“This was my first time visiting and I was really impressed. My bowl was delicious. The employees were helpful in selecting the items for the bowl and answering any questions I had. They offer bowls, wraps, salads, and tacos. They also have samosas, chips with hummus, and a variety of gourmet drinks. There is some seating inside and 15 minute parking is offered.“
“Very good although corporate. They didn't have any real black tea (I usually order Darjeeling or Lapsang Souchong when I go to Indian restaurants) just flavoured versions or chai. The food is good here although a bit pricey. It IS in a very trendy shopping zone so give it a try. Beats Applebees!“
“Came here for weekend buffet. Loved the food, the atmosphere and the new management. Goat curry was out of this world. Chicken biriyani and Dessert was too good as well. Loved the food so much placed a carry out order for a small get together at our place the following day.“
“The absolute best Indian food in Rhode Island. We tried every Indian restaurant since moving here from California 2 years ago where Indian restaurants are plentiful. The service is excellent and the food is absolutely fantastic. I recommend everything they make. The food is fresh and flavorful. My faves are the tandoori chicken, veggie briyani, mango chicken and many more. The Naan is perfect. We've been eating here for two years and have never had a negative experience. Love this place. Try the chicken mushroom soup and thank me later.Vegetarian options: Excellent option for flavorful vegetarian dishes.“
“A truly incredible amount of delicious food! Our waiter Nick was hilarious and so kind! Gave us spot on recommendations throughout the menu and was around exactly when we needed him- no more, no less, and with a smile every time! Thank you, Nick, and the whole team! What a treat!! I hope this review helps others enjoy equally lovely nights at India!“
“We got takeout from here a couple days ago. The person over the phone was very kind and helpful and the food was delicious!! Especially the chickens and lamb masala dishes! We will definitely be going again when we’re in the mood for Indian food!“
“I've been coming to rasoi for years. They never disappoint! The food is delicious, fresh, authentic, and amazing portions. I got the cauliflower as an appetizer - must try ! I love the honey ginger Naan and my favorite is the madras chicken! They also ask what level of spice you are looking for. The flavors blend amazing together. The restaurant is always clean, welcoming and lively. Highly recommend this location!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options!Dietary restrictions: They have a lot of options!“
“My kiddo and I had a very lovely early dinner here after a day of shopping. I'd been here before but only for lunch. Dinner was exquisite! Easily the best vindaloo I've ever had, and I have been to a ton of NYC's best Indian restaurants. My kiddo had samosas and the malai kofta and loved it! We both walked out stuffed to the gills, and the sweet server even offered my kid a couple of chocolates. Love this place!“
“Ordered the chicken biryani and was not disappointed! It was excellently prepared. The chicken was tender and juicy and the rice was cooked to perfection. This was my first time here and I went medium spicy. Will def try hot next time. The garlic naan was also very nice and aromatic. The only thing I didn't expect was them adding 20% gratuity for a party of 3 (I typically tip more) but other than that it was an excellent experience. Be aware the credit card machine will also ask you to enter a tip after so check your bill.“
“If you are looking for a larger Indian restaurant with a hostess, fancy decor, and some scheduled belly dancing for entertainment, this is not it. If you are seeking really well prepared, authentic Indian food, in a cozy neighborhood spot, then this is the place you seek.I've seen this place when it first opened. I remember making a mental note to go in then just kept forgetting about it. Well, seeing that it still exists about 3 years later, I was convinced there is something special about it so this time, I headed in.Chennai Express is hands down, the best Indian restaurant in RI. Step into the small spot for ordering to-go or dining in, and your nose will be treated to the fragrant, mouthwatering aroma of dishes being prepared in the kitchen. I walked in and sat down on an empty table to peruse the menu for a to-go order. It was a challenge picking which dish to order as the menu presented a host of delicious options--from the more popular Indian dishes, to very authentic sounding appetizers and entrees. I wanted them all. Ultimately, I decided on Shrimp Biryani, Butter Chicken, and Nellore Fish Curry. These did not disappoint at all. The rice and chicken were not dry and the sauce were so flavorful. While waiting for my order, I have witnessed how busy Chennai is for take out. There's a quick cycle of pick up orders on the counter. A small group sat occupied two of the four 4-seater tables. I cannot help but look at their orders, taking note of the dishes for my next visit (yes, I was already planning coming back even before getting my order).Tip: Bring some cash so you avoid paying a surcharge. They take Venmo, too.I get home and excitedly open my package...mmm...worth the wait. Chennai Express is the real deal.“
“I visited on Sunday during the buffet and couldn't believe how many different foods were available. I chose to get the buffet to go and was presented with a large plate with about 10 sections so I was able to try a lot of different dishes. The food was absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed the usual tikka marsala choices but my very favorite dish was the ginger fish! I would go back just for the fish! Luckily with the buffet you will get to try over 20 different choices! Dessert was amazing and the people working there were extremely friendly and helpful! One of my new favorite spots for Indian food!“
“The best items on their menu are undoubtedly the Chicken Biryani, Samosa Chaat, Chicken Karhai, and Kheer. The Samosa Chaat has the right blend of sweet and tangy which is very rare to find in most of US. Chicken Biryani is very authentic Indian/Pakistani type. The Kheer is to die for. I’ve been a regular customer for the last 3 years and the owner is also a really nice person. He remembers what I order and sometimes sends free samples too! :) it’s rare to find that these days.“
“Our personal favorite Indian restaurant in all of Rhode Island. The owner and crew are always working hard to ensure your palette is delighted. We often host family Birthday parties here as they have a private room for large groups. There are usually 10 or more of us and everyone leaves fat and happy! The samosas are a delight and are able to be purchased for take home as well.I Love their Mattar Paneer as well as their honey and ginger Nan. Those who want their dish milder in our family choose the Butter Chicken!Their Nan variety is excellent with light and fluffy breads. A must have!#RockFromRI“
“I cannot even begin to emphasize how good the food is here! The absolute best indian food i've ever had! I went during the weekend buffet and the variety and authentic indian flavors are unmatched. such good food for such a good price!! the workers here are also very friendly and make sure you're well taken care of. the atmosphere here is also great!! I will definitely be back! 12/10 would definitely recommend!!“
“I had to pick up and order for doordash and asked what the drink was that came with the order...I was told it's mango lassie ( which ive never heard of but it looked deliciously creamy like a creamsicle) and was offered one for myself! I of course said thank you and gave it a try. My goodness I'm so glad I tried it! It's AMAZING!!! Think creamy and sweet without being "too much" subtle but fantastic! I guarantee this will be an all the time stop in for me! Can't wait to try the food!!!“
“Punjab is an awesome restaurant featuring Indian and Himalayan cuisine. The authentic food, decor, and reasonable prices makes this place a great spot for a meal. Punjab feels like a hole in the wall and is a great place to taste Indian food for the first time, or try something new!“
