Mike's BBQ is Philadelphia BBQ. Out of all the BBQ spots in Philly, Mikes BBQ tops the charts in quality, flavor, atmosphere, and service. It's not only the BBQ thats outstanding here, Mikes's brisket cheese steak is next level. Packed to the brim with a pound of tender brisket, beautifully proportioned with sautéed onions, and smothered over the top with Cooper Sharp cheese, Mike's cheese steak is unmatched. 11/10 for this hole in the wall.
I travel every other week and try the best BBQ places around the country. This week I visited Philadelphia and went to Mike's BBQ. I got there at 3pm and first thought that it was closed. Luckily, I was wrong and it was open. It doesn't look very inviting from the outside, but it's absolutely worth it to go inside. I had pork, brisket and bacon potato salad. The brisket was absolutely delicious. Moist and very flavorful. No BBQ sauce needed. I'd eat a pound of that and take another...read full review

The brisket cheesesteak was good, don't get me wrong, but this place has been called the "best barbecue in the city". As good as it is, I have had better. If the brisket cheesesteak had cheese on the inside (not just on top) and some barbecue sauce brushed on or something it'd probably be way better, it was just really dry. Still a great experience, wouldn't go back for the brisket cheesesteak though.
