“Came here for Sunday brunch with a couple of girl friends. No complaints! Awesome atmosphere and delicious food. Also, loved that they had a few great mocktail options for those of us who may have had too much fun on Saturday night. Our waitress was great and gave really honest recommendations of her favorite dishes and least favorite dishes (we loveeeee a helpful waitress!). Two of us got the grilled avocado bowl and it was light, yet filling and well balanced. Obviously the photo is enough proof that the waffle was worth a try too. Next time you’re on Sullivans, stop in here!“
“Always a great meal here. Probably the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had. The fish is light, crispy and not greasy.I always love to get their basic side salad because it’s just delicious. Simple, few ingredients and the vinaigrette is usually something seasonal and light. The cocktails are also handcrafted and the bartenders take great care in preparing the drinks.“
“Where do I begin? The Darling Oyster Bar is an unforgettable restaurant. This has become my family’s new restaurant to host all special occasions & events! From our lovely hostess, Emma, who seated us and made us feel right at home, to our waiter, Jorge, not a single moment was left unattended or unforgotten.Jorge was super attentive & helped us navigate the menu with ease. He was our captain and seared us into calm seas, our chef special: White Flakey Fish over Creamy Southern Grits.Bless your heart — It was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth, & the chef came over and personally asked us about it. That’s what I appreciate! Southern hospitality from our first step into the Darling.Forest attended to our drink needs at the bar with complete ease, pleasure, and confidence. It’s nice to talk, learn more about the restaurant, and see how it shines throughout the evening. This place is well-maintained, known, and loved. Seriously, much praise to everyone who made this night special!Pros: our waiter (Jorge), the wide selection of dishes to pick from, and the experience of seeing the oysters up close! The cheesecake which was to die for!! I still have dreams about the cheesecake to this day!!Cons: none!Vegetarian options: Our waiter helped us select vegetarian & pescatarian options for the crowd! It was much appreciated“
“Soooo, my girlfriends and I are on a girl's trip and this was our first stop for a late lunch. First of all, the food is worth the wait. All the staff are very attentive and nice. We mostly had appetizers and they were delicious. A must go to spot.“
“Made a quick day trip to Charleston, this restaurant was highly recommended. Service was spectacular, food was decent. I had the fried chicken. Juicy, crispy with the mash potatoes and collard greens. The greens weren't my favorite. Over cooked and vinegar taste. I also had a great tequila reposado beverage. Yum! I'll definitely be back.“
“This was our second time coming to Anson and both times did not disappoint! The food, service, and ambience is everything you want when you come to a restaurant. I wish every restaurant did things just as good as they do. The dessert was even amazing- we had the duck fat apple Streusel and pecan pie… SO YUMMY!!“
“I recently celebrated my birthday at Halls Chophouse in Charleston on March the 7th. My dining experience couldn't have been better. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, from entering the front door where I was enticed by wonderful live music and was professionally led up the staircase with my mother to a perfect table tucked away in a cozy corner of an upstairs dining room. Next, I was greeted by a super nice man named Marty who made it a priority to go ahead and wish me a happy birthday followed by two glasses of complimentary sparkling wine for my mother and I. I already felt comfortable, relaxed, and truly welcomed into this restaurant. My server Kevin, was phenomenal. He made my dining experience wonderful and he had such a genuine, charismatic personality. I enjoyed getting to learn more about his most recent endeavors on his past trip from Paris. Kevin was more than happy to explain any questions that we had about the menu and he also highly recommended the french onion soup that was DELICIOUS. Marty came by to check on our table at least two other times, and each time he would come it was a pleasure to engage in conversation with him. I believe the proprietor Billy Hall, came by our table as well at least once if not twice during my dining experience here. He was very kind and I truly felt valued as a customer at this restaurant. This was the best meal I have ever had on my birthday. For my entree I ordered a Medium Rare filet that was cooked to perfection, and my mother and I shared multiple sides including a black pepper cream corn with