We were very disappointed in our dinner experience. Waiter was slow to take our order, the appetizer came before bread was offered. The wine we wanted was out of stock. The mashed potatoes on three dishes were congealed and not hot. The scallops Oscar style were too salty, messily presented and the four asparagus pieces on top were pencil thin and there very little crab on top. After the steaks and meal were served there was no follow up to ask if everything was prepared as expected. I finished the bill and the waiter rushed to get the bill reaching across me and taking it from under my elbow citing he was going on vacation. I've been here many times and this was markedly different and disappointing dining experience.
Fabulous dinner last night. Loved the Ceilo Rubi cocktail, the delicious oysters and the paella. My boyfriend also loved his lobster bisque and seafood casserole. Beautiful ambiance in the back corner of the restaurant overlooking the river. Danny definitely made our dinning experience even better. He was so personable and enthusiastic about all the offerings. We'll be back!

This was an excellent overall experience. I would totally go back again!! The view of the river was magnificent and the staff were amazingly attentive and courteous. I had the Caesar salad to start, the scallops pan seared, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Like can't stop thinking about delicious. Additionally, the Hemingway gem cocktail was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

We are regulars here The food is usually fabulous. Last night was an exception. My husband had the special pasta with seafood and it was dreadful. I had a piece of salmon that was perfect. Our waiter Robert was delightful - but that pasta was inedible.
Reservations were easy to obtain. Restaurant was beautiful, clean, quiet, staff was very attentive. Shelby was an amazing server with great recommendations! Can't wait to go to all their other restaurant and markets!

The ceviche was great and the yellow fin tuna as well. I liked everything else I tried. The service though...I wish I had the server at the other table had she went over the special and was a lot nicer to her tables.I wish I knew about the tuna tartar nachos before I ordered the appetizers.Did I mention I am here to celebrate my anniversary?Anyway I liked the food maybe next time I will have a better server otherwise I'm not coming back at all
Our experience was excellent as always. James, the host, is always so welcoming. We were a table of 7 celebrating a young woman from Pakistan who had just become a US citizen. Hemenway's Restaurant was the perfect place to celebrate. Our waitress took very good care of us and made Haleema feel very special....which she is.

I've been going to Hemenway's for over 30 years. Never had a bad experience or meal. The staff is professional, courteous and respectful. I would recommend to anyone and have!!

We made reservations for 5:00 pm so we could make it in time for a 7:00 pm show. We were not alone in our thinking as the restaurant was filling up. Our server Brian was fabulous! He recommended a few appetizers and main dishes and gave up plenty of time to make our decisions. Both the stuffed shrimp and flounder mains were delicious. The lobster bisque and warm rolls were outstanding. We will return and recommend.

We had the best time at Hemenway's. My kids were home to see a show in Providence so we went there for early dinner. It was not just delicious it was such a great experience for them. They had never been and loved everything about it.
