“We ate here on a Saturday evening, with a reservation for two at 7.30pm. When we arrived the restaurant was quite full and we had to wait a little while before being seated. At that point, the service was very strong. We tried several dishes, including the salad, miso soup, sashimi plate, nigiri plate, and some hand rolls (mushroom, eel, scallop). We tried the tiramisu, chocolate pudding, and crème caramel for dessert. All in all, the food was tasty, the ambiance was relaxing and pleasant, and service was good. We had a very nice evening.“

Go for the salads (pickled tea leaf salad, pickled ginger salad, fresh tofu salad, crispy yellow tofu salad, samosa thoke), the soups, the curries (pickled mango pork), and the noodle dishes.Tip: if you can, eat in instead of getting takeout—the salads especially are at their absolute best when they are freshly made. (The crispy and crunchy components tend to sog out a little otherwise.)“

The counter desk lady is quick and serious. I ordered the most expensive dish in the menu - galbi bento (Korean short ribs). Decent size portion, enough for a man to get full, meat was fresh with balanced marinade but chewy for me. So, I was not able to eat every piece of meat in whole. Nice place to explore. Would order unagi bowl next time.“

The fish and oysters were excellent. We had the unexpected opportunity to meet and speak with R. Wholey who was very generous with his time in answering questions about the history of the family business. What a treat!Personally observed LW with a broom in hand and doing a quick clean of the stairs then also acting as greeter and host as guests came in. “This place definitely isn’t bad, and I feel the rating is a tad low. Now, I haven’t tried their sushi, but they’re poke bowls — those are quite good, I believe. I tried their Build Your Own Poke bowl, which I created with brown rice, smoked salmon, tempura flakes, soy sauce, carrots, corn, edamame, and sweet chili sauce. The portion itself was good, and a solid price as well. The location is confident, too. The food itself, I felt was pretty good quality. Although they called it smoked salmon, it didn’t have a very strong Smokey flavor, but it was still good. The vegetables seemed to be fresh. The brown rice was well cooked, and the sauces blended together well. They gave me numerous packets of soy sauce on the side. All in all, very solid place. Is it the best or the most authentic? No, but it’s quick, has good prices, a confident location, and solid food.Vegetarian options: You can choose vegetarian proteins and make great bowlsDietary restrictions: Lots of healthy options“

Noodles or fried rice were in the $13 -$16 range and 75% of the other entrees in the $16 - $20 range. Regular sushi rolls were priced between $6 - $9 and most Special Rolls were $15 - $17.We enjoyed the sushi which was comparatively good for the city in an energetic, above average atmosphere for this type of restaurant. A friend introduced me to this restaurant years ago and I’m so glad they are still around. It’s counter service and they only take cash (and FYI, they don’t accept the juror discount vouchers other restaurants in this food court do). Service is brisk and professional. My food was ready in just a few minutes.I always get the kyu-don, and it is DELICIOUS every time. It’s a pretty generous portion of beef, egg, and rice. I like it with the oil added on top to give it a mild spice. I’ve been tempted to try some of the other things on the menu — they all sound good — but the kyu-don is so good I just can’t not have it.I’ll be looking forward to coming back the next time I’m downtown!“

“This place is fantastic!I used to work in SHV, and I would have killed for a sushi joint like this back in those days. Based on the prices and location, I would have never expected such a high quality meal with such a pleasant staff experience. I believe the gentleman who assisted me was named Bawi (I could have misheard). He could not have been more kind and gracious. I was there at the end of the night after a fairly slow weekday for them, and he was telling me how they make all of their Sushi fresh --every single day. Since they would not be carrying any of their pre-prepared rolls into the next day, he sent me home with a few samples of some rolls to try something new and share w/ my family. We loved everything!I highly recommend giving them a chance the next time you find yourself in or around the food court!“

“Definitely make reservations! This place was a lot of fun. At first, it was difficult to navigate the revolving bar and the menu, especially when we missed the things we wanted, but soon we got the hang of it and were stacking up enough small plates to win prizes. With drinks brought by robots and a creative way to have folks bus their own tables through a plate drop slot, the stimulation was constant which elevated the experience. We tried almost every single thing. While nothing was the best we ever had (and you couldn't expect that for the price), almost everything was good enough for a few bites. I wouldn't say this is THE place you should take a sushi lover or where you'd come for a "classy" date but if you're looking for an interactive meal, that doesn't leave you feeling stuffed, and is overall tasty, look no further!“

“While visiting the area for work I came here as I saw they had authentic Szechuan dishes on their menu. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the décor is unlike most other Chinese restaurants, as it's really nice inside. I started with their egg drop soup, which was tasty, with a hint of sesame oil. Next up was their spicy garlic cucumbers, which had a nice kick to them, but weren't spicy. The cucumbers were fresh and there were a lot in the bowl; they tasted even better with a splash of Kikoman on them! The next thing I had was their scallion pancakes - They were the proper thickness and offered a nice crips. The scallion flavor in them was prevalent and they were really good, especially with the black garlic vinegar dipping sauce. Entrée was their cumin beef, with fried rice. The fried rice had egg, but no veggies and it tasted good. The cumin beef was pretty decent, but far from the best flavor of cumin dry wok'd Szechuan food I've ever enjoyed. The veggies were sliced too big and so was the garlic; I prefer thinly sliced garlic, it works so much better in the wok and then tastes great, but bigger chunks of garlic aren't very good in this dish. The beef was tender though. Wasn't very spicy, not as spicy as I'm used to from this dish. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and experience here and would return.“

“I've ordered takeout from Katana a handful of times, and my experience has always been a good one. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. The Crispy Roll is my favorite sushi item. Try adding asparagus to it, and thank me later :) The hibachi is very flavorful, and portions are good. Some highlights were the chicken and steak hibachi, and the chicken katsu. If you try it you won't be disappointed!“
