Duffy's Tavern & Restaurant

We had been going to Duffy’s for years and unfortunately the pandemic must have been to much for them. It appears they are no longer open for busses. They had the best seafood, always fresh and delicious. The portions were always generous, and when you left you were always full. Although I have lived in Rhode Island for 50 years, I was born in San Francisco, and have for many years had a longing for Dungeness Crab. This crab does not travel well (unlike King ), and after a number of disappointments, I gave up. I looked up "Dungeness Crab RI" and found only one place--Duffy's Tavern in NK. While visiting friends over Christmas, we stopped in at Duffy’s as they wanted for me to experience real New England seafood especially the chowder. I greatly enjoyed the entire experience! I ordered corn chowder with shrimp and scallops and clam cakes on the side. The serving was huge and delicious! I also had a great time visiting with the owner, Stu. What a fascinating character! I learned a great deal about local seafood and the area. A truly wonderful experience.
