“This was my first time to McAdoo and this restaurant. It is literally one of four places to eat, all located on the main street of town. We stopped in for some drinks and appetizers. Most people hear McAdoo and they think of NBA star Bob McAdoo or disgraced NY Giants former head coach Ben McAdoo. For me, my father was born here on the day I arrived, 100 years ago! Our order started with drinks, The Godfather ($7) and Sangiovese ($6/glass). Our appetizers were the antipasto salad ($8.45), mozzarella sticks ($5 / 5 sticks) and two bowls pasta fagioli soup ($8.10 for two). What I liked: - Their price points were great - The pasta fagioli was loaded with product and had great depth to it - The antipasto salad had more chopped cheese and meats than lettuce which is always a good thing - The fresh style sauce with the mozzarella sticks was excellent. The mozzarella sticks were crisp and better than average. What I Did Not Like: - The pasta fagioli was over salted - The additional fee to use a credit card My Italian Scallion culinary rating is 8.1/10 cloves of garlic. As Sheryl Crow sang 100 Miles from Memphis, my song tonight was 100 Years from McAdoo!”
“I don't understand all the negative reviews. I love the place. I love their cheesesteaks and their beautiful beautiful sweet sauce.Vegetarian options: Large vegetarian selections but you got to have the cheese steak”
“First time here and I didn't know what I wanted so I asked the guy working what he suggested and I got a salted caramel cashew sundae and it was absolutely delicious ? 10/10 would recommend.”
“Adorable place, and the hot chocolate / coffee combo is great too. And half the price they'd charge at a starbucks. Will stop in next time I'm in the area!”
“Love the place. Great service and good price. I enjoy the live music, games, and that they're open and a place to go to and do something fun & responsible.”
“This is a lovely diner at the top of the Mtn in Freeland. We walked in and were seated right away. A lot of breakfast selections to choose from. We had the HeMan breakfast which came with 3 eggs, choice of meat, 2 pancakes, home fries or hash browns, toast, juice and coffee or tea. I ordered it because I like having a variety of foods to eat. I ate as much as I could but did not finish it. It was a lot of food for a very reasonable price and I will get it again because it was extremely tasty! Everyone we came across was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The parking lot isnt very large so try and come at a time that it might not be so crowded.”
“This place has really good food, decent prices, the esthetics and theme inside the restaurant is so unique and eye capturing. This makes this restaurant stand out.Parking: Parking lot with standard meters to put quarters in.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is all on the same level, this restaurant is wheelchair accessible”
“23rd wedding anniversary meal. Comfy chairs and lovely atmosphere. Good music playing in background. We both loved our meals. Reasonable prices and friendly service.”
“Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Had Valentines dinner at Top of the 80's. Everything was fabulous including the price and to top it off I received a carnation with babies breath and two chocolate covered strawberries!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a lovely meal with spectacular views.”
“Great place to stop. Great atmosphere, Don and Christina are are very friendly and welcoming. The vanilla porter is top notch and the jalapeno lager compares to the best of them. Must stop if your in Tamaqua.”
“Smoker or not you have to check this place out! Food and drinks are outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and cozy! Danielle was one of the nicest servers there and took care of everything I needed! Perfect for a date night or enjoying great music! Thank you!”
“This place is absolutely fantastic! They are so accommodating to bigger parties! My friends and I came in for a bachelor/bachelorette party, immediately they had tables put together for all of us! Service at the bar was amazing and so was the food truck! I would recommend it to anyone in general but especially for special events!”
“Great atmosphere, live music (guitar and keyboard) while you eat. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Nicely decorated and festive.Only thing is, the street parking can be challenging.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available”
“Omggggg if your looking for a great hoagie or deli meats you need to run here, teleport even ? it's that good there homemade bbq, ranch and the carrot cake omg to die for.”

“My food was really good.!!! Filet medalions over potatoes with red wine reduction sauce. Who would've thought a place like this. So awesome!!! Tonight was a live Neil Diamond singer. "I will be back.."”
