Very nice. Not quite as good as some of the other Poogans, but still a good place for dinner. The food was just a tad lacking, and with all the amazing choices on town, it’s hard to say this one is a must visit.Shrimp and grits was decent, but there are better ones in town. Nice staff, good atmosphere, just a tad pricey for the quality.

The food at this restaurant is delicious. We had the fillet and salmon and both were excellent. We ate in the upstairs dinning room and it was cozy comfortable. The character and history of this home makes the dinning experience very especial. The hostess on the other handat this restaurant could try to make eye contact with the customers for a more Southern friendly approach and first impression.Parking: Parking garage almost across the street from the restaurant.

Chose the catch of the day special, the food was nice but then I found a huge hair in my grit cake (part of the entree).I complained to the waiter and said I’d like that part of the dish replaced. It did arrive but by the time I got a replacement I’d finished the rest of my fish and asparagus. The check arrived and it was full price, I’d at least expect to have had the drinks taken off or something by way of an apology, there were only 2 of us at the table so not a huge drink bill anyway but a gesture would have been nice.Poor service, felt forgotten about being sat out front.

The food has changed. I have eaten there several times for the barbecue mahi-mahi and it was wonderful, tonight it as served with a hot sauce Maui over grits and collards. Two thumbs down, horrible.

Excellent food and service. Chicken and waffles were exceptional. Biscuits are flakey, soft, and warm. Like a cozy comforter on a cold morning.

Went on a Monday around 11am. We were relieved there was no wait and we were seated right away. We ordered basics - brioche French toast and waffles with fried chicken - and not only did it take a VERY long time for the food to be delivered to our table it was all underwhelming and dry. We needed more syrup (which is not normal for us) but by the time our server came to check on us we had given up and were nearly done with our meals. The coffee was also very weak. Based on other reviews we were really disappointed overall.

Waiter was very nice but nothing we ordered was good, not even the biscuits or banana pudding.

We were a bit disappointed with the meal, especially with all the hype. Fried green tomatoes had not flavor, same with fried chicken, although juicy and tender it lacked flavor. Expected much more. Then my pecan pie ended up having alcohol in it, and I don’t drink. Ended the night not impressed, won’t go back when we visit again. Our server Conor was excellent, he did a great job and wrote nothing down!

Service and atmosphere was excellent. We waited about 30 minutes with no reservation on Easter and were able to be squeezed in. Food was excellent, server was prompt and friendly. This was our first food stop in Charleston, would recommend.
