We are staying in Lebanon for a couple nights and found this gem. I love southern food and this is some of the best I've ever had. I loved the atmosphere. It's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone. The food is made with love and seasoning which is refreshing considering where we live nothing is seasoned enough. Was sad to hear they are closing next month but this place has had a long run and we're really thankful we got to go there before it closed. Our son had the catfish filet, I had the sugar cured ham and my partner had the breaded veal. The hush puppies were the best I've ever had and all of the sides were delicious. Currently driving back to the airBNB with a bag of banana pudding and pie in my lap. We're going back tomorrow. If you're in Lebanon before October 10, 2021 you should absolutely give them a try.

Love this place, here for 50+ yes, food is phenomenal (great) staff makes you feel @ home. Place packs out but wait is worth it. Best fried chicken made. Sad that it won't be around after 10-10-21 ... better hurry!

If you want grandma's cooking then this is your restaurant. I like the roast w/gravy, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and cornbread... Oh and got to have a chocolate pie for desert. Everyone is polite and make you feel at home. Great place to eat

Food was good. A very good meat and three. Liver and onions were good, mashed potatoes gravy good, fried okra good and so we're the Lima beans. Rolls good. Sweet tea good.

This was our second and final visit to this restaurant. The place was not busy and had 2 servers . I was surprised to see a busboy, too. Service was very slow.We were never asked about a refill on our drinks and waited a very long time to get our check. We went looking and the other server had no idea where our server was located. We wanted to order dessert but was tired of the poor service and having to wait. Again, it was not busy

Want to have a perfect cooked southern comfort meal? Sunset is the place. It has all of the charm of a long forgotten small family owned establishment. The waitresses are friendly and helpful. I've never had anything that I didn't like there. Highly recommended

Sadly to report Sunset Restaurant will be closing soon, forever. Don't miss this last chance to experience true Southern cooking in a family friendly atmosphere. Everything on the menu is delicious. Try it don't regret it.

I work the Pipeline industry all over this great nation! Every state and town I go to we always search for down home Mom And Pop soul food and southern cuisine ! My co worker and I found this little jewel yesterday and LET ME TELL YOU....... I ordered roast beef with brown gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, cream style corn, Lima beans, and tomatoes and onion to top it off! The portions were huge, and the flavor in every bite brought back memories of Sunday dinner at my MaMAWs house! So delicious, and the tomatoes tasted like they had just been picked!! The chow chow on the side for Lima beans was the kicker! We are going back today and can’t wait! Outstanding “ Slap yo Mama” good!!

This is a hole in the wall place people need to try. Food is comfort country style food. When we went, it was filled with an older, retired crowd. This is a sure fire sign that the food is good.
