“I've eaten at most all the fancy steakhouses in downtown Nashville paying big $$$ for a steak and this place is just as good, if not better. Their ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly. You pay for a 12oz steak but it has to be more than that! This was our first time eating here and it did not disappoint! We live in Gallatin and I can see us making the trip down just to eat here. “Good service, very quick. Pleasant waitstaff. Greek influenced food, though still very American. We had chicken and rice soup. Very good. A riff on Greek avgolemono soup without the egg yolk and lemon thickener. I would have liked that. We had a house salad and shared a grilled cheese. I asked for Swiss cheese (lactose intolerant), with tomato and bacon. Again, very good though somewhat plain. My partner had a cannoli for dessert. There were lots of scrumptious desserts on offer. Pricing was reasonable.“

“I've been to this location only a couple a times but both times my steak was perfectly and evenly cooked. Also, well salted that have it wonderful flavor. The onion blossom is very delicious, you can actually taste the onion with seasoned breading. To wash all that down, my beer was at a good cold temperatures and not warm like at most places. “We came here for the first time we ordered the million dollar bacon as an entree which was probably the best thing we had, my wife ordered the chickachanga entree which was really good and I ordered the shrimp and grits it didn't have a lot of flavor but I do know when you try it you have to eat everything with it it needs just a little bit of salt. “Our server was great! He came by our table frequently to check in on us and was very attentive to anything he saw that we might need. We've been there many times, so I should've ordered what I normally get, but I veered and got something completely out of the norm and did not like it. It was probably just something I didn't like, so I don't blame them. Our server saw that I quit eating after a bite or 2, so he came over and offered to get something else for me. When I didn't accept his offer, he talked to the manager, who came to our table to apologize for whatever was wrong with the food, and attempted to get me something else. When I explained the situation and told her it was probably just something I didn't like and not the fault of the cook, she took the cost of my food off of the check. I told her it wasn't necessary because I ordered something I had never tried, but she insisted. My photo isn't the best because by the time I decided to take a picture, I was already well into it.Waffle House isn't a fancy breakfast but it's solid when you go to good ones and this was one of them. The next day we called and spoke to the general manager who in return was very understanding and took really good care of us after seeing the condition of the food and replaced it for free for us!! Though she didn't have too.Being in restaurant management myself, I know people can be over the top with things sometimes. I only wanted to bring it to her attention. She went above and beyond too render the situation right. So thank you for going the extra mile!!Because of your kindness my grandma who is now in the nursing home got to enjoy her dinner last night and she enjoyed it so very much.She had not been wanting to eat the nursing home food.( I can't say that I blame her!!) You really put a smile on her face. She kept saying she was so happy as she hadn't had Captain D'S in forever. So Thank you again!!! “It has been a while since we tried Jake's Place.. I was pleased at the offerings on the menu; fish had hushpuppies with it, slaw available, and of course, french fries were on the menu. I can't remember if there were white beans or not, and I like white beans or baked beans with my fish. The fish was really good with no "muddy" flavor, and the portion was plentiful. Their burger was good. It did seem a little higher priced than other similar food options. What will possibly prevent me from returning is the vibe that I got from the tin pan and basket on which the food was served. Also, the "hushpuppies" didn't seem to have any onions in them, and they were a "sweet" cornbread, which I have never had in hushpuppies before. If these two things were changed as well as the huge potholes in the back parking lot, I would be excited about Jakes' Place as another meat and 3 option.“
