“The food was amazing and our server was so helpful and kind! Great vegetarian options. Will definitely be back again. Good prices and a casual cozy atmosphere. Got the samosasvegetable saag, and chicken tandoori, and they were delicious! Thank youVegetarian options: Vegetable saag & veggie samosas were so tasty!“
“I decided to order dinner from this decent restaurant for the first time on 3/8/24. When I say it was finger licking good; there is no lie in that. I ordered through DoorDash and my driver was quick with delivery service. When I received my food everything was as described from the menu. Everything was also a first try except the Naan, which is one of my favorites when it comes to Indian cuisine. The Quail was exquisite especially paired with the Turmeric spices; that's one dish I will be ordering again. Lastly the "tasty" Pakoras. I didn't know a dish like this existed until ordering from Indian Char House. Another favorite of mine. If you are looking for a decent dine in, be sure to give Indian Char House a try!“
“Halal cart in front of cvs.Delicious food and extremely affordable. On top of that, the owner is extremely friendly and hospitable with all his customers. When I initially started coming here he was nice enough to let me sample some proteins and even gave me a falafel in my platter one day when I asked about it.~8 bucks for a flavorful yet filling plate of food with a drink is a crazy deal in these times especially when you’re not wanting spend too much and need something quick but satisfying.Fish, falafel, lamb, or chicken all have been delicious whether you get them on rice or wrapped in pita. Make sure to get white green and red sauce if you like spicy. Wishing this cart continued success and will miss it when I move out of SP.“
“The picture doesn't do the food justice. I was impressed by the flavor profile: the sweet and tangy tamarind chutney paired well with the gradual, intense heat of the peppery green sauce that was mellowed out by the yogurt. He was generous with the sauces to the point where I even saved the rest for my food at home. The crisps (very similar to fried wonton wrappers) were airy and perfectly complemented the mashed textures from the cubed potatoes and chickpeas. As for the samosa, it was delicious; flaky w/ just the right amount of spice in the potato and pea mixture. You can tell the peas are fresh because they have that slight snap to them. I'm deducting 1 star because while the chaat was excellent overall, I was a little disappointed I only got one samosa, considering a regular order of two samosas is $5.99 and I paid $10.79 for my order. That and my food was cold to lukewarm when I ate it in the restaurant; the sauces, yogurt, potatoes, and chickpeas cooled the dish down, while the samosa was on the warmer side. You could tell the potatoes and chickpeas were refrigerated up until they were added to the dish...I didn't expect this kind of temperature range. Aside from those things, I really enjoyed the trip there and will definitely try Hasan's food again! Service was quick, too. PS If you can handle the heat, request it "extra spicy" to get that delicious green sauce.“
“Wow I was in the mood for Indian food my my my I googled and found I rode right by the stand but bets believe I bust a u turn I got the butter chicken combo for $9 and a piece of garlic naan I must say that u turn was worth it and there was other first time customers out there they googled the best Indian food in the area boom ?there it was I will be going back with my husband he loves lamb since I don’t eat spicy Nafi made my order fresh to order very polite awesome customer service friendly environment reasonable prices and nice big portions he also takes Venmo, Apple Pay ,Cash app I would highly recommend this business for the the best Indian food truck very tender chicken if I could give 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I would thanks Nafi for your service I will be spreading the word?️?️?️?️?️“
“The food was fantastic and the service was near perfect albeit slow to start. If you're looking for a family oriented dinner or trying something new for a nice date night, Nirvana is definitely one of the best restaurants in Chestnut Hill/“
“The Scarlet Vetter says...... I was out of town in Philadelphia. I was craving Indian food, and so I decided to try this establishment through Uber Eats, to be delivered to my hotel. I ordered Lentil Soup, Garlic Chili Naan bread, Cheese Naan bread, Lamb Biryani, lentil Papadam wafer crisps, Chicken Curry, extra rice, and Dal Makhani. I ordered extra food beyond just my dinner for the night because my hotel room had a refrigerator, and I figured I could eat some the next day. I clearly ordered extra utensils under disposable items, which you can see on the bill, and I also included a note asking for small containers of Green Coriander Chutney. The chutney came, but alas, no utensils were sent along. No napkins either! This was somewhat annoying as I was in a hotel room with no utensils or napkins in the room. However, I was able to go down to my car and get my personal "on the road" reusable set, and napkins, which I then had to use for my dinner. The lentil soup was absolutely fabulous. I had asked for it to be extra spicy hot, and the restaurant certainly delivered on that request. The lentil papadams were light, airy, and crisp. The chicken curry was aromatic and flavorful. The Naans were large and made to order. Yum. If I had known how large they were, I would have only ordered one order. I liked the lamb dish. The lamb was tender and very flavorful. However, I was plagued with shards of bone in the dish, of which I included a picture. Super demerits for that as one chunk was both large and potentially dangerous. Because the food was very delicious and so authentic, I would have liked to have rated this restaurant with 5 stars, but the lack of utensils and the bone shards forced me to downgrade the rating by one star.“