a bread crumb on top that was the best corn I have ever had, and we also had the brussels sprouts and baked macaroni and cheese, both which were delicious. The other two servers that delivered our sides and entrees were very genuine and professionally served us. Towards the end of our meal I couldn't even think about eating dessert but, the server that took our dishes away insisted on sending one with me to go. I decided on the cinnamon roll cheesecake that I ate the next day, which was also delicious. I will be retuning to bring my husband here for his birthday in August and I cannot wait to share with him the wonderful hospitality and the incredible food that this steakhouse has to offer, once again. I appreciated the high-quality customer service, generosity, and true humbleness that this restaurant provided to me on my birthday. If you are looking for a restaurant to eat at while your are in Charleston SC that you won't forget, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Halls Chophouse. You will be more than happy that you did.“
“Sat at a high top in the bar and had a wonderful meal with my wife. I had the wedge salad with the haddock and my wife, had the broiled seafood platter and both were outstanding and beautifully presented. I wish we left room for dessert as the lemon icebox sounded incredible.“
“Absolutely amazing meal here tonight! I enjoyed a half dozen of their varietal of oysters and half dozen of the char broiled oysters along with an amazing wedge salad. Hubby had the grilled black bass with red rice & beans and asparagus. Sooooo goood!!!!“
“The food was amazing and the service even better with Clifton! Really authentic place and would highly recommend to people visiting Charleston. We were there at the closing and the owner (fifth generation) made sure to introduce himself - a lovely touch!“
“Food was awesome highly recommend the whole fish! Just as important, the service was seriously five star overall. What really stood out though was that we came with our toddler and you would not believe how nice they were about accommodating him. Seriously treated him like he was a VIP. The manager(?) immediately moved us to a table that was lower and the staff offered us multiple different size high chairs or boosters to make him comfortable. I mean this is not a kids restaurant but geez I’ve never been to a “kid friendly” restaurant that was this kid friendly.Thank you guys for thinking of our toddler!!!He loved the pasta with extra cheese as requested too!!Kid-friendliness: The most kid friendly nice restaurant I’ve been to.“
“Our mission while in Charleston was to eat delicious and unique food every day during our vacation...Chubby Fish did not disappoint!! We learned about it from Zach at The Darling and so happy we took the leap. We had delicious oysters with a curry sauce(sounds awful but was sooo delicious and a unique way if enjoying these beloved bivalves). Husband had roasted lamb, excellent. We observed a table next door enjoying some kind of salad piled HIGH with finely grated parm...turns out it was their uber thin celery salad with tiny purple potatoes and the lightest touch of dressing to polish it up. So. Darn. Good! We ended with non-fried chicken leg...such a sweet, creamy and crunchy treat. Thank you KATE for excellent service and wine selection!!! Totally worth the 40 min wait!!“
“Our server, Chris, was absolutely fantastic! And the chicken was amazing. Highly recommend this place if you want to try something new. The atmosphere was wonderful and the wine selection was good. They change the menu daily and it is all local, so if you want something different, this is the place! Great location too, right off King Street!“
“Leon's was recommended to us by several people. We had to Uber from our downtown hotel location and it was so worth it! It's an old gas station and has an outdoor indoor vibe that is just plain old fun. The food was amazing, I had the fried oyster roll and they have plenty of fried chicken options and great drink specials. Our one knock is that the drink specials and beer pours are very small, maybe like 6 ounces. The best is to get a picture of PBR for dinner. That said, we love the atmosphere and the service and would highly recommend Leon's.“
“Exquisite and delicate food in this out-of-the-ordinary restaurant. The trout pâté is delicious, the gumbo is a meal in and of itself, developing multiple earthy and fishy flavors. The oysters are like velvet. We ate at thé bar and had a great conversation with the bartender. The maitre d' was delightful. The bar is impressivethe place stunning. It is worth every dollar. Merci!“
“We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and we we were delightfully surprised by the hospitality of all the servers and staff . The manager seated at a very special table that was used during the filming of the Notebook .The food was excellent .“
