“My husband and I fell in love with this local spot as soon as we walked in. Small town diners are a favorite of ours and this one had plenty of charm! I wish I could give them 50/5 stars! The staff was immediately warm and friendly. We had burgers for breakfast and couldn't believe how good they were. We came by on several occasions within a couple of weeks and everything we tried was a hit and felt like it was homecooked. There's only 4 booths and a counter so beware you might be waiting for seating on a busy day. But I promise you will not be disappointed by this spot.”

“Mixed grill with flank steak, maduros, crab cake (wow) and grilled shrimp prepared with skill and spectacular flavor profiles - each distinct and complimentary as a meal. Regret not ordering the fried rice but next time that's a must.Don't let the basic tables & chairs, early and spare atmosphere discourage you. They are putting out the food and locals are seeing their neighbors here again and again.What a discovery that's also hard to find! Thank their competitor restaurants who said, "Big Mombos - Best in the area."”

“We have been here several times since they have opened. We were so excited when they first opened. The food was amazing and the staff was so accommodating! However our last 2 visits were extremely disappointing, our waitress was straight up rude so much so that we said we weren’t going back. We gave it another try after that and the food was very off, overdone and one of the dishes didn’t even contain the ingredients stated on the menu. I hope that they can get back to the quality they had when they first started out.”

“Been there a few times with different groups of people and decided it was time to write. This has been a shockingly pleasant surprise! I avoided this location for years when it was a small, local run down bar. I only recently discovered it was completely renovated into a nice restaurant with an owner who clearly cares about ensuring the place remains high quality. The food has been spectacular. We've tried a variety of dishes, from burgers, pulled pork, a chicken sandwich, a shrimp dish, scallops, fresh cut fries, mac and cheese, and a lobster roll. All of is has been great. No complaints from anyone! What a gem for the Sunbury area! Definitely not typical for this area. The cooking staff still care about their craft. (To the staff - please don't lose your passion!) The atmosphere is down to earth, not pretentious, friendly, and warm. Good mix of classic rock always playing in the background. The servers have always been very kind, patient, and friendly. The drinks... the Peach LIT is absolutely amazing. Not a lot of dessert choices which is just fine given I'm usually quite full by the end. But, I did try the PB chocolate pie... oh so good. HIGHLY recommended!”

“I wish this place was closer to me because it's probably my favorite sub shop! The staff there are always so friendly and get your orders taken care of as quickly as they're able to with how crowded they get. They have a small bar around where they make the subs for dining in as well as 2 or 3 tables. It is self-serve, you order at the counter and then grab it from the counter when it's finished. If ordering takeout it is best to order ahead to avoid wait time however, they still get things together pretty darn quickly. They have chips and bottled drinks in a cooler. Their cosmos are my favorite! This is an older photo but the consistency is there every single time.Parking: The business is downtown on the main Street in sunbury with metered parking out front. Sometimes it does get crowded and you have to park down/up a block or two. Depending upon the time you go, you will have to feed the meter.”

“The food was amazing, far exceeding our expectations based on the outside appearance of the building. It's cozy inside and the service was outstanding. I recommend reservations because it's a small restaurant and it's amazing so you take a chance of not being seated for a while if you don't make a reservation. It's definitely worth the trip!”

“Simply incredible. Outrageously delicious Hershey’s ice cream shakes. Barbecue the likes of which you’ve never seen: ribs, pulled pork, brisket, wings, and so much more.Outstanding sides like a top notch Mac n cheese, baked potatoes, and as usual, much more.Fantastic BBQ sauce options for all.I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Lovely people run the place, too. RUN, do NOT WALK to Southern BBQ. You won’t regret it.”

“This was our first time ordering. We had wings and cheese fries. It was a busy Saturday night and we got delivery, it took a while but it was well worth the wait. Amazing food.. still hot and the deliver guy was so nice. We have a new spot! I am a wing snob… these were perfect!!!”

“Some of THE best BBQ I’ve had. We had an even catered and everything from the first email, to the estimate, to the food and service was perfection! They take pride in what they make and it’s delicious. I highly recommend Bubba Joe’s for any of your bbq needs for events. The brisket was super tender and juicy, as was the pork and chicken. So much flavor. He makes his own sauces which were fantastic, and our sides like the Mac n cheese, beans, cornbread and peach cobbler were great. They brought their own homemade sweet tea and the veggie trays were great!”

“We heard good things about the new restaurant and wanted to try it. It just so happened to be raining hard the last few days and local roads and bridges were closed due to flooding. The restaurant posted on FB that they were closing but we didn’t see it. We arrived and the owner was there, sat us, gave us free beer and made pizzas by himself and didn’t charge us. Never had such good service. Will definitely be back!”
