“Absolutely fabulous bakery to order a custom cake from! I could not be happier with the cake and outstanding customer service. I shared my vision with Tatiana for a custom graduation cake and she did an excellent job. Our guests were wowed! On top of that, she and her team were so accommodating when we had a last minute date change. Thank you, Tatiana and team!”
“We knew nothing about this place except for what we read in Google reviews. So glad we took a chance! Quaint, clean, excellent food and service! We will be back for sure!”
“Very friendly and an OK dine-in area. Many people came in to order/pick up who were clearly regulars. Pizza was good, not great. However, the fried cheese curds and bacon, cheese and ranch fries were delicious! Note that if ordering in, the prices have increased, but the printed menus aren't current.”
“If you build it or in this case name it they will come. Made it to Bees knees for the first time! Coffees were so good that they unfortunately didn't make it home. Yes I drank both that was after my cup of joe at home and ones with breakfast at the sunset west diner up the road. Oh and yes the one had a double shot of expresso in it don't judge it was a long 8 hr work week and late night with MLB openers on the left coast . Yes please I'll have the Ohtani with my Trout ( sorry wrong group ). The set up is not conventional, with the pick up window in the back yard (rear of the building ) Unfortunately I chose the day after a significant rain and obviously did not plan for the off the beaten path pick up situation ( I was wearing my new kicks ! ( hoka ) This is the only reason I docked the joint one star. Please support this business so they can get a landscape makeover. Pea size gravel , crushed stone , pavers , a ramp anything would Bee an upgrade to mushy grass. The coffee with 2 shots in it was my favorite, but the dark bourbon with whole milk was a close second!”
“Great place! If you are into gourmet or local foods or fresh pasta without the toil, they have it. The pasta is top notch and such a variety to try. I wish there were whole wheat options, and more options without garlic but still a great place to shop!”
“Great cheesesteak! I could tell someone knows how to make some food. Roll was soft and great, and the sandwich itself was really good. I was surprised how good of a cheesesteak it was... This place is awesome!Parking: Ample open parking”
“I'd work here but I'd rather be paid in tacos instead of money. I'm deeply upset that this spot has been open for a while and I never had their food until now. I'd buy their food even if I only had a couple dollars to my name. Customer service skills on point. The young man who took the order explained everything and offered great recommendations. 20/10 experience.”
“Their ice cream has always been great. It was better at the old location, they moved many years ago. I actually like Hershey ice cream better. You have to pay to park. The pimento spread is a favorite. I haven't been there since they started charging to park. Parking garage guy was a real ahole to me when I didn't have a ticket because the machine was out of paper. Meh.”
“Best coffee in town. Fresh menu with new specials all the time. Best soft pretzels in Centre County. Best burgers in town. Kindest service around! Restaurant is small but a buzzing, comfortable atmosphere. They have a piano inside and some outdoor tables too. Nothing beats their ingredients & the prices are worth the quality. Bring quarters for parking!”
“Campus Steaks is the best cheesesteak you'll get in the area! The staff are all incredibly friendly and have great recommendations. The chicken cheesesteak was perfect, and I reccomend paying the extra $1 or $2 for the toppings they offer! We will 100% be back many more times.”
“What this restaurant does well, it does particularly well. The carbonara is excellent, and easily their top entrée. The limoncello makes for an excellent dessert. Conversely, other entrées, such as the flounder, are okay but not necessarily the best you'll have. The location's ambience is very inviting, conveying, a sense of intimacy and elegance. The service is very good and attentive. It very much has the feel of a date night destination on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening.”
“I honestly am more than impressed at the service I received. I thought it'd be a simple in and out with what I wanted. I got way more than that! Their cheesecake was incredible and the dumplings they provided complementary were honestly the best dumplings I've ever had anywhere. It was so enjoyable and I enjoyed the experience so much I couldn't help but tip 2/3rds my order. I want people to know about this place because it deserves the attraction. Incredible experience and food.”
“Our waitress was attentive and provided great menu suggestions! We had the baked tomato ricotta, the steak and peppers (which was cooked incredibly!), the sweet corn pa, and coconut rice pudding. So good!”
“So from the perspective of a Lebanese woman: Life changing Halal truck for Middle Easterners in State college!! I’m from Detroit with family in Dearborn and I haven’t found any food out here that can compare to the amazing dishes I eat back home and make myself. UNTIL NOW! This is the best Halal Truck EVER!! The one on Pugh street is a scammin sham compared to these guys!! They’re tucked in a space on Calder by Cafe Alina and I assure you, you will not regret it. The lamb melts in your mouth, the chicken is so savory, fish is phenomenal, the white sauce is ON POINT, and they make their own homemade hot sauce!! And they’re so nice!! I found this place about a week and a half ago and have been there about seven times since ? Please check them out!!Seriously. Better than penn kabob, penn pide, totally blows pita cabana out the water, and makes the other trucks look like a joke. I know my Arab food ?”
“Great drinks, and that's all there needs to be. Love the matcha, and the fruit tea selections are amazing! Menu is clear and lets you easily make any edits. Have not had the food, but have heard only good things about it. One of the best new tea places in State College, though it can be pricy.”