“First time coming here, it happened to be on route to a final destination, and it ended up being a Happy find as the food was superb, service fabulous, and the establishment super clean. As for our first meal, my wife and I shared an order of lamb Samosa and shared a chicken tikka masala, and the paneer baingan Bartha, as well as a garlic naan . After discussing with the owner, who took our order about spice levels, we went with mild "3" on everything for a little bit of flavor. Next time will do a five and six and a little bit more flavor. Each dish was plentiful, super fresh. The chicken was tender vegetables very tasty the garlic naan probably some of the best we've had before and boy did we go dipping into our sauces .A little bit out of geo area, but we will make it or business to head back this way again, and try out some other dishes. Be sure to see your food photos on apologize for not taking pictures of the main before we started it was that good, couldn't wait.“
“I’m usually skeptical about Indian food in the US, but Virasat definitely hits the spot! Their Chicken Biryani actually reminded me of back home. Chicken curry, soya chops, and orange kulfi are some of my favorites too. Can’t wait to explore more of their menu. A must-try spot for anyone looking to satisfy their Indian food cravings!“
“Great spot to have some very good authentic Indian food. Made with love you can tell they care about the final product! Owners are also very kind and helpful if you need any help deciding what to get and offering suggestions for something new to try!“
“Honestly this is the best restaurant in Manayunk......this Ekta location is the definition of 'consistency' ... friendly, welcoming service and the food is always on point..... consistently great. Nothing on Main St or Ridge Ave compares .“
“The food is delicious. It never disappointed, and sometimes we chose food randomly, not knowing the names.Parking: Manayunk is a difficult for parking, especially during peak hours. I usually find parking around pretzel park or up the hill from it.“
“We’re craving Indian food and this place was delicious. Good portion of food, and very flavorful. The two guys at the counter were very nice as well. Nothing bad to say about this place. The food can get spicy if you order even moderate but I love spice, part of why we order Indian food! Delicious place and we have leftovers.“
“Best Cheesesteak in Philly. Don't kill the messenger. The only setback is that They're often crowded and have long wait times. Which in itself is a testament to their quality.Parking: This strip mall is often busy, but you should be able to find a parking spot.“
“I used to love their genuine Indian chai, but I'm not sure why they recently changed the recipe. The new chai doesn't come close to the authentic Indian flavor. However, their Kathi rolls are still great, and the service is good too! I really hope they bring back the old chai.“
“Great variety of vegetarian options for a good price if you know what to order! We've ordered delivery and also dined in. The restaurant is comfortable, and the owner is very kind and attentive. This is another one of our favorite Indian restaurants! If you're vegetarian, you might want to consider ordering their dal makhani, malai kofta, and/or mango lassi.Vegetarian options: Ekta has over 15 vegetarian options and some vegan as well.Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian, vegan, and options for those who suffer from different allergies.Kid-friendliness: If you bring your child, they have a ramp for strollers and high chairs for toddlers.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers in the front of the restaurant.“
“We went there for dinner at around 7:30 pm and we asked them if their food is spicy, they said, it’s mild but they can make it spicy. They served the food with so much love and care that we never felt that we are eating at a restaurant. We would surely go there as a family. Wonderful service and sumptuous food. “
“Indian restaurant that lives up to expectations. A bit difficult to find the restaurant if you are not from here. Good and classic dishes on the menu. Large portions that are also enough for the lunchbox the next day. Fast and pleasant service from the staff who gave good recommendations. Would love to go here again!“
“They accept walk-ins, but reservations are recommended, especially around 7 pm during dinner time as it tends to get busy. I highly recommend trying the chicken 65; it’s a little spicy, and the texture is reminiscent of chicken popcorn. I really enjoyed it.“