“NICO was great, the house oysters were perfect. We got the house oysters, beef tartare, chicken courdon bleu, and bouillabaisse. All were great but the service really is what deserves the 5 star. Our waitress Mo was fantastic! She was a little slow to initially get to us due to having a couple large tables but once she did she immediately apologized and was there exactly when we needed her after that! Overall, very pleased and will be back!“
“We were excited to grab a quick drink and app in downtown Charleston before hitting King street shopping and came across the peacock. The biggest highlight was the INCREDIBLE charcuterie board. The goat cheese, raw honey, and French bread combo was to die for. Literally will change my whole home charcuterie game from here on out. Our waiter was very kind as well! Gave lots of other great recommendations in town.“
“We initially headed to the sister restaurant around the corner, they were very busy so they referred us to Bar167. What a great place, excellent food and service. I would recommend ordering some focaccia with the wagyu carpaccio (so delicious). I really enjoyed the signature margarita.“
“Absolutely perfect experience!! Tripp served us. He was excellent and was constantly checking if we needed anything. I got the fresh catch swordfish and it was amazing. The blue crab dip and Charleston red rice were also great. Nothing beats sitting outside and being able to see the dolphins!“
“The minute we walked through the door we were treated with kindness and humor. I’m not sure if it was the manager/owner but he was great and came to check on us multiple times! We were offered the kitchen viewing table and thought that was really cool getting to see how our meals were prepped and all the hard work behind the scenes. Our server was also excellent and gave us recommendations. The pistachio mai tai and blonde espresso martini tasted so good! I got the Self Respecting Southerner Bowl, and I really liked the flavors and red rice grits! Highly recommend if you’re nearby Charleston!“
“Located in a very charming house, with very pleasant staff, this restaurant has a great menu. I hate when restaurants have hundreds of options on the menu, so this one is just nice, with great variety. Good wine selection as well. Though the rosé could be colder.I had a traditional but elegant Caesar salad as appetizer and the jambalaya as main. I usually make jambalaya, so I know what’s good, and this one was - though more on the dry side - very tasty.“
“Everything was phenomenal but the deviled eggs definitely stood out. Husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits, though he dove in before any photographic evidence could be had.Ambience, service, food — all top notch and it was a great experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to try brunch“
“We had a wonderful experience at dinner last night! We were looking at the tables surrounding us for ideas and everyone's dinner looked scrumptious. We both had grouper with creamy grits and I'm picky about my grits. They were perfect!! Our server was experienced and very attentive. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we will definitely return several times before we leave the island.“
“Stopped in before going to JJ Grey concert at Firefly and loved the crazy vibe with the whole st. Patty's thing going on just beside it. Hubby had a blackberry Bold Rock and I has a strawberry colada which gave me a great happy buzz? Hubby had the creole burger & fries and I did a half dozen st James raw oysters and the creole bacon wrapped scallops over street rice. Everything was tasty and fast for how crazy they were. We grabbed seats at the bar as table wait would have been seriously long and it worked well for us.“

“Our server Becky was the best we’ve had in our last couple of days in Charleston. She was fast and attentive. We had two appetizers- fried okra, which was a large serving!- and the combo platter. Everything was delicious and filling. We took home a piece of chocolate cake and some banana pudding, both delicious also. Plenty of parking and we didn’t have to wait for inside seating. Great evening!“
“Probably the best fish and chips in Charleston. There's not much else in the menu but the execute it perfectly.Parking: There is a lot next door but it's full of potholes and not well lighted. Just be careful pulling in off of the street.Kid-friendliness: Great place for a family meal.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on the ground floor and there are no steps or stairs.“
“We love Edison and think it's a hidden secret on James Island. The vibe of the restaurant is wonderful, staff is attentive (Ariel was great) and the 1/2 priced Wine Wednesday seals the deal. Recently visited and enjoyed the Fig & Fromage, Bistro Steak Salad and Steak Frites. Appetizer was delicious and both steaks were cooked to perfection.“