“Wanted to eat in Jim Thorpe but found this down to earth Bar & Grill, food was excellent and the server was very thoughtful a d helpful. Not sure of here name but was working 2/17 a Saturday afternoon. Was celebrating my Birthday.”
“Hidden gem off the beaten path. The neon lights at night show you the way to excellent ice cream. Staff was polite and service quick. I will definitely come back.!”
“I always try to stop here for lunch when I’m in town. Love this place. Hasn’t changed a bit since I was a kid and that’s what makes it so perfect! Comfort food at its best!”
“Very quaint, cute space. Lives up to the name of a "coffee bar". Was offered to have my coffee served in a glass, which was a brand new experience (there are also traditional to-go cups as well). There were two people ahead of me, and the wait time wasn't terrible, considering Dan, the owner, was the only one behind the counter at the time. He was really attentive to everyone who came in, stopping for a moment to acknowledge new patrons. His recommendation for a coffee from Honduras did not disappoint. It was very smooth and flavorful with no bitterness whatsoever. I paid $4.25 for a normal sized latte, which is cheaper than your Starbucks and Dunkin by a few bucks! All in all, really great experience. Nice folks, good coffee, good environment. Would strongly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of alternate milk options.Parking: Fairly small llot, but seems easy enough to find a spot even during the busier times.”
“Awesome breakfast! Very timely. Never let my coffee get cold. Food was very very good. Table of bff's next to me sharing mimosas. Another table of veterans enjoying each other's company. Can't wait to come back!!!”
“I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this café by a Dominican coworker. Since moving to Hazleton I have been disappointed by the seemingly total lack of cafés in the area. I love it here! The coffee is delicious and everything is made fresh, not left out sitting in display cases. We also tried some pastolitos (honestly not sure how to spell that!), and they were excellent. The dining area is bright, comfortable, immaculately clean, and very welcoming. Highly recommended!”
“We just had lunch there. The atmosphere was simply old world charm. One guest had the Turkey Rachel and he really enjoyed it. I had a burger and it tasted delicious and like it came off an outdoor grill. We were full so we took dessert home. The staff was very attentive and very pleasant. We will return”
“I love the bakery pizza here and the pizza shells, and the cheese buns. I stop by here as often as feasible no matter where I have lived. Employees are awesome as well.”
“Take a walk back in time to 1933. This place is a GEM. Small intimate bar and seating for 15. The phone rings non stop and the bartenders chirp orders into a microphone to the kitchen. Beer is fresh and ice cold and a steady stream of people come and go getting Pitza to go. We got a 12 cut half schamutz/Romano and half sausage hot peppers. The schamutz is flavorful and fresh tomatoes and pairs perfectly with the aged Romano. The sausage it shaved and the hot peppers have the right amount of spice and brine. Senapes in THE TRUTH.”
“Atmosphere is good for kids and families. Hired help are young and polite like ice cream shops should be! Ice Cream flavors were delicious and well represented! The HASHL Coaches Mom's ? took our kids there for the win! ?Staff handled the sudden boost in sales, many complicated orders, with ease and accomplishment! Great job Goodfella's staff and Owners/Managers. Go Dragons!? Highly recommend! AAA+++”
“Stop here today for lunch. Oh my goodness the food was outstanding. The service was great. Don’t have one negative thing to say about the restaurant. Definitely will stop there again.”
“Chicken is amazing. Fries had great flavor, but needed to be little crunchier for my liking. Loved the 80’s atmosphere for sure. 80s music playing and can play video games and board games.”
“You cant go wrong with ice cream really but the young ladies, even though a little timid, were very kind☺️...liked the fire place as well...country music in the background but not too loud. Television plaging the news i wouldve gone with cartoons?? ima revisit it was a nice and welcoming atmosphere Kid-friendliness: Ice cream of course, fried food, stuffed animal claw machine, gumball machine, drinks,Wheelchair accessibility: Theres no ramps, its ranch style so ease of access”
“Seriously this HAS to be the best Chinese restaurant in NEPA . Been coming since I was a kid , very nice people inside that will never get an order wrong or even do so much as look at you the wrong way . And the food …. *chefs kiss*”