“I highly recommend. We were greeted at the door by the young lady. We ordered our food and then seated. When I say the food was fresh. The food was made to order. The taste of the entrees left us speechless in a good way. The garlic naan was perfect. The chicken Tikka Masala was full of flavor in every bite. The chicken vindaloo was spicy as I requested and all very tasteful in every bite. If you want good food stop by this place. We will definitely be visiting again.“
“Was walking past this place last Friday with a friend and decided to go today and try out the food. I’ve never tried Indian halal street food before and honestly, it’s the best thing I’ve had within the vicinity of campus.I was greeted by Dev he took our order totalling up to ~$14.85 with taxes, a tip and a 75 cent charge on all credit and debit cards. About 5-7 minutes later the food was ready. I tried the chicken tikka massala with a lot of white rice and a piece of naan bread. The pieces of chicken tikka was so delicious that it worked well with the sauce and the rice.I will definitely tell my friends about this hidden gem and will be back for more!“
“Being an Indian, I've tried a lot of Indian/Pakistani food throughout my life. Living in NE Philly brings us a new Indian restaurant every once in a while. Kazi's Tandoor & Grill is a restaurant/caterer that keeps things simple. At least that's what Kazi says. However, there is something addictive about the flavor in their foods. The food seems so simple, yet it's delicious. The secret is the imported spice mix that Kazi uses for his dishes and keeping everything else simple. The restaurant is currently best for takeout and catering orders. The only issue is that the location has no parking, and there is very little room to dine in. The food is priced perfectly for the quantity and quality received, so it attracts so many customers. I usually keep my orders simple by ordering the chicken biriyani, tandoori naan, and chicken tikka masala, but I have tried other entrees, and they are also delicious.“
“Great food the tandoori mixed grill and the naan had so much flavour and the goat biryani was delicious and the people were so nice and they did not take that long to give the food and the restaurant was so beautiful it was big and beautiful and overall it was so “
“They have special southern Indian dishes that I enjoy and put it in a different level. I had tried its non veg platter. Choices of protein is chicken or goat. I think it is tasty and makes the Indian style dining great. The dosa looks good and that I will come back and try. The air conditioner is not on good temp. I was sweating a lot while eating this spicy food. Masala tea is good but $5 a very small cup...worthy it?? I probably won't order it again.“
“This is the only place I will get takeout from in the area. It’s genuinely always on point. I get the veg samosas garlic naan and lamb karahi. Flavor and spice are spot on! Best Indian I’ve had in Philly idk what some of these reviews are on about“
“I didn't like that you can't order wat you want ..you have to take it how they set it up say if you later comes with white rice and you want brown rice they won't replace it you got to take the white rice and order a side dish of brown rice that's “
“Love Tiffin for the food -- one of the reliably best Indian establishments in the areas with a dedicated vegan menu (rare for most Indian fare which is heavy on dairy). Dishes could be more plentiful, but they're always deliciously fresh and tasty.Vegetarian options: As with most Indian fare, there are many vegetarian options with a bonus vegan menu (yay!!) which is rare for traditionally dairy-heavy Indian cuisine. Love it.“
“The food is excellent here! I am vegetarian and Banana Lead had options for myself and for my friends. The kitchen was easily able to substitute any meat or seafood for tofu. The seating area is quite large which makes it easy to walk it without reservations.“
“Ordered baingan barta, chicken biryani and naan. Everything was delicious, very nicely fragrant and spiced. Was a bit surprised (good) the medium was on the hotter side. So if you are not a fan of heat then go for mild. Very reasonable prices and portions if that's important criteria for you.“
“The Palace of India restaurant has an inviting and spacious atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating. I tried the refreshing cucumber salad, which had a good portion size and was full of great acidic flavors. It paired perfectly with the meat sampler, which was medium spicy and included tender chicken and kababs that were rather sweet. The Lamb Sambusa was very tasty and something I'd order again. The garlic naan was fluffy and aromatic of garlic with a slight crunch in texture. The naan bread tasted great with the chicken soup, which was medium in heat and with several shredded pieces of chicken infused with a blend of herbs and spices. I've tried the Tandoori chicken and Tandoori shrimp on separate occasions, and both were absolutely delicious. Opting for the spicy version added an extra dimension of flavor, and the dishes come with a generous serving of peppers and onions. Every meal I've tried at the Palace of India has been great. The restaurant consistently delivers on flavor, portion size, and quality.“
“The best Indian food in South Philly. I typically get the chana masala and it's always good, they also are very knowledgeable about vegan dishes if you ask, I got vegan roti with my order. I always order takeout or delivery, it's very good!“
