“This little jewel offers really tasty food, great service and great prices. We had various tacos with refried beans and grilled green onions. Everything was so flavorful. The owner, Erica is delightful and so welcoming. We sat on the colorful patio enjoying a light breeze. We will be going back to sample the enchiladas. We enjoy funky out of the way eating adventures.Great job, Erica. Cathy.“
“10/10 always! Since I moved away it is so hard to find GOOD Mexican food that isn't outrageously expensive and for this el cerro will always hold a special place in my heart. (You really don't know what you've got til it's gone) Free chips and salsa which is always a plus. Delicious queso and HEAPING portions (this was lunch portioning). Large drink selection, A+ margs, quick friendly staff members, and a good vibe for whatever kind of day you're having. What's not to enjoy????“
“Group came for Taco Tuesday and all of our food, drinks and service were great The bang bang shrimp tacos are perfect!! Anna Grace was so attentive and Sara tne bartender makes a yummy margarita. Been here several times and it stays consistent with quality and service. Really like the "llama".“
“My wife had the Chile con Carne and I had the Nachos Los Cabos. It was good but the service was a little slow. My wife had eaten her meal before I got mine. Overall a good place for a bite. Some prices are a bit high considering the item. Please try for yourself !“
“Food was excellent, reasonably priced. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We ate there for lunch, and there appeared to be only 2 waitresses on duty. Ours was pleasant and courteous, but the restaurant was fairly crowded, and service was extremely slow. It took a very long time to give our orders, receive our food and even longer to pay for it. I do not blame our waitress for this, but it appeared to be an issue of not enough wait staff. Not sure we will return, as this did not leave a great impression for our first visit.“
“Even though it was a full house on a Friday night our take-out order was done sooner than they predicted. We had the Sun City cheese dip (excellent), shrimp taco (perfection) & mahi taco (fantastic).Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, radish garnish and large portions made for the most amazing meal.We can't wait to go back for the dine in experience!!“
“Amazing family owned and operated restaurant! We visited on 03/03/24 and had great carne asada, tacos, and salad! It was also my birthday and they brought out a slice of cake which was very delicious as well. The lemonade and mango drink were refreshing and made with just the right amount of sweetness! Affordable prices, in a good location with lots of parking. The mom who owns the restaurant is a sweetheart, and an amazing chef! Must visit when you are coming to Myrtle Beach!“
“Stopped here to eat before I left Myrtle Beach to travel home. Wish I had tried this place when I first arrived. Food was delicious. It looked awesome when it was served and tasted just as good as it looked. The prices were reasonable for the area. Seems everything in Myrtle Beach is outrageously priced these days. We had nachos, quesadilla and tacos. Everything was perfect. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I don't think that you will be disappointed. Thanks Tu Taco.“
“Hands down one of my favorite places now. Cute atmosphere, very nice people and the food was absolutely amazing! I had a grill chicken bowl, could not finish it. I also had taco with chicken( onions/ cilantro). Had a margarita mocktail, the mix was perfect, one of the best around. They have happy hour from 4-6!!!“
“As authentic as you can get. From the menu being in Spanish, with English translation, to the grilled peppers and onions that come with your plate. This place is terrific.I grew up in Southern AZ but far from the border, so I'm very picky about my Mexican food. This place is my go-to spot.On weekends, they even have a taco truck running late in the parking lot for those late night cravings.“
“Interesting place. I would like to know what to order, as there was a bit of a communication issue. But that aside the place was clean food good and I look forward to doing the buffet sometime soon. We went in for Birria tacos but didn't see them on the menu. We did indeed order some and they were very delicious. Good service too. We'll be back“
“Just go!! First impression, we got there about 6 pm on a Sunday and there was maybe 2 other tables there and we thought of leaving because how empty it was. We went in and were kindly treated, and it smelled good! They have good sized portions, that were amazing! And the chips and salsa hit the spot!I got the Quessa- barria, definitely a must try, great flavor and tender meat.Husband got the quesadilla- fajita with steak, and it was juice and tender and the peppers had the best taste.Kids meals were good sized and very good too!I think it may have been the owner stopped by a few times to make sure it was to our liking, go give it a try!“
“Taqueria Guanajuato is hands down my favorite Mexican spot in all of Horry and personally the best that I know of in SC. Their campechanos are slamming, I also like their sopes and burritos. On top of that I have been eating there for a few years now and they always try to be helpful and nice, they also recently expanded the dining area so you can sit with your family or friends.“
“Absolutely wonderful, would give them more than five stars if I could. First off, everything is handmade and made-to-order—guacamole, queso dip, tortillas, chips, everything fresh and made with love. Tacos were incredible, they don’t try to dress things up with fixin’s and instead rely on the quality of the protein, the barbacoa was absolutely out of this world. Hands down best Mexican I’ve had in years, and we will be back.Parking: Full parking lot on the side of the building.Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring kids.“
“While on vacation my family and I happened upon this restaurant. Some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in about 5-6 years since living in Colorado! (We are now living in Raleigh, NC and it’s a bit sad what’s offered as “Mexican”). Highly recommend a meal or two here while in Myrtle Beach. And the house margarita hit the spot!“
