Great little family operated BBQ joint here in north Augusta! I would highly recommend them for catering events. They catered a friends wedding and the quality of smoked brisket was easily the best in the CSRA. If there is ever an issue with the quality of food or service, Robert Whitfield is eager and ready to rectify the situation. This establishment truly shines in its genuine customer appreciation and personable atmosphere.

Down home piggy goodness. Great smoke flavor, fun staff, and portion size to make a big boy happy. Put this fat hunk of hog in your face, you'll enjoy it. The mustard and vinegar sauce are great, my favs, but the sweet and spicy are great too! The squash. So good.

Ribs and pulled pork was good but they got my order wrong and gave me hash and rice instead of coleslaw. There mustard sauce taste like mustard. And the fries were not cooked at all and we're terrible. Worst $32 I have spent in a long time. Won't go there again.

I went there Saturday as a first time customer to get some beef ribs. I order a single rib and a rib dinner. My single rib was basically fat, hardly any meat, the pan was also full of grease. The dinner wasn't any better. My green beans had no seasoning whatsoever and taste like they were just cooked in water. The mac and cheese was so-so at best. One thing for sure it wasn't worth $49.64. It earned two stars because the sauce was the bomb and what meat I was able to eat was pretty good.

Although they were definitely overwhelmed in the 4th of July, they were hustling to serve customers in the order call-ins were received and wouldn't even TAKE walk-ins. The owner took time to explain to those waiting that he only had a staff of 12 that day (a Sunday) and 10 of them had gone to church first (and one had even been baptized!), and that they were going as fast as they could. No problem! It was well worth waiting for! The brisket, collards, green beans and loaded baked potato were stellar --- especially the brisket! The hash and rice was freshly-made but, unfortunately, came out minus the rice. No problem, since we had some at home. All-in-all, a great Independence Day meal! Thanks, Pot Smoker!


I love the pulled pork plate with hash and rice and baked beans. the hash hasn't always been spicy hot but I have experienced it past 2 times I ordered it. I will not leave pot smoker over spicy hash but I wish I could enjoy the total bbq food package.

Good BBQ food items with delicious sides and friendly staff. The smoke on the meat was a bit on the lite side for me, but some I know prefer it that way.

Arrived at 1pm on a beautiful Saturday to an empty parking lot and 1 other party inside. Reviews were solid so I stuck it out.Got the brisket and pulled pork combo, for $22 with drink.I’ll start with the good: Pork had good flavor despite being a tad dry and giving visual impression it wasn’t freshly pulled. Sauces were pretty good; I liked the darker/spicier one the most. Staff was friendly.Brisket was TERRIBLE. Tough as leather, cut way too thick (especially if it’s tough!), and dry. You can see what I’m describing in the pictures. You shouldn’t have to provide a knife to cut brisket and this plastic one struggled. It was difficult to even pull it apart. It’s as if they either a) pulled it from the heat before reaching probe tender, or b) reheated some old brisket. It was like a bad cafeteria pot roast. I left half of the most expensive part of the plate behind.Beans were ok but I didn’t order them; the mac & cheese I did order came after the pic, about 3 minutes later with hot spots in it. Hash looks like it was puréed, but flavor was ok if not underwhelming.I was really excited after reading some reviews and seeing pictures, but it was disappointing.

Been hitting up the food truck a few times now. They are my go to BBQ place now. The brisket is awesome and I've ordered quarts of the hash more times than I can remember. Wish it was Saturday so I could hunt down the truck again today.
