“a very good place, pleasant and with delicious dishes! except that when I ordered my bill, I didn't have money for the tips and the waiter told me, he was super angry with me because of that! he started to say to me “why don’t you give me tips?” when I explained to him, very politely, that I work at $15.25 and that this specific day I didn't have the money in the account for the tips, he simply ignored the rest of the order, with such an unpleasant face! An unpleasant attitude for a person trying the restaurant for the first time! Talk to the employees about this. The tips are a plus, I'm not obliged to give him, it's not an obligation!“

“My wife, son (9) and I are Americans who visit Quebec annually to see my wife's relatives in Longueuil. We spend time in Montreal and do a few nights in Quebec City. This time we were looking for a place to stop and eat and spend time so on the way from MTL to QC we stopped in Trois-Rivieres both times. We ate at this place on the way back.We were hungry and made a late lunch our main meal of the day. My son started with a Caesar salad that was good except for some reason there were a ton of croutons. This had to be a funny mistake because the salad had to have been at least half croutons. Luckily they were good croutons so he offloaded some to my wife who had ordered a soup (see below) and to me since I lacked a starter. My son then ordered the pasta carbonara which looked good in photos and on the tables of other guests. My wife and I tried it as well and agreed with our son (who loves pasta) that for carbonara, it was too heavy on the thickness/creaminess and with too strong of a bacon flavor. It was good, however, in an indulgent, almost macaroni and cheese sort of way. I had a filet mignon sandwich served in the style of a burger with fries accompany it. I thought it odd that our server, who was nice as well as attentive (bilingual English-French), did not ask me how I wanted it cooked. I thought about this well after my order was placed. When the sandwich arrived the filet mignon was perfectly cooked medium, light pink inside with what seemed like the searing of a flat grill on both sides. It was ridiculously tender, around 1/2 inch thin, and it was served hot. The aioli, lettuce and bun were all perfect. The fries were ridiculously good. Canadians don't mess around with their French fries. These weren't frozen; they were good white potatoes that had almost a sweet flavor. As a starter my wife had the soup of the day, which was a cream of mushroom soup that tasted exactly like mushrooms (in a good way). She loves that sort of thing and after tasting it I figured that if I were as hungry as she claimed to be, I would have ordered it ahead of my sandwich since beef and mushrooms are such a great complement. For an entree my wife had a grilled chicken plate with some kind of sauce atop potato wedges and vegetables. She said it was good, not dry, and perfect for what she wanted, which was something lighter than a beef dish or a carb-heavy dish. She did eat a lot of my fries and remarked how good they were. In addition to that we only had soft drinks but all in all the food was good and exactly what we needed on a road trip.“
