“Nestled between Marca College and Era Style Loft, the feel of this cozy restaurant reminds me of a very charming French bistro at night. I visited for dinner with a friend, and the atmosphere was exactly what I wanted: mellowed-out lighting, tea lights flickering on the tables, and soft jazz (not the elevator muzak kind) in the background. I chose the loaded vermicelli bowl with ginger lemon tea, and it was a well-assembled masterpiece. Some of the best crispy spring rolls I've ever had; I wish I knew where to buy the ginger lemon tea locally. No cheap after-dinner mints here, either, because the lychee-flavoured candy at the end was impressive in its similarity to lychee. I get the impression this is a restaurant that likes to hit 100 on all points, because my visit was a study in service, gastronomics and ambience. I think this restaurant is worth your business, and if you stop in for a visit, I doubt you'll come away disappointed.“
“Been in the GTA the last 10 years and was excited to come back to what was and still the BEST soups, noodle bowls and rolls! Far and away better quality than anything I had in the Toronto area and it must still be the best in Saskatoon. Their base recipes must be very well made, since I have never had a bad meal there .... that it isn't packed from open to close is beyond me! I will be there at least 6 times per month now that we live here again. Glad to be back in Saskatoon ; Toronto has nothing on us!“
“The food is authentically Vietnamese. Broth was flavourful but not salty. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable for what you get. Appreciate that there was a non shrimp salad roll alternative since I am allergic to shrimp. Staff were courteous and attentive. Got thrown off that the owners took over the old Esso restaurant site. “Ordered a few dishes but one was chicken chow mein and thought it came with thin noodles from the picture but was thick noodles, called them up and they made us one with thin noodles right away and let us keep the other as well. I just bought one yesterday and the cucumber spices are thinner and the pork slices were either thinner or there was one less slice. I'm not sure. “My wife won a $50 gift certificate off Facebook from this restaurant. We never tried this place before. I got blackbean shrimp vegetables and Thai pineapple rice. It was very flavourful and cooked perfectly. My wife got deluxe wonton soup and dinner for one - (chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken breast and a spring roll). She ate it with our child and they still have rice and soup left. I have half of what I ordered left even though I took two bowls full already. They really liked their food too. I'm pescatarian so I don't eat chicken and pork which I didn't realize was in my rice. The girls were happy to take it and eat it. Thai pineapple rice is spicy and I can handle much more spice, so it would be good for someone who wants a little heat without too much. I'm sure we are the last people in the city to try this place but we definitely will try it again soon. There is so much on the menu that looks delicious it was hard to decide what I wanted. Even though this was very good I will try something new next time. The restaurant is clean and was about 80% full when we went in. Very friendly people work here. I'm glad she won that contest otherwise we might have never found this gem in our neighbourhood. Sorry no pictures. It smelled so good when we picked it up that as soon as I unpacked it I immediately dug right in, but trust me it looked good. We have many Vietnamese friends and have had many Asian dishes. “We were greeted quickly and allowed to sit wherever. We arrived around 5:30pm and there was plenty of available seating. Someone brought out waters and a couple minutes later our order was taken. We ordered the noodle bowl special and an extra order of spring rolls and an order of ginger beef. The food came quickly and was presented well. The vermicelli noodle bowl was excellent. The spring rolls were crispy but not as large as Vu's in Prince Albert. The ginger beef wasn't spicy which we didn't mind but it was quite gingery, hence its name, ginger beef. The fish sauce could be more flavourful but it was a minor point. The bathrooms were acceptable minus someone else not flushing after they were done.Parking: Business front has very little parking. Parking lot on side of building provides more spaces.“
