The trout is to die for! The filet was perfectly cooked (even though i tried to ruin it with a medium well ?), and the manchego charcuterie was sooo good. The waiter was incredibly kind and patient with my 15 and 9 year old, and treated them like people—chatting with them and answering their questions seriously. He never seemed put out or rushed. He somehow gave us space and was always magically there. And he was so kind when my youngest wished to return a steak to cook more. i so wish i remembered his name but hed been the server for a larger group (for a nonprofit) in the alcove the previous night (feb 16) and he recognized me so that made it feel more welcoming! The only dish that was sub par to us was the fried chicken. My oldest thought it was fairly bland. They said, "it doesnt have the flavor it said in the menu, it just tastes like chicken" but they loved the mac, and the waiter giving us the details on the cheese made up for it. Dessert was great and the espresso martini is the perfect pre or post dinner drink. The first come first serve style of the back dining area is very nice for us as out of towners who didnt have reservations. They got us drinks and basically managed the queue as tables opened up. I was nervous since i didnt quite know how it would work but the young woman and man running it didnt make me or my kids feel out of place or annoying which was such a kindness. We will return when in Chattanooga again.Parking: Theres a garage and a lot across the street, and some small metered spots just outside the restaurant. Though, its a great area to walk if youre nearby like we were.

We dined on the enclosed patio. Service was superb as always. We shared the quail as an appetizer. My wife had the fried chicken, which was fantastic. I had the shrimp and grits, which had huge shrimp and a local made andouille sausage. Dessert was Jack Daniel's chocolate pie which was absolutely amazing!

The waitress was GREAT! But, the kitchen and the manager were not. We waited for 50 minutes to get our food. The waitress apologized several times and tried to hurry up the kitchen. We were fine, until the manager made an unprovoked snide comment that “we got the food out as quickly as possible”. He didn't apologize at all. Very unprofessional.

Our group "The Silver Roamer's" of Canton GA. traveled to Chattanooga to visit the Aquarium, afterwards 40 of us enjoyed a delightful meal at the Public House Restaurant.Catering to such a large group can be disorganized at some restaurants; but the staff pulled it off with ease.I truly enjoy their Salmon, poached on a bed of garlic mash potatoes with asparagus. To top off this delightful meal we were served a house special pudding, & that to was out of this world. Thanks To The Staff/Chief for making our trip to your lovely restaurant a memorable one.

A nice place to eat. Bills itself as upscale but affordable. The food was not really very upscale, but it was good.

Experience - bizarre First my wife and I (71 and 66 years old) were asked for proof of age before we could order drinks ??? Second, we found out that if your stay lasted more than one hour you'd be asked to leave. And BTW, the service is not lightning fast. Third, the noise level, depending on seating goes from high to unbearable. Fourth, my wife ordered the pork tenderloin and specified medium and it came served between rare and still oinking. In their defense, when brought to their attention, they comped it but still... So, draw your own conclusions.

I was very excited to try this restaurant because it's a favorite of one of my coworkers. However, I was sadly disappointed with my experience. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Nadia was actually great and immediately attended to us. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts and when they arrived they were more smooshy than crispy so Nadia had them remade. What returned was crispy Brussels sprouts but with no flavor. While they were already very greasy from frying they were served with a pot of oil in the center, which made no sense. A total miss, in my opinion. My partner had the trout which was a meh- monochromatic pile of fish on white beans. Once again, flavorless and bland. I had the scallops which were atop pieces of butternut squash chunks (would have been better as a purée). The dish would have been a disaster if it hadn't been saved by brown butter. Outside of that it was okay. There was a definite hipster vibe to this place and both host and waitstaff had more belly exposure than I care to see in a food service establishment.
