We sat upstairs and enjoyed our dinner while watching the Super Bowl football game - Everyone here does a fantastic job - I am very appreciative in all of the workers the hotel - (Morgan * Edwin * Matt ) in kitchen where I mostly stayed w my time - thank you again .”

“I've been here a few times, it's a fun place to bring people because of the whole speakeasy vibe. They don't take reservations so it's hit or miss if you can actually get in. Drinks are hit or miss for me too. Over time I've done drinks from the menu and the bartenders choice. I know it sounds silly but I really dislike the ice they use! It's like ice chips which cheapens the drinks, which seems to go against the suave swanky vibe. I got the pickle mule this time though and really liked it.”

By the way, if your server is Air, be prepared because she is the absolute best server I have came across in any restaurant. I worked in the service industry myself, and to come across someone like Air is truly a blessing. She is so friendly, goes above and beyond, and always ensures the best customer service. “It's an authentic mom & pop Mexican trattoria , which is a must visit. Esp for their Buffalo pizza, of all things.It's the best pizza I've eaten, maybe due to the fact that it was made in a wood fired ovenOur nachos were a bit too drenched in cheese , but it's a personal choice.Soup was good and warmRed snapper was crispy and baked to perfection in the wood fired ovenEnchiladas were made with corn tortillas, but delicious.I'd love to come back.The host/owner is a delight to meet.His love and care in food prep, service and customer dealing is warm and jovial.”

“First time dining. Our server was Sergio and he was great. The owner was also in the store expressing his passion which was great to see. We wanted to try traditional dishes other than tacos/burritos and ordered molcajetes. Out of all the meats, shrimp and chicken were my favorites. Drinks are on a sweeter note and foods big portions. Ambiance is cozy but spacious. Ill be back for more dishes for sure! Pretty place overall :)”

“Cozy restaurant with a lot of energy. Hold off on eating the complementary bread because you'll need it for the outstanding mussel appetizer. Another must order is the orecchiette. One of the best pastas I've had in Philadelphia. The lamb shank was just ok. Unfortunately I just recently had it at another Philly restaurant and it was so much better. Barramundi which was a special was a huge disappointment. I've never seen so many things added to a fish dish to overwhelm what I consider to be an amazing fish. This is my second time at this restaurant where the entrees feel short. Stick to the appetizers and pastas. Service was outstanding.”

Bonus points for being incredibly family friendly- we were offered a high chair right away when we entered, and everyone on staff was extremely kind and sweet with our one year old daughter. “I would give 6 stars if I could!!! Such a great addition to Havertown! The food is delicious, love the vibe and the service is amazing!!! The pineapple express wings were AMAZING! I saw some instagram stories saying to get them and our server Marissa (who was the sweetest by the way) sealed the deal by saying awesome they were- she was right!!! I am not a huge wing person and could have eaten 20 of them! The guac is so good and fresh; served with warm chips. My husband and I both got fajitas- shrimp and steak, soooo good! Also the cucumber marg was great, strong (not mad about that) and delicious! Adding this in because my husband is a huge sports guy- the Phillies ended and within minutes they put on March Madness games- no awkward gap where you're watching infomercials for hours (it is his pet peeve haha). So happy that Al Pastor is in town! Can't wait to return!”

“Finally got to try out Friday Saturday Sunday and overall had a good time, but wasn't blown away. Service was solid throughout and the drinks we tried were all tasty. My issue is that, when compared with other similar multi course options in Philly at the same price range, I wasn't impressed with the food. Everything was prepared perfectly fine, but overall dishes were either on the blander side (such as the fish and desserts) or odd (such as the sweetbread). The tortellini was fantastic though and a standout.Would I come back? Sure, if friends wanted to go. But there are other prix fixe restaurants I prefer in Philly at the moment.”

“We've been here several times since it opened, and have experienced good service and food each time. Several of the dishes have been on the menu each time, but some have been tweaked with different ingredients, making them a little different (even though the original was already worth trying again). The "Brown Butter" dessert, the name of which sounded rather unappetizing on our first visit, turned out to be one of the highlights. Definitely try it. Prices are also reasonable, for a more upscale establishment.Kid-friendliness: It's a quiet, intimate environment. Go for a date night and leave the kids with a sitter.”

All I can say is no matter your distance, it's worth the trip for this place. I am ~35 mins away and I will go the distance. “Tried this place out for the first time last night, first when you walk in, the atmosphere is very inviting, all the staff is super friendly and you can see by how they work, they put the same amount of attention in all the food they put out. Had their large plain square pizza and it was delicious, the crust was crispy but also soft and chewy on the inside and had great flavor, the sauce tasted amazingly fresh. Also had their hand breaded wings, and they were amazing as well, nice and crispy on the outside, but not over cooked on the inside, I feel like some places either have wings super crispy on the outside, but the inside is dry, or the outside is soggy but the inside is fine. Johnny's has hit that sweet spot in regards to the texture of their wings. Seriously consider checking out the gem of a place.”