“To say it's difficult to find authentic Mexican food in Myrtle is an understatement. This place is just as legit as a border town in Texas or Arizona. Little street tacos with a big selection of delicious meats. They have carnitas prepared just right, carne asada (steak) with great marinade, and their green salsa is hotter than the red, which is the way it should be. Tortillas are hand made (hecho a mano) at the restaurant, and the rice is like my tia (aunt) used to make. I could only try so much in one visit, but with the restaurant being right by the airport, I am eating there every time I fly in. If you're local to Myrtle, do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll get some delicious food just like you'd get on a vacay to Mexico. Delicioso!“
“Excellent Authentic Mexican food!! The Burrito was amazing, as was the taco' and fajitas!! The shrimp cocktail (Mexican) was at least 30 medium size shrimp! Highly recommend this restaurant. They are the real deal, however they do not speak English so be aware that you may have a language barrier, although I believe that they understand English.“
“I have eaten here for almost ten years. I get take out atleast twice a month and the food is always spot on. They sometimes have up to 5 different salsas/sauces something I’ve never come across any other Mexican diner. The ladies in back even make the tortillas FROM SCRATCH! Horchata is 10/10 lick the bottom of the cup clean good! One sope is almost enough to fill you up. Nice big portions.“
“The chips and salsa were amazing! I was sure the food would be great and it was probably some of the best food I’ve ever had! The drinks are great and will totally come back any day! Highly suggest coming to this restaurant because it’s amazing everything! Words can’t describe how good it was! Also it was very clean and the bathrooms were pretty good to! The tables could hold many people and lots of room for everything! Love this place and can’t wait to come back! Well decorated and just AWESOME!!!!!!! If your still reading come here NOW! It is the best Mexican restaurant EVER! They also played delightful music! LOVE THIS PLACE AND FOOD SOOOO MUCH!!! EAT HERE!!!!“
“laPoblanita was one of the best Mexican Restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was authentic just like the reviews stated. My entrée (fajita) came out just like the picture how often does that happen?? Our Waitress was so pleasant and answered all of our questions about the menu.“
“Found this gem by mistake and I'm absolutely THRILLED because my family and I LOVE it here!Everything on the menu is phenomenal so we come here every few weeks from Conway! This is easily one of my favorite places to eat.. totally worth the traffic and swing-bridge!“
“Had the Love You Long Time Taco and the Kahuna Taco, the Peter's Pickled Peppers along with the Hipponachomous Nachos. Tacos and Peppers were amazing (ranch was on-point)! The nachos were good for sure, but the chicken and the beef didn't seem very well seasoned....I think they would've been amazing if the meats were more seasoned.“
“Ohmygosh, I have FINALLY found a very good Carnitas Burrito! Their refried beans were pureed and bland, and I wasn't a fan of the salsa, but that's okay, they have tons of other things on their menu that I can't wait to try. The food is Central American - Honduras I think, so not really Mexican food, but it's the closest you will find in Myrtle Beach, haha. We will be back!“
“If you are in Bossier, this is a must do. Definitely the best food I've had in all my years of coming here. Tiara, the lovely lady behind the counter, helped me through the menu since it was my first time there. She recommended the combination plate, and I'm so glad she did. I was going to take my dinner to go, but the ambiance was so friendly, I decided to stay and eat there. The combination plate had grilled shrimp, steak, and chicken with fajita style peppers and onions, freshly made pico, lettuce, refried beans, and rice. It was served with homemade warm corn tortillas. She brought me some homemade sauces also. So good. I also had to get a beef barbacoa street taco because of all the yelpers raving about them. They were all correct. Get one. No, get two. They are absolutely the best barbacoa tacos I've ever had. My next trip will include a shrimp cocktail. I saw Tiara carry one to the next table over, so I took a picture of it to post. I will be visiting this fantastic restaurant every time I'm in town.“
“The one word I would say: wow. All nearby restaurants had a line (on a Tuesday night), but this restaurant was not too full or empty so we gave it a shot. Amazing atmosphere, it felt lively and unique. Kind and patient staff. Food was superb, with lots of crispy vegetables, mouthwatering shrimp, rice, and beans. One meal is enough for 2 days. Our entire party was pleased - I would recommend the shrimp fajitas.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian and/or pescatarian options.“

From the moment you step through the doors, you're greeted with warm, vibrant decor that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu at El Cerro is a culinary masterpiece. The extensive selection of authentic Mexican dishes is a testament to the chef's dedication to traditional flavors. “This place makes deliciously authentic food that will satisfy even the most ravenous beach hunger. The al pastor and chorizo tacos were great, as was the shrimp tostada. The fish special was also very nice and the prices for everything are very reasonable. All with service that makes you feel like family. The menu is quite diverse for such a small establishment.“
“Definitely some great Salvadoran food as everything was tasty and fresh. Few issues was we found a piece of hair in the stew and the slaw for the pupusa was just abit too sweet for my liking. We came in and ordered takeout which took over 30 mins so I would recommend calling in so don’t have to wait long time. Otherwise, great food and nice clean atmosphere.“
“Large Portions and Healthier Dinner Selections with a Variety of Dishes for Everyone at a moderate price point. You can still get a margarita or glass of wine in the $6.00 range without having to plan around happy hour. My favorite entree is their Sea Bass with Veggies in a Cream Sauce and it comes in under 600 calories! Other favorites are their Enchiladas plates.“
“Not sure if I want everyone to know about this gem. The marinated beef on my taco was delicious, the refried beans perfect, the flavored water reason enough to go there. My Spanish sucks so I know there's a lot more here to be discovered on this menu. Tex-mex. The Empanada was good, the chimichanga was very good and the flan was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Already looking forward to going back.“
