqeaky rail feast. Her eggs were cold the home fries were a little warm and the pancakes were cold. Our server never came back to check on us or ask us how everything was. Not happy at all. Sorry about this being so long of a rant.
Have eaten there several times in the last month. Basic dinner with good food. What sets it apart is the service. The waitresses never fail to brighten our day with their smiles and cheerful attitude.
Good food and great service!
I never have had anything but great food and service here. Today August 2, 2021 was no exception. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast to an almost full dining room. The service was fast, we both had Eggs Benedict and the food was great and filling. 5 stars to Squeaky Rail Diner. I highly recommend this diner.
Decent diner. Not a lot special from other breakfast-lunch-dinner experiences.
They were out of sausage, but they over compensated with more then extra bacon! The staff were an absolute delight. Everyone was really nice
A group of veterans and family got together here to catch up in person following a year of primarily virtual contact.. I enjoyed a Chicken Mediterranean wrap that was hardy and delicious. I drank hot tea.. Pictures on the walls portrayed railroad history in keeping with the restaurant's name and theme. Waitstaff were kept busy with frequent rotation of customers. Kudos and much thanks to Molly for providing outstanding service. This is a terrific gathering place in an ideal location off routes 11/15.
It was pretty on the outside but it was so cute inside. There are outlines of trains on the wall when you first walk in and it makes you feel relaxed. Had onion soup for the first time and it was delicious and the burgers were huge!! And to make it even better there were trains just across the road, which kind of explains the name. Wish I'd taken a picture but I tend to do more sightseeing in a new place.
Good food. Reasonable service. Very clean and open. The train memorabilia is very nice