“The food was excellent. My wife and I both ordered the South Carolina Wagyu steak from the prix fixe menu which includes a small plate and dessert. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had the tuna as my appetizer and the portion was surprisingly large. Both desserts were excellent as well. The service staff was very attentive. I recommend this restaurant and would return.“
“This place is on Market near the center pavilion. It was a Thursday at 2:30pm so not a busy time. Quick service. Glassware and silverware were very heavy (always a good sign) with large cloth napkin. Atmosphere was a bit art deco a bit old South with sixteen foot ceilings and booths, benches and tall cafe tables. We sat at a small by the kitchen, roomy and comfortable. We had the street corn and chips, a grilled cheese sandwich and a side salad. We spilt everything and had lots left over. The corn chips are served warm - very nice. The street corn is roasted corn, a very light cream and cheese blended sauce and a garnish of endive, all tossed with chili spices. The grilled cheese was on sourdough with a honey Dijon spread, granny smith apple slices, caramelized pecans and a white cheddar cheese. It was really tasty. The side salad has what you would expect but with leaf lettuce, endive, fried wonton noodles, roasted corn and more of the cream sauce from the street corn.$36 for the two of us and we had leftovers. In a nutshell, if you are on Market looking for a spot to eat, give them a try.P.S.They also have live music later in the day.“
“Another 5 star review for Amen. Our second time- years apart- seafood is plentiful and perfectly prepared. Drinks are inventive and delicious. Amen is cozy and welcoming- a touch noisy at the bar. Perfect location for a stroll for a damp art walk.“
“Recommended.Okay, why recommend when I thought the food was only three stars? We ordered a salad, Lamb Shank and pan fried grouper. And biscuits which are incredible. And two cocktails, lavender martinis, which were excellent. The fish was great, the salad was good, but the lamb shank was overdone and tough. But the cheesy grits were very good.So since we had two orders of lamb shank the overall food score suffered. But the rest was good.Service was timely, friendly and accommodating.Environment felt timeless, authentic and vintage without being dated or dirty. So, good there too.Highly recommend.Parking: Parking is limited, and all street availability (on a Sunday night) was taken. Paid parking is ridiculously expensive.“
“Excellent local food where locals meet for business and chatting. Very fresh and local produces. I had crab cake for lunch on a bed with chorizo and vegetables on aioli spicy sauce. Also fried local oysters where delicious and Arnold Palmer unsweetened team super “
“A few girlfriends and I had a wonderful evening at Sermet’s tonight— the food was DIVINE. The ambiance in the courtyard with Keith Miller’s music couldn’t have been better. Our waitress was perfectly attentive and pleasant, too. We’re already planning our next dinner back.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free accommodations“
“From exquisite presentation to unparalleled freshness, every bite is a symphony of flavors. The ingredients were fresh, the dining ambiance was intimate and the wine pairings were perfect! The omakase experience is a masterpiece of tradition and innovation, leaving you craving more. A must-visit for oyster and raw fish aficionados seeking luxury and impeccable service. We can’t wait to go back!!“
“An excellent experience! I had the grilled Seafood Platter and it was perfect and delicious. There were six of us and each entree was beautifully prepared and plated. Our server was knowledgeable, pleasant, and attentive. A local gem!Dietary restrictions: Server was very knowledgeable about Gluten free options.“
“My original review is from Feb. 2023.Hands down this is my fav restaurantThis was my favorite restaurant in Mt Pleasant and the surrounding area. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely amazing! If you like pork I suggest:THICK CUT PORK CHOP w/ RUSTIC PAN SAUCEAbsolutely the best!!!“
“Great place with friendly staff and good food. We split the chopped salad, 3 dips with tortilla chips, and a cheeseburger. All of the food was fresh and quite tasty. Loved the "half moon" fries! Our server was so nice and friendly. I wish I could remember the lads name. He had a great sense of humor and anticipated our next needs and wants. Exceptional service and Tasty food.“
