Food was really good, I ordered a sangria and it wasn't the best ive had but it was decent. As soon as you walk in, there is always someone greeting customers. The employees are super friendly and accommodating.
Let me start off with my actual server was pretty good, was a little disappointed when I walked in and wasnt greeted and had to practically find someone to ask about my reservation as the host stand isn't directly in front of the door. Now ive been here before and the food was really good, I had the steak and eggs with fries. With a few different mimosas, Which is usually my go-to, however I decided to try something different, i tried the chicken and waffles and it was just upsetting. Thr chicken was salty, the waffles were hard, and the hashbrown was way overcooked. The french toast dippers were hard and crunchy. Maybe they were rushing, perhaps and off day, but Im too disappointed to try again!
If you’re wondering if the fries are crispy, YES! We got the turkey ciabatta, Reuben, and fried oysters and they were all great. The iced tea cocktail also knocked me off my feet (but I’m a lightweight :)
Stopped in on our way home from a trip to Baltimore on a late Sunday morning. Seated right a way. V . Ordered the fresh donuts to share which were delicious. Main meals were Crabcake benedict, French toast, and turkey sandwich. All of it was fresh and flavorful.
Easily one of the best restaurants in downtown Harrisburg! It’s such a modern, relaxed feel and the staff is amazingly knowledgeable and attentive! The fish was absolutely amazing!! The faro and goat cheese were extremely delicious and the cocktails are a must try! They always have local ingredients and it’s a very farm to table feel with everything they’re doing! I can’t wait to go back again!
Nothing like sitting at the bar and having a conversation with the friendly neighbors and even friendlier bartender. Drinks are always creative and delicious. Food is great and always delicious
We arrived in Harrisburg planning to eat at another restaurant we'd discovered on Yelp, but it turned out to be closed for vacation. It was around 9:30 pm and we had no idea where else to go and literally stumbled upon Home 231 - nearing closing time and with our dog. For a moment, it looked like we'd be wandering the city looking for food as restaurants closed up, but the fabulous manager accommodated us outside. We proceeded to have a delightful evening with absolutely fantastic food - crab cakes, turkey soup, green salad, deviled eggs and a cheese platter, polished off with their delicious house-made ice cream trio. The presentations were as good as the food. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed a meal that had a variety of different flavors. The service was just right with good timing throughout the meal.We started with a roasted vegetable and meat board. They are listed as two separate items on the menu, but they created a single board with items from each. The veggies were the stars. The flavors on the meats was just a little off for our tastes. For the meals we had bison short ribs on pearl risotto and a carrot gnocchi. The ribs were cooked perfectly. The risotto flavor was great, but the texture was naturally different from a rice risotto. The carrot gnocchi was tasty. The sauce was a mix of sweet and spice, and my favorite part of the meal.
Amazing food. Great cocktails. Even desert was great. Lovely atmosphere.
I find myself in a tough position again with Home 231. This spot is such a gem I almost hate to share. But I suppose in all fairness to the Home 231 crew, I will. Tucked away and isolated to the point of almost blending in to the nearby historic homes of Harrisburg, the inviting ambiance and style will require a double take. The outdoor courtyard is truly relaxing, refined, and quite honestly provided the best dining atmosphere I've enjoyed in some time. The menu is fairly priced and will more than satisfy the foodie in you while supplying comfort food to calm your soul. We tried five appetizers, three salads, and the cheese board. All were excellent except the octopus which I found to be a bit too chewy to be enjoyed. But I will most assuredly return to this epicurean delight.. great job Home 231. You have accomplished much of which you can be very proud.
We came in with a reservation at 8:30pm. The waiter (I didn't catch his name) but he was phenomenal. The restaurant was closing and he did not rush us at all. The food was yummy but their customer service was one of the best I've ever had.
Just finishing up brunch. Very nice restaurant - much bigger than it looks when you enter. Very pleasant patio off the back with overhead string lighting. Brunch was excellent. Server was wonderful. Great experience all around.
The crab cakes eggs Benedict, and mimosas, were perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and artsy, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and provide excellent service. I highly recommend this little gem!
Honeydew Gazpacho was really unique. Drinks on point. Fish of the day was excellent. Pricy but delicious, you get what you pay for. Can’t wait to come back.
Nice outdoor patio in the back to sit with a small group. Good food and my friends loved the drinks!
