Probably the best and elevated food option in Rapid City, amazing food choices hand crafted daily by chef, homemade small batch ice cream from scratch made daily is a MUST!Sometimes it takes a bit long to get your food, but the wait is absolutely worth it!

Brought my daughter for Christmas dinner. We had a wonderful time and the food was amazing. I can’t recommend the Autumn salad and French onion soup highly enough. My daughter loved the salmon! Service was excellent, perfect pairing with the food and cocktails!

We love Juniper and how delicious it is every time. Our Favorite Restaurant in Rapid hands down. The Filet is sensational!

The food and service were good; however, the pork tenderloin was undercooked (medium rare). I would have liked to have been asked my preference of meat doneness. The halibut was delicious.

My family and I loved juniper from way back when they were near catron and their little spot in the strip mall, and then when they moved to the west side. Their west side location was very cute (although small but it made for a cozy atmosphere). I know that wasn’t the best place for them due to landlord issues, but I am really saddened by their move to the vertex. Granted it’s just my opinion, but it feels like a sellout move. Their food was great 99% of the time, even though $30 for mushroom ravioli seems a little outrageous. But now this small local favorite has fallen victim to the gentrification of rapid city. I am definitely understanding of paying pretty pennies for fine dining and quality service, but paying nearly $400 per year just to eat at a small restaurant on top of a hotel is crazy, especially in South Dakota. And if you don’t want to pay the annual membership you essentially pay $25 just to take the elevator up and hope to get seated in a timely manner, on top of the already pricey food and drinks. The vertex is trying to turn a rapid city restaurant into a destination equivalent to a night in LA. I hope that juniper continues to thrive, and also I’m sad to lose my favorite special dinner spot.

I am giving them 2 starts and i really didnt want to but for starters we have been eating at Juniper since they were out on Sheridan Lake Road at their 1st location. Then they moved to a larger restaurant then to the Vertex. Well I made a reservation about 1 1/2 weeks prior to eating there for 2. We got seated at their second floor right next to the stairs with the smallest table. Really just a cocktail table. (Something like that we shouldnt have been seated at since we made a reservation I expect to get a table. If a restaurant is at full capacity and someone just wanders in that is definitely a table that would be well suited for the non reservation. On top of it being literally right next to the stairs i had to push the table into my partner so i wouldn’t block the path. Honestly it shouldnt even be there at all). We also ordered Scallops for the appetizer and we got two small scallops for $28 - not jumbo or large scallops - i cook and also buy things from dakota seafood i know sizes of scallops and their price. I did feel quite cheated for not having at least 4. They were laughably small for that price not even jumbo scallops just normal sized scallops. The entree was delicious but trying to have two plates plus two cocktails and also water on the table made it so hard to even try and eat and drink. I was disappointed for being shoved next to a stairwell and seated at the smallest table they have and paying $200 for it all was kind of sad. So i hope they get rid of that 1.5’ ft round table or reserve it for non reservation guests…. and also accommodate for the people who made reservations well in advance and not stuff them somewhere just because they can. I really like the owners they seem so nice and i was excited to see how it was in this location but last night was a let down from where they used to be.

Had dinner her with my wife and some business friends. Juniper moved to Vertex and the food and atmosphere is simply amazing! I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. I've never had a fancy salad, and this one was perfect! Everything that came out was delicious and no one complained! The drinks are good also but service was a little slow. It was fine with us as it gave us time to take show our out of town guests the views, etc. Overall we had a great experience and I was very impressed!Price is on the higher side, but absolutely worth it! Will definitely be back!

We had dinner on the opening night at the Vertex, what an outstanding dinner! We've had plenty of good steaks before, but we both agreed the Petite Filet may have been the best we have ever had. Other parts of the meal were also fantastic. Great staff service. Highly recommend going here for a superior dining experience in Rapid City!

Apple salad was good. Beef tips were not seasoned and tough. Husband had curry chicken. It would’ve been better if it had been seasoned.

We are from Virginia and North Carolina sightseeing at Mt Rushmore and the Badlands. We found Juniper on Trip Advisor. We had an absolutely wonderful reception from our server Nicole. We then proceeded to have a delicious salad and chicken curry. The plates were lovely to look at and the chef did a fantastic job with seasoning. We had a wonderful evening in a delightful little venue. Thank you

Cynthia at the front desk was unfriendly and unhelpful. We had to ask several questions about why the large day charge just to eat there when we were dining with a reservation. Also he/she didn't tell us when he/she gave the elevator key that it wouldn't work till exactly 4 PM. So needless trips on the elevator. Frustrating. Our seat was perfect and the food was fabulous! What's not to like about the rooftop where we ate our appetizer! Servers worked hard and in the beginning very attentive but as they got busy they became more scarce. Shorthanded I guess like everyone else. They were very pleasant and worked together as a good team!! The inside dining/ bar was VERY loud! We think it is a mistake to stop taking reservations. We may likely not come back as a result.

Great service! Priced too high for the taste of the meal. Waitress was a complete zombie walking around, could only imagine what drugs she was on. Our waiter although busy, was great! We'll go back for drinks and skip the food!

We had a very enjoyable meal at Vertex. The outdoor options and views of the city would have been great except it was beginning to rain, so we stayed inside. The food was delicious, and we had great service from Jackson. Recommend!