“I was in town for work and went to Hymans for dinner on a Wednesday night at the recommendation of a local. Food was fantastic. Complimentary hush puppies. We got crab soup, salmon croquettes, and fried shrimp tacos, and they were all delicious. Clifton h's service was SUPERB and even though it was busy, he kept us entertained and fed. Great experience, and will absolutely return on my next trip into town.“
“I've been here several times now, the workers definitely recognize me haha. I've brought in different friends each time and hopefully I'll be able to bring my bf here one day when it comes down to Charleston. Every time I come here the food is delicious! I will for sure be coming here or ordering take out from here once a month at the very least! These photos are from the times I've come here and tried something different.“
“Maybe we ordered the wrong items but the food was not that wonderful. It wasn’t horrible but I don’t think I would visit again. The mashed potatoes were very salty and the sandwich was just OK. It has a good rating so again, maybe it was what was ordered?“
“Excellent seafood, perfectly prepared, and reasonably priced. The hostess was personable and attentive while we waited a few minutes for a table, the bar out back has a fantastic view of the river and docks, and the service was top notch. All around, cannot go wrong. To top it off, some Netflix TV series nostalgia…awesome! We loved our experience at The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene.Parking: The parking lot is a small-ish dirt lot. We did not have any difficulty getting a spot at 7 pm on a Saturday night. I would say the parking is perfect for the restaurant- it is ample and keeps the overall fit and feel of the restaurant on point.“
“In a foodie city like Charleston, Coda Del Pesce stands at the top of the pack all its own. Always great food, lovely service and a gorgeous restaurant both inside and out -- heck of a view at sunset. Can be a bit pricey but worth it! (PS: I miss Trattoria Lucca every single day)“
“Dave’s take out may be a small and simple restaurant but the customer service and food is AMAZING! The food was truly like a home cooked meal and Dave was the nicest person we encountered our whole trip. The scallops were mouth watering. We couldn’t get enough. If you’re in town can’t suggest this place enough!“
“Really liked how the upstairs bar has raised its game and has a better menu than in previous trips. Great service and attentiveness from the bartenders. We were celebrating an engagement and appreciated the after dinner complimentary champagne! Would definitely recommend again, delicious food!“
“This was actually my first time visiting Rappahannock oyster bar! Our friends have raved about it. I have to say the oysters were so fresh and delicious, the scallops were outstanding, and even the fish and chips were delicious with a nice crisp batter. This place is definitely in the running for my top Seafood destination!“
“I’m so happy my fiancé found this place! This beautiful place made up for an awful experience we had (from the mediocre place called Taco Boy in Folly). Ellis Creek was perfect because we have a little dog and they have dog menu options, how adorable and just thoughtful for pet owners ❤️ The outdoor seating view is just relaxing and lovely! I definitely recommend this place especially if you have fur babies ? from the sweet lady navigating the entrance parking lot up to the servers, your customer service is TOP NOTCH! ? Food is delicious ? we appreciate you all, thank you! ?“
“We stopped by for dinner while on vacation and turns out it was bingo night! We had a blast and the service was top notch. Very friendly server and bingo ladies! Fish tacos were bomb! Same with the margaritas! Will definitely be back next time we are in town!“
“If you looked up “great local seafood joint” in the dictionary, there’d be a color picture of Fish Camp. Not a lot of parking, but we did find space on a Tuesday for late lunch behind the post office in the beach lot. Plenty of golf cart parking right by the door, and space to dine inside or out. Mattie was an enthusiastic server, with both a great attitude knowledge of the menu. Sullivan’s Fish Camp is heading into its third season, she told us it was just Sullivan’s for 30 years before that. We had hoped for market price fresh fish, but had to pass on the Yellow Tile Fish because the Google told us there’s a warning out for Mercury content. Jeanette had the Fish and Chips, (beer battered local catch, coleslaw, pickled green tomato tartar, lemon- $24) and I had Swordfish al pastor Tacos, (fresh tortillas, salsa verde, charred pineapple, cabbage, and a wonderful street corn that wasn’t on the menu- $22). I paired the tacos with a couple of pints of Sullivan’s Crab Claw beer- an exclusive from Westbrook for Sullivan’s. 5% ABV and very approachable. If you’re out this way, it’s definitely worth a stop.“
