The employees here don’t tip their delivery drivers. They also then call the store and then complain on their delivery drivers for calling them out for not tipping. So overall the people who work here are not good people who will probably rip you off if they can’t even leave a $1 tip for someone delivering their food.

This place is very rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate. About a month ago they stiffed one of my coworkers on a tip, they had someone drive across town in the middle of a pandemic then laughed in my coworkers face when it came time to tip, then the employees of Walk Away Stays proceed to call, threaten and harass my coworker at work to comply with their demands. These are very sad and vindictive people, I highly recommend staying away from them.

As the name says: Walk Away!!! While our property had a great location, nothing else about it was even acceptable. The furnishings are the cheapest you can find, several pieces were broken. The bedrooms had NO windows or 2nd fire escape. I'm not sure how this is even legal. Several bachelorette parties in the building that were unbelievable loud and the management did nothing and said they were leaving in a few days. Strongly do not recommend.

I booked a place through this company on Air bnb called "Adorable Carriage House for 2" at 227 Rutledge Ave D. in Charleston, SC and it has been horrible. First of all, the customer service response was great when I could not get in the unit and replied right away. However, this unit was moldy - very obvious to anyone with a smeller and especially for someone who has mold sensitivities. I started getting a head ache immediately. When I texted the same number that was so quick to reply before, they delayed and never did respond. So, I called the number and was bumped to someone else. I left the unit as it was found and had to find a hotel for the night. It's now Tuesday and they didn't follow up with me until I called twice today, avoidant of a customer service situation that requires integrity and follow through. Then I got a refund of less than half of what my total bill was. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS company, or this unit in downtown Charleston. Parking is stacked and horrible, as is this moldy place.

I would NOT recommend using this company unless you see the property first. I stayed at 1133 Rifle Range Rd in Mount Pleasant, SC this past week and would not recommend it. The photos they provided on their website did not accurately portray the property's condition. Poorly functioning appliances, bugs, stains on the carpet, trash and recyclable containers overflowing. We sat down on the couch in the living room only to find someone's shoe under the couch and a belt in the bedroom that was from someone else. A lone beer in the backyard with overgrown bushes welcomed us. When we arrived we found we were locked out as they had given us the wrong code. After calling about the trash left over from the previous occupants someone came by from the company and removed some of the trash (by throwing it in the recycling bin instead). They had a pest control company come and spray during our stay. It was probably a good idea as we found grasshoppers, spiders and roaches in the unit. The back door knob wasn't working properly, the kitchen had left over food items in the cabinets and greasy pots for our use. Yesterday after 7 hours of trying to do one batch of clothes we gave up washing anything else. The washing machine didn't spin out the water and the dryer wouldn't dry correctly. I would not wish this place on anyone else.

Absolutely miserable experience!!!! My group of 7 arrive at check-in time along with ANOTHER group of 9 who also had booked the same condo as us in Folly Beach! This property management company DOUBLE BOOKED their ONLY property in Folly (so there couldn't have been any confusion there), and managed to "miss it" for about a month! Even the day of check in, I was reached out to regarding parking at the condo by someone at the company, and the other group had also spoken with someone from the company that same morning!! One group booked via airbnb, the other on VRBO. They cross-posted and never removed the listing. The two reservations were made about 5 days apart, not 5 minutes, so there was plenty of time to get that straightened out.SO once we confirm that it is double booked, they try and send my group of 7 out to West Ashley, about 30 minutes away with no beach! We booked where we did because of its close proximity to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, etc. Then, they try and get us to stay in downtown Charleston, another 30 plus minute drive to the beach. We had nowhere to stay for approximately 2.5 hours! Just stranded. Then they finally reach out with a property in Folly Beach that they had to find through another rental property company. HOWEVER, they refused to cover the difference in the stay so I ended up having to still pay EXTRA MONEY to get relocated 3 miles down folly beach!!! We had to drive our large group to dinner every night (which was one of the main perks of the first condo we booked) because we could walk everywhere (folly has very limited parking, especially for a large F250 truck). I have been so upset over how poorly this company managed that situation. The ONLY POSITIVE was that the employee Kelsey, who had only been there for 2 weeks (poor girl needs to run while she can), was very easy to reach and was trying her hardest to relocate us. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy! I didn't even receive my entire refund, and managed to pay an extra 150 dollars or so in order to book a place that we were essentially forced on because we had no other choice, at no fault of our own! Very terrible experience with this company, what a shame.

This place was fabulous! Southern charm! Clean and linens on beds were very good. We loved the balcony! Driveway is very narrow, but that’s Charleston for you! I would stay here again. So close to everything!

At 493 King Street, managed by Walkaway Stays, we found the following at our stay in the Drayton Suite:

Mike Curry

The apartment was very clean when we arrived. The location was about half a block from King St. This made it so convenient to walk down King St or catch the Dash bus at King & Cannon St. This was such a comfortable place to stay.

We reserved this home through Walk Away Stays and found the process to be very easy and convenient. When we arrived at the home we were quickly greeted by the owners who live in the separated upstairs portion of the house (separate entrance). The owners could not have been nicer and more welcoming. They informed us that there were renovating the outside of the home and if at anytime we were home and the construction was noisy, to simply let them know and they would stop.We entered the home and could not have been more pleased. The inside was very clean and had a comfortable feel. The bedrooms were a good size and a functional kitchen. In the days that followed, we saw the owners again and asked for advice on restaurant and tourist suggestions. They provided a number of options and when we made mention of going to the beach, they offered the use of additional beach chairs and umbrellas if needed.I provided them with some feedback on our stay and suggested that the mattresses be replaced and a curtain be placed over the master bathroom window. They were very receptive towards the feedback and said that they would take care of it right away. It was for this reason why I gave our stay a 4 star rating. Once the mattresses are replaced I would change the rating to 5 stars.Although the location is a bit of a walk from the tourist areas of Charleston, we decided to UBER from the home as it was cheaper than what the parking fees would have been had we driven.I was very impressed with the owners and their home and I would easily stay here again.Thank you for providing a very comfortable place to stay.

We loved our stay at 563 King Street. Amazing location (close to restaurants and shopping), great parking, responsive management and very updated and comfortable amenities. The beds were very comfortable and linens very clean and fresh. Surface cleaning was great but looking closely, a deep cleaning was somewhat needed. Our only criticisms would be that the back gate was never latched and locked when we came in or out. Not sure if that's an issue with how the gate worked or if people were not paying attention to how it closed. Also, the outdoor area in pictures looked like a fun place to sit and hang out but when you get up close, the cushions are somewhat mildewed and disheveled and it just didn't look like a place you'd want to curl up and have a glass of wine. Could really use a little more cleaning and attention out there. All in all though, a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

The staff at Walk Away Steys was great and I recommend them as a company. Very responsive and helpful. My only reason for 4 stars is that the cleaning was a little less than I expected at check in and I feel ultimately that is their responsibility. The living areas could have been cleaner. They did offer to send the staff back but honestly once you move in for a month after travelling, you don't want anyone in your space.

563 King Street was what we hoped. Close to fun, lively night spots, the center of Charleston downtown, it's a great rental property

493 King St was an excellent location to experience Charleston. The suite was very nice, super clean, and very convenient. A short drive or Uber ride to most anything you want to do. Plenty of nearby dining.
