My family loves this place. We come here once to twice a month. It's not a nice looking area but the food is out of this world. It's better than Sawsadee, Chalit's Thai bistro, Sakulnya, etc. We have been to all the Thai in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill and this one is the best. This is the #1 Asian restaurant in Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg area per Trip Advisor. Saw the article on MSN. Was surprised. Congrats, Bangkok 56!

My friend and I always used to eat here for years but after two occasions of the waitress being very nasty; especially to me, we have no more desires visiting Bangkok 56. First time around, the cook was very angry with me when I simply asked him a question about a specific food dish. I wasn't happy with the discussion between us, but simply ignored his inappropriate behavior towards me since we had a good rapport in the past; he and the one waitress that always served us with no problems. The last visit was the worst experience we had, when I ordered a Thai dish, asking not to include any meat since I am vegetarian. When I received my food, it included meat which I said I didn't want. After the waitress took the dish back to the kitchen, the cook quickly emerged from the kitchen displaying a very angry reaction, accusing me of ordering meat with my meal and then denying I ever said I wanted no meat. After the scene he created in front of a number of other guests, I was quite upset and because of he, being so disrespectful to me as a customer, I told the cook and waitress that we'd never eat there anymore. This restaurant might serve some very good food, but if the time arrives that you are mistreated and disrespected for no reason, I assure you that you will never visit this place again. I refuse to be treated like crap again for no reason at all. It proved to me and my friend, that they care nothing for what their customers want. All they care about is the money. Think of that when you're eating your delicious meal.

The parking lot can get full but it seemed that most people were getting takeout, so be patient and a spot will open soon. The photos on the menu were helpful for my indecisive state when we were there. The recommendations we got hit the spot. Tried the Pad Thai and green curry and they hit the spot perfectly with large portions to take some home. They allow you to choose your spice, so customize how you wish. They'll guide you, if you are unsure. Work your way through the menu and try new things. It all looked good! Basic decor with booths and tables. Fast service. Enjoy!

I honestly didn't think I liked pad thai, the first time I tried it, was at a restaurant in Indiana and it literally tasted like dog food. A preceptor of mine said his favorite restaurant was Bangkok 56, so a group of friends tried it out. I cant tell you how many times I heard other customers say this was the best thai food they had ever had, and they couldn't have been far off. I had the veggie pad thai while a friend had the shrimp. Couple other got the pineapple fried rice, and everyone said it was the best they ever had. The ladies working were so kind and welcoming. Wanting to try something new or adventure out, you surely will not be disappointed!
The food was so delicious. We were just passing by and decided to give it a try. No regrets at all. We ordered two different types of fried rice.

Amazing and great! I definitely enjoy the quality, flavors, and healthy food they serve. The service is prompt, professional, and friendly. It is a cleaner version to Chinese cuisine, or hibachi Japanese, or Vietnamese food. Thai is awesome. Just wish it was more filling and hearty. Everything was great, must try! No ambience. Just a good place to do take out.

I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is fresh, the services fast, and I really really really love that they have the proper chilis in the containers at each table. My favorite is the green chilies in vinegar and I'm sad that I don't see that at all the Thai restaurants.