“Went to Bonfire Old Fashioned BBQ tonight for fish. Wow, what a great experience. Guy directed us in, held the door, welcomed us, seated us and we didn’t have one server, we had several. The guy (I’m guessing owner manager) cheerfully gave us a sample of their chili over creamy Mac n cheese. It’s a specialty of theirs. Superb. Husb had fish dinner and I had fish sandwich. Superb. Multiple people checked on us several times, free drink refills without a wait. We were thanked for coming in and I believe the lady of the place escorted us out an exit they don’t use on regular basis because it was closer to where we parked and flat covered walk for my husband walking with a cane. We wanted dessert but no room; servings are awesome. We’re going back some evening just to have a treat. Clean, warm atmosphere, spacious seating, great food and service as well as appropriate pricing. Highly recommend. Thank you to the entire staff and kudos to the cook(s) for a very delightful dinner hour. We’ll be back. Lots on menu we want to try!!Parking: Plenty of parking both sides of the building.Kid-friendliness: We didn’t have kids along but overheard the welcome that was given to families. Kid menu very nice.”
“Vibe is a perfect college town coffee shop. The workers are friendly, the atmosphere is ideal, and the coffee is top notch. I've only eaten a blueberry muffin there, but it was great, and I would imagine their other food is quality too. Highly highly recommend to anyone living in or visiting State College/Penn State.Parking: There's free street parking right around the corner on Barnard Street. Free for 2 hours.Kid-friendliness: My 4-year-old sat there with me, no problems.”
“Chicken tikka bowl was a large portion of well-seasoned, high-quality chicken breast with rice and minced salad. I highly recommend this place if you want authentic flavors.”
“First time visiting and it was a cool experience. I’m not much of a beer person but I actually enjoyed their selections. It was a very busy time yet the service was great and prompt. The vibe of the space is really cool and very clean. I’ll be back!”
“This is a very cute spot to dine in or take to go! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches & added Italian sausage to them. We also go a cafe freddo (iced latte) and two macarons. The place is nicely set up & has a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly & helpful even when it was busy. Check this local place out if you’re coming through bellefonte!”
“Top notch on everything - Food, Service, and Atmosphere are all incredible at Juana's. Thank you to the family for a wonderful pabellón arepa and an experience I won't forget. Don't skip Juana's while you're in town. Truly a special place.”
“Been coming here for over 20 years, still my #1 choice! The Original Waffle Shop on West College Ave has been a State College staple for me for as long as I can remember. They've consistently delivered delicious breakfasts and lunches for over two decades. Whether I'm back in town for a visit or just passing through, it's always my go-to spot. Highly recommend their sandwiches and their waffles (of course!), but everything on the menu is fantastic. Don't miss it! 5 stars!”
“Sher Halal Gyro has become a personal favorite for its consistently fresh, halal, and delicious meals. One of the most remarkable aspects is the speed and efficiency with which they operate. Despite the fast-paced nature of street food, the team never compromises on quality or taste. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite on your lunch break or indulging in a leisurely meal, you can count on prompt and courteous service. The staff is always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting, making you feel welcome from the moment you approach the cart.”
“One of my favorite cafe/bakery. Black sesame latte and black sesame cake is amazing. I highly recommend these products especially if you have never tried.Additionally, their Taiwanese pineapple pie is wonderful. As I know, the owner/baker is Taiwanese. As a person who traveled Taiwan twice staying over a month, I can guarantee it is also very authentic. Good for a gift (they give a cute box for it).Very nice staffs. You can reserve whole cake in advance, too.”
“I was there a day or two ago. For the first time. I have been missing out on so much. I loved this place. It had exceeded my expectations. I had an omelet and It was great. As was our server and the cleanliness of the establishment.”
“The omelette that I had here was perfectly cooked. It wasn’t overdone and it also wasn’t mushy. The space is clean, and the servers are attentive. This is definitely a cute spot, and I will be dining here again in the future!”
“Not a bad thing to say about Boal City Brewing. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The beer was all top notch, a delicious blend of dark beers, everything was cold and wonderful. I could have spent the day and I would have been happy. Definitely will be a must stop when in the area.”
“This is a little gem of a creamery. I tend to spread the love around between all of the local creameries (Reedsville, Old Mill, Meyers), which we are so lucky to have so many, but Meyers is my main love. It's been around since I can remember, and no other creamery has better chocolate milk, NONE. Ice cream is top-notch as well. They carry other fun, locally sourced goods as well, like Cafe Lemont coffee (best local coffee, IMO) and Otto's soda, among other things. Stop in. Get a scoop (or a shake). Do some shopping. You won't be disappointed.”
“Went here to try someplace new, and it was like finding treasure, the food was great and the restaurant was so clean and cozy. I ordered the basil ribeye and it was delicious. What I really liked about the place was that there were swing seats, how cool is that!!”
“We were visiting here and I wanted to try something new and this place was perfect. If you love pastries like I do be sure to check this place. The owners are very kind and welcoming.I had the ff:Potato and Mushroom Borek Bites - I’m not a big fan of mushrooms but this one is really good. You can see the mushrooms and taste it but it’s doesn’t have that super mushroomy flavor that I don’t like. It was actually good!Baked Chicken Turnover - This was my fav! I love turnovers and this one is just perfect for me. The chicken was flavorful and they served it perfectly warm (not too hot inside).Baklava - There wasn’t a lot of filling, it was more of dough. I would give this 3.5/5 since I had a really good one somewhere else last night to compare with ?. This is a bigger size though.Coffee- perfect!I would love to try all the food if I could ?Lastly it was a bit chilly inside. I didn’t bring my coat inside thinking it will be warmer. I first sat on the bar stools but got so cold so I moved. It was more of when people open the door but I wish there’s more heat inside.Overall, highly recommended and will surely be back when we visit here again.”
