We had a small intimate reception and rented out their back room and patio. They tried to charge me twice for the room rental, I was promised two servers and all we got was a single bartender behind the bar that told my guests to keep track of their own tab or it will fall on the bride and groom. When my guests then tried to pay as they went the bartender refused. I was told at 1pm the day of the party that started at 5pm that they closed at 7pm that day. I had at least 15 of
I would absolutely never return to this place! I've never, in all my years working in food service, watched kitchen staff and wait staff openly drink at the bar and watch television, eat plates and plates of food (probably for free) all while we sit for almost an hour waiting for our cold dry food
Our party of six stopped by Murphy’s for lunch on our way to Mount Rushmore. Our waitress took our drink order and it was quickly filled. We ordered our food and it arrived in an acceptable period of time. Here’s where things went south. Our plates were delivered but we had no silverware. We mentioned this to the guys who brought our food but no one came to our table with silverware. We waited and waited and waited. One person in our party had order Caesar salad. Eating a salad with your hands can be very messy. We caught the attention of our waitress and told her that we didn’t have silverware. Meanwhile the food was getting colder. After about another 10 minutes of no silverware, I spotted some utensils left on a table by another party - they were still wrapped in a cloth napkin. I went and took the utensils for our salad person. Shortly thereafter, the waitress came with utensils for the rest of us. Then one of our party noticed that an item she asked not to be put on her sandwich had that item. The waitress took it back to be replaced. We had all finished our lunch when her sandwich finally arrived. The waitress apologized and took that order off the bill. I feel badly for the waitress for she seemed to be running around. Maybe this is a product of the pandemic and staffing shortages - I don’t know, but it doesn’t make for an enjoyable meal.
After a long day of travel I walked across from my hotel to this restaurant. I was able to sit at the bar in order Emile to go. The staff was friendly and the restaurant/bar was packed. My sandwich was good.
I'm surprised at the "no service" or "poor service" reviews... We had a late dinner at Murphy's and Vera, our server, was punctual, attentive and professional. 5 Star. The place looks a bit run down - thematic atmosphere? Or needs some TLC? Not sure. Our booth seat had Duct Tape covering the rips. 4 Star for Appearance. Food was very good, reasonable prices and well portioned. 4 Star for Food because the Mac and Cheese was burnt on top. :-(
Awesome service and great food
We went to Murphy's for a drink and a snack at about 8:30 on a Monday night. We wanted to sit outside and checked with the bartender inside to make sure we would be waited on. Three servers saw us and basically ignored us. Finally we got menus and water, but no one ever came to take our order. Eventually, we left and went next door to Thirsty's, where the service is much better.
Food was really good. Both soups (tomato and beer cheese) were excellent, but the mixed version, (the devil's something?) was also pretty darn good. Warning the spicy tomato is ???.I also had the steak salad, steak was cooked perfectly. Kids enjoyed their meals as well. Portions were generous.Only small thing was that the service was a bit haphazard. The waiter was just a little bit distracted and the food didn't come in the right order. Also, the kids food came out last, just small things could have been done better. Would definitely go again.
The burger was delicious. My entire party was happy with the meal. Friendly service, great menu selection.
Try the Murphy burger! It has sauteed apples, onions, and BRIE CHEESE. It's truly decadent and delicious. Their chips are made in house and are fantastic. Friendly service and really big tap selection.
Great food, great service, cornholio and Jenga!
Great burgers and good cold beverages. Great atmosphere and fast service. Wait staff was friendly.
Went here for dinner on my sister's birthday. Outside bar area has a great ambiance at night. They have giant jenga and other games. The bartender was great and our food was delicious. Enjoyed the bacon wrapped bison meatloaf, steak tips and a salad. They carrot cake is house made and delicious too.
Nice place. Steak was salty and cooked unevenly, part was well done and part was medium rare. Asparagus was greasy. The patio looks to be a fun place.
All the stars are for the service. This place is a joke otherwise. Friendly, courteous service with a complete mess of a management staff and a chef who clearly can't manage inventory. The manager did come to us and apologize. After having to make our lunch herself!
