Sushi was so fresh and delicious, and the restaurant was quaint and had awesome vibes! We have had a lot of sushi before, and this is best we have ever had! We watched the chef, Hunter, prepare it right in front of us after we ordered. Gwendolyn was a very attentive waitress/host, too, and made sure we were taken care of at all times. She even gave us suggestions for places to visit since we are from out of town. We will definitely be back to Pier 22!

Outstanding sushi!! We can’t say enough about how good it was!

I am so happy pier 22 moved into the neighborhood. Im very picky when it come to sushi and I've never left dissatisfied. If you want to eat outside on the weekend it's best to make a reservation and request that. Otherwise, you'll be sitting at the high tops or bar. I personally like sitting at the bar. The sushi chef gave us samples and allowed us to try new things.

Great service, and tasty food! We really enjoyed the rolls we ordered. And as someone with a gluten intolerance, it's so nice to find a sushi place able to accommodate my needs, as their soy sauce is all gluten free. Definitely recommend!

1 hour and 10 minutes to get Sushi is unacceptable. What is going on with these restaurants? They are lowering our expectations and doing virtually nothing on their end to provide a good experience.

Everything was outstanding. From the fresh cut sushi prepared right in front of us at the bar to the patient attentive wait staff, couldn't have asked for more. It was evident that some patrons don't understand the level of craft it takes to have one chef hand making beautiful fresh cut sushi to order, but we definitely did and we will be back.

Delicious! Gwen and Chef Hunter are delightful, sushi experts, and excellent company. We enjoyed tuna bowl and veggie sushi. Cant wait to come back!

We drove there and looked for the restaurant. The address given is for the shop next door. Then there was a sign outside that said they were closed until August 12. It would have been nice for them to update their hours on Yelp and google since it is a tourist trap area. My little guy was very disappointed when we finally found the place and it was closed. He was so looking forward to some salmon sashimi.

Maybe be open when you have reservations booked? Maybe don’t confirm them 30 minutes before if you’re taking off early that day? Maybe answer your phone? Also no one working around here even knew this place existed. Maybe the other reviews were just some kind of fever dream?? If a restaurant takes reservations and isn’t open and doesn’t serve its customers, is it even a restaurant? Does it even exist? Is this even real life? It’s a whole “tree in the woods” sort of situation. Starting to have fun with this terrible review now…

What a gem! It’s tough finding high quality sushi around Charleston that isn’t all deep fried in some way, but this place does just that. Top notch ingredients, a simple menu, and most importantly delicious sushi! I recommend both the Eye of the Tiger and Yum Yum rolls. The edamame is great as well, served with a fantastic Thai chili sauce. Highly recommended, I will be back for sure!

Everything smelled like fish. My water smelled like fish. My wine smelled like fish. We couldn’t eat inside because of the smell. We should have turned away but we stuck it out. Service was not good, waited 10 minutes for a drink…we were the only customers. All the sushi tasted the same none of it great or really even good but really fishy. Will NOT be back.

I was so happy to hear that Pier 22 started focusing on sushi, and wow does this place impress. I got all 6 of their featured rolls, plus the bulgogi and a spicy tuna roll. All were sensational and of the highest quality. JuSt perfect! This place is legit and brings such a needed dimension to the island restaurant scene. My only wish is that it was open 7 days a week, but hopefully that will come in time.

Came in on Fourth of July and Natalie and the Chef were AMAZING. I had the best sake I’ve ever had because of the sake flight. The sushi was also FRESH. They talked about how they only open Thurs- Sunday to ensure they have the freshest ingredients. We can’t wait to come back!

My daughters and I wanted to find a sushi restaurant for dinner and found Pier 22 about a 15 minute drive from Wild Dunes Resort. (Sullivan's Island area is adorable with lots of busy restaurants, an ice cream shop and beautiful homes to drive by.) Pier 22's service was friendly and happy and the chef's work was amazing. Everything we ordered was beautiful and tasted amazing. This is a little gem that we'd go to again if we weren't leaving tomorrow...
