My annual stop for my dessert fix! I wasn't disappointed that there were a lot of empty spaces!! At 1:00, does that tell you something?!?! I decided on red velvet cake, a lobster and a chocolate covered Giant cream puff to go. Of course I had to have a bite before I hit the road for our next location. As a child I remember going to the Landolfi Bakery on Butler St. in Trenton NJ until they moved to S. Carolina. So since I was in S. Carolina decided to go there for lunch and have their famous rum cake. The sons have taken over the business and the quality of deserts have not changed. Very popular choice as the revolving door seemed to never wear out. The chicken salad had the right flavor profile but may have needed more acidity with the house pickles mixed in. The famed butternut squash soup wasn't offered during our stay in SC but we will call ahead before heading over.
