“Yall!!!!!!! I had the shrimp and grits with a side of fried cabbage. It was delicious!!! Grits very creamy yet thick. Shrimp cooked perfectly with andouille sausage that had the perfect spice to it. The sauce on top was seasoned perfectly. Cabbage fried perfectly and had a bit of sweetness which was different but trust me a good different!! Service was great. Severs were very attentive. Nice and clean for an antique looking place. I will be back to try something different but I hope they know I’m going to wear them out over this shrimp and grits.”
“I fell in love with place it was so welcoming and clean; the food was awesome please try the catfish sandwich and the Crab and artichoke dip. Candied bacon was good too!!! The wings are the only thing that could use a special touch they were good but need a sauce and some blue cheese to dip in. I just want everyone to know that the service was great all the bartenders we had were excellent and welcoming. I transfered here for a job and this place has been the only place I felt welcomed. The live music with the lady with an awesome voice and her version of "Happy Birthday" was the highlight of the night. Will definitely be back!!! Thanks for a great evening ? ?”
“We were checking out wedding venues around the area and been wanting asian food for our wedding reception. We are here for lunch and we were so impressed on how delicious and quality their food are! We didn't see any catering signs on their menu but just braved up and asked them if they would entertain the idea of catering our wedding---and they enthusiastically agreed! AAAH! what an answer to prayer! And all our 220 guests plus my husband and I were well fed with amazing thai/laotian food, and even had more for guests and our family to bring home! They made our dream reception food come true! Cno, Mama The, and the whole team were so accommodating, assuring, and made the whole wedding menu prep so easy and smooth! We were so creative to how we can allaccommodate all preferences with our menu- meat-eaters, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc! We had spring rolls, egg rolls, and rice/ginger soup with tofu/chicken for social hour food and they were a hit! For reception we had, pad thai, drunken noodles, and green curry with tofu and chicken options, holy basil flounder, and sauteed asian greens. We had sticky rice with mango/custard and fried banana rolls and vanilla ice cream for dessert! And had thai tea with boba pearls for our special drink! All of our guests were impressed as we were from the beginning! It was truly a hit and was one of the big talks of the evening and even after the wedding! It is not often that they serve really good asian food in a wedding- and we were able to with the help of Mai House! But besides their great food, the Mai House owners and staff are like family! They truly and genuinely wanted to the best and serve their best for our wedding, and they definitely did! We are so thankful that we found Mai House! What a blessing and a reception to remember! And everytime we are in Shelbyville- we only eat at one place!Photo credit: AJ Pastor Productions”
“I wish I had taken a picture of my brisket, green beans, mac and cheese, and banana pudding BEFORE I basically licked the dishes... but here we are.FANTASTIC food. Brisket had great smoke ring, flavor, was tender, and the bark was perfect. Best we've had in a LONG time. Mac and cheese was super creamy. Green beans with bacon are better than mine. I don't think I've ever said that before. We added the special seasoning from the table to the mac and cheese, and it went perfectly together! The mild and hot sauces are SO good. Banana pudding was great too!Prices are good. Super friendly staff- pretty sure they were the owners. Blues music playing (we love blues- was a nice change from country you hear at most BBQ places). Everything was clean. We don't live close, but will definitely drive back to eat here again!Whoever is cooking knows what they're doing!”
“We stopped in for lunch today, first time ever to go. We weren't sure, at first, if it was just a grocery store, but a very nice young man directed through the building, for restaurant seating. I have to say, I have never had fajitas as good as theirs, and I thought I was an expert on fajitas, since I eat them so often, and at so many different places. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants to choose from in Shelbyville, but this one shot right on up to the top of our list! VERY happy and definitely going back often!”
“Small establishment with helpful and caring employees. It was clean and the food was not bad. We ate in and had a BBQ chicken sandwich. The meat was tasty and fairly tender yet not smoky as we prefer. We thought the bun on the sandwich was overly sweet for the chicken and so soft it got a little gooey after adding the BBQ sauce. The sauce had a wonderful flavor and the slaw on top of the chicken was very good. The sweet tea was not as sweet as we are used to yet was full of ice and plentiful. Over all the sandwich was a little pricey for the size. We will most likely return and order the family as it is the best bang for the buck!Parking: Parking may be difficult during busy times of the day and is on gravel so it is not wheelchair friendly but there is a drive up window for takeout orders.”
“Authentic Mexican Cuisine. Only four stars cuz it seems like although the place was kind of empty I was getting rushed to finish my food by the waiter and the host and you have to ask for extra tortillas they don't just bring them to you when they notice that you're going low but other than that pretty good flavor the chorizo was a little mushy for my taste”
“Staff was friendly and attentive. Dining area was clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking including handicap. The food was delivered in a timely manner and served with a smile. The food was pretty good with a nice selection on the menu. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite or casual meal.”
“I'm giving a 4 star only because I did not have service there. I ordered through DoorDash. I can say everything was in my order. The food was great it had a very good flavor. I'm not a BBQ person my husband is. The ribs there will make me become a BBQ lover. The potato salad is wonderful. Don't forget to try the banana pudding it's the best.”
“This was our second visit in a week. The hostess, wait staff & manager, Kayla were so pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious! In fact, I ate too much! ? We will continue to dine at Legends regularly. Also, enjoyed the music - loud enough to hear & enjoy but not be intrusive.”
“I want to give a huge shout out to the staff that work there Tuesday 10/10/23 I had a long day at work on top of that Had to see a love one at the hospital was an emergency short story it was a 40 min drive and there take out had ended but they still waited for me to get there and had my food nice and hot ( heat wise) imagine I was very hungry after a long day and they had a long day themselves but they still waited. That is what I call great service.??”
“What a nice find in a small town! Definitely will be going back during our in town stays! Staff was so nice!Kid-friendliness: My grandson is 2 need I say more? Lol they were super attentive to him that speaks volumes in my book! I did clean up his mess, I hate it when people leave a disaster from their kiddos for someone else to clean up!”
“We came in Saturday. Wow!! Words cannot express how great the food is. The atmosphere is so relaxing and enjoyable. The miso soup was on point, and dragon roll is seemed to me as incredible delight in your mouth.”
“Our server was a gorgeous lady with red and black hair, she was so kind to me and my boyfriend as we were celebrating his birthday. I appreciate her kindness more than ever and I will absolutely be back! Who doesn’t love good food and an amazing server! I definitely recommend dining here :)”
“The establishment was very clean and gentleman very helpful. Have not tried the food so far but they definitely have a good selection of joint supplements. Will try the food soon, looks delicious though.”