“The Indian food was awesome. Especially the appam with mutton stew was amazing. I didn't like the Chinese food they served. It was a buffet system that day. The service was great. The atmosphere was okay. Overall it's a good to go “
“Karma is hands down the best restaurant in Philadelphia! Not only is the food delicious but the staff are incredible and make the experience amazing. We had the butter chicken which had a burst of flavor in every bite. With 6 different spice levels, they accommodate for everyone’s palate. I have been to numerous restaurants in Philly and none come close to their masterful work! The chicken 65 is perfect in every way; the spice, the savoriness, the texture.. this dish is simply unmatched. The soups give you a warm and nourishing feeling, especially when paired with any entree. I do not know where to begin with lasooni naan.. it’s magical and cooked to perfection. If you are in Philadelphia, you have go to Karma and take your tastebuds on a rollercoaster of gusto!“
“I'm into very heavy spice cuisines lately. Hubby told me Middle-Eastern, Pakistan, Indian, or halal should fit my taste buds. Since their cuisines contains tons of spices. I found Kabobi while shopping at Petsmart and decided to give it a try. Kabobi sits between IHOP and Party City on Roosevelt Boulevard. I really want beef kabob but Kabobi only carry Beef Nehari, which is a curry dish. I figure might as well try, I might like it. I also order Tandoori Chicken Kabob Skewer, white rice, buttered Naan, garlic naan and Kheer. I ate the Naan first,, i prefer the garlic Naan over the butter as it had more flavors. The Beef Nehari is really spicy, FIRE HOT lol, get the green sauce to tone that spice down. The Tandoori Chicken Kabob(bone-in) is absolutely delicious. The meat is extremely tender and flavourful. I was never a rice pudding person but Kheer? OMG........it is deeeeeelicious. This order cost $47, and I can get at least three meals out of it. Definitely worth the $$.“
“This place has THE BEST korma out of all the Indian restaurants I have tried. I have been to 5 others and the others are not even close to Ektas's taste. My favorite order is the chicken korma, laccha paratha and the malai seekh kabob... omg it's all so good. I want to try other dishes but I'm so hooked on this order. I have tried the samosa chat and it is good when it's not served cold. Oh I also tasted the onion bhaji that is delicious as well. I love this place. I just wish they add pani puri and dosa to the menu so that I can stop having to go to 2 different restaurants to get all of my favorite Indian foods.“
“This was my 4th/5th time visiting this Indian spot by my job and it's definitely growing on me as a lunch go-to. I have tried their Chicken Tikka Pizza, Garlic Naan, Lamb 65 Biriyani (highest spice level), and Kati Rolls. Overall the food is pleasant and I really enjoy the Biriyani. The prices are decent and I can count on spending less than $13. I enjoy ordering via the screen especially when it's busy, my order is always hot & they give very good portions. My only semi let down was the pizza which I wish came with a dipping sauce or different spice levels but it's a good personal size. I recommend coming a couple hours after they open simply because it's peak lunch time and the adjoined bagel shop is closing. I certainly plan on coming back to try more of the menu.“
“I miss spicy, authentic Indian food and this spot did not disappoint. I grabbed some samosas and a samosa chaat- and YUM YUM! My sons loved the samosas, and I grabbed enough to take home for later. At 1.75 a piece, I don't think you could beat the price and portion size. It was a sunny day after school so we sat outside, and our order was ready for pick up as soon as I walked in. I ordered online via grub hub. This spot has a lot of my favorites- gulab jamun, chaats, pani puri! I will definitely be back soon so I can get my Indian food fix. You can also get dishes made to suit a vegetarian diet. the decor inside is very sunny- yellow walls, digital pictures for the menu- and the owner came outside to check on us! Five star service!“
“I cannot speak more highly of this place. To be brief, here are the things I love about this place:1. The food is EXCEPTIONAL. I have been waiting for a really good Indian restaurant to come into Philly. It's taken 12 years, but I found one. We got the vegetable samosa (with 2 veggie pakora thrown in complimentary), chana masala, navaratam korma, garlic naan, and onion naan. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I nearly started crying-- everything was so amazing- good flavor, good spice level. Plus we got complimentary rice pudding which also was incredible.2. The restaurant is family-owned. This makes a huge difference for us, as we would prefer to support local, family-owned businesses. Plus it really does add to the atmosphere when you get to develop a relationship with the owners.3. The service was fantastic. Jasmine served us and was so kind and welcoming, and she was genuinely happy to meet new neighbors. She only had good things to say about the South Philly brethren, too. Plus... complimentary food. That was a nice touch.Nothing bad to report. Seriously, if you like Indian food, you've gotta try this place.“
