Quaint little authentic Italian grocer and deli, serving up delicious affordable sandwiches, panini, wraps, pizzas, and variety of other hot foods. Amongst the other fancier busier options blocks away on federal hill, this might be smaller but you certainly will not be disappointed by either the food or service! There is also ample seating in the dining area to enjoy the yum yums on site!Pastry counter offers a solid selection of treats, which will pair wonderfully with the perfect espresso!Cold cuts were sliced perfectly thin and expertly packaged with precision, prepare to wait a bit if there is a line, but 100% worth it!

I LOVE Roma! Maybe even more than other similar places on Federal Hill, and here's why:They ALWAYS have prepared eggplant rollatini, not just sometimesTheir hot food bar is inexpensive and deliciousThe bakery counter has excellent Italian cookies and pastriesThe staff is WONDERFUL!There is a very nice dining space for you to take your delicious food and sit and eat in peace or with friends. They make a VERY nice cappuccino

That place across the street from Tony's Colonial, but inferior in almost every way. The lady was counting cash, and then grabbed my pizza slice crust with her bare hands with no glove. I wish there were better sanitation practices! I had to call out the cashier to use gloves for proper handling if she was going to handle my food with her dirty hands. The pepperoni slice is standard. Nothing amazing or worth going out of your way for. Similar to a sbarros, but better. I wouldn't prioritze eating here but its overall just OK.

Roma has been open since 1983, and for good reason as their pastries are outstanding! I grew up on Sfogliatelle and they have some of the best I've ever had -- super crunchy and flaky exterior, with a light and creamy filling that has the perfect hint of candied orange. I pride myself on being a cannoli connoisseur and I have to say that their cannoli is some of the best I've ever had. I was worried because they don't fill them on the spot, but rather they're prefilled in the case; however, the shell was still super crunchy and fresh, and the filling was silky with only a slight grain from the ricotta. I also appreciate that they don't put chocolate chips in the filling. Staff was super friendly in this quaint little shop. You can also get breads, canned sauces, and other Italian provisions. Even meats and cheeses!Follow @bigtastebestplace on Instagram for more.

Went to Federal Hill for Columbus Day Festival and got couple slices pizza from Roma. They were so good but then needed a cannoli. Well I looked at reviews and Roma had good ones so I went in and got 2 cannolis. Am I ever glad they were the best cannolis I have ever had. They were full all the way through which is unusual. The filling was the best I have ever had. It was creamy and delicious I wish I could get one every day.

Lovely shop with plenty of options and attentive staff! I would definitely love to come back for more items and specialty foods. There is also a large space for eating after ordering the food. We tried the following items:Stromboli with spinach, cheese, and cured meats: massive portion filled with spinach and other goodiesArancini with bolognese: crunchy after rehearing and quite rich Fig pie slab: super sweet and filled with fig jam, the pastry shell is very hard so it's a bit awkward to eat, probably not recommended Cream puff like pastry: tastes like a cannoli and cream puff! Filled with a cream that isn't too sweet Cream soda: sweet and refreshing, made locally I believe

This is a great place to go if you need your own ingredients like salami and cheeses to make a nice antipasto. The prepared foods are good but shouldn't be a compelling reason to visit.

This is an Italian style market and grocery store in Federal Hill, close to Venda and Tony's. The three of them compete for shoppers looking for the best quality and best deal on Italian meats, prepared foods, groceries and pastries. I have been here many times and even though is the smallest of the three neighborhood markets, they do have a good selection of items that can easily be enjoyed at a picnic somewhere in the vicinity of our city. The staff at the deli and cheese counter is not very friendly but they will get whatever you ask them for. The lady at the bakery section is usually more friendly.

Cute little local Italian shop on the famous Atwells Ave. There's no shortage of Italian places there but this shop has a local feel with reasonable prices. I had their calzone but it looked more like a Stromboli to me. Whatever its called it was delicious with broccoli rabe, cheese, and Italian deli meats. Friendly staff and I would stop buy again for a quick service lunch. Also picked up some pastries for dessert.

If there was a 0 star this restaurant would definitely be getting it. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich which was very greasy. In the garbage it went. Then I ordered these veggie spring rolls. They were in a 1/2 inch of grease at the bottom of the container. I took them out to maybe save them and put them on paper towels to soak the grease up. But there was no saving these! I can't believe a long time restaurant on the hill let's their food go out like this! It's a real shame! These are so disgusting just looking at these makes me want to barf!!

I wanted to love Roma so much but I've given them too many shots at this point. The food is usually pretty good (I always get subs or pizza) but the service is terrible. I've probably ordered 5 or 6 times since I moved to the neighborhood and every time I've waited 20-40 minutes past my assigned pickup time. Today I showed up with 2 minutes left in my pickup window and they hadn't even started making my order - it was just a small pizza. I was told it'll be 10 minutes when I walked in, and they looked busy so I understood. That was until I realized after about 7 minutes that the guy from the deli counter got called over to start making the pizza, from scratch (dough hadn't even been rolled out). They're not understaffed there either, I counted 7 people behind the one counter - 4 were eating while serving customers. A guy who took over my pizza was popping something into his mouth out of his bare hand as he was making it. Icing on the cake: After I finally got the pizza going on 25 minutes late, I get home to find a long black hair baked into the cheese. I'm all set with Roma but really hope they turn it around. Bad service can kill any great business.

Don't go here. I've been going to this place for months. 80% chance if you order take out, it's going to be done over an hour after they say it was. Go get Casertas or anything else. Oh and they got my order wrong too.

Come here for an iced vanilla latte or amaretto gelato! We didn't eat in, but the food at the restaurant looked great, too. Be sure to pop by here !

They got some of the best pizza around and sandwiches, and I almost forgot the pastry's bomb!

I'm a local business manager, me and my coworkers been coming here for a few years now and always enjoyed the food and service. We maybe come once per week and cater a couple times a year. Rented out the banquet room upstairs even for a holiday party a couple years back for 60+ people and we were considering it again this year... Just went in for a slice on my way home on a Sunday and when I asked the cook how long, he said it'd be a while to have a pizza ready. No worries, I'm in a rush so I just turned to leave. The guy apparently was offended I didn't wait and felt the need to yell something sarcastic at me as I'm walking out loud enough for the whole place to stop and look at him then over at me as I walk out the door shaking my head. Grow up and take your ego off the menu. Atwells is saturated with plenty of other nice Italian establishments with good food and people. You lost more than just my business today and your drunk old "regulars" on the sidewalk out front won't keep the place afloat forever. Two pity-stars for past good experiences and no complaints about food/pricing.
