A somewhat difficult place to review if you are at all familiar with the now defunct Rocky Point chowder house. Nostalgia aside this place is just ok clam cakes are close to the original but the chowder was served a bit tepid, never a good thing for what should be hot chowder. The grounds have tables etc but it makes one dream of overlooking the bay at the original location, so like I said unfortunately you find yourself comparing and it shouldn't be that way. The poor rating is because they post a sign that says no pets allowed yet all seating is an outdoor patio. They really need to get with the times because many restaurants have added outdoor seating and your pet is welcome. Today I had to lock my 7 lb Maltese in the car while I went to get food and it totally irritated me. Next time it will be Iggy's.
I like the combo of white chowder and clam cakes...the cakes are a smaller size but very tasty and loaded with clams unlike other more popular ocean front eateries who give you mostly batter inside and No clams
