“We ate dinner here yesterday, the first time for both. Hubby had the Stromboli. I had the Chicken Florentine. Our waitress was friendly, quick and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. She made several recommendations; my entree being one of them. We enjoyed our meals and the bread that was served when we sat down. The salads were a little droopy (brown lettuce, old looking) but the ranch dressing was very good.The restaurant was clean, restrooms were clean, and table location comfortable.We ordered as mentioned above, hubby ordered a house salad (mine came with my meal), I ordered a side of Italian sausage, and we both had tea. Our bill was $40.55. We figured $20/person for dinner was not bad at all.We will eat here again. Maybe try the pizza. ?Parking: The parking lot is very spacious with lots of ♿️ spaces directly in the front.Kid-friendliness: Perfect family atmosphere and big enough to spread out.”

“The best Tex-Mex in South Texas. I used to eat here in the late 1960’s with my dad after the cattle auction and would get the burger. Today I had the AJ special and it didn’t disappoint. It is the best Tex-Mex hands down. And the flour tortillas are the best. If you’re ever in the area stop by. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Saw a few reviews talking about rude service. Have lived in Alice for 3 years and have never had rude service here. Some of the sweetest people in town. And the food is excellent.”

“We are coming back to San Antonio from McAllen and stopped in for a bite before getting back on the road. Very clean, food was fresh and the employees have awesome customer service. They made sure to interact with every single customer that walked in and we were there for at least 30 minutes, enjoying our meal. Also very attentive. Keep up the good work!”

“Beef and chicken Enchiladas were a must try. Beef taco n Carne guisada was great as well. The refried beans were perfect. Comes with a small pack of crackers. No tortillas on the side. The price wasnt to expensive either in my opinion. Will be going back”

“1st if all, I am very critical of Mexican and Tex Mex food.Along the 281, there are a lot of places to eat called Jalisco or El this or that.I will go off the Expressway to eat here. This place is a gem in Alice.Do yourself a favor and come get these amazing homemade tortillas, the chorizo beans with chips and salsa and of course great Mexican food!I had a Fiesta omelet and papa Ala Mexicana and the potatoes were delicious. A lot of places mess up the la Mexicana surprisingly.Not El Charro. Thanks for delicious lunch on our way home.”

“Very nice drive in, little tricky to park a big truck but it's doable. Excellent chicken Nugget meal with a really good root beer float! Staff was kind, or car hop was super! Thankful for the picnic tables since it was so nice out.”

“We absolutely love this place, coming from AZ mexican food this is the best around here and they don't use pork juice in everything for "flavor". There food tastes amazing without having to add to it. Food/serive is quick almost faster then going to fast food place.Dietary restrictions: As we don't eat pork, everything we order we've been told no pork products are used in it.Parking: This is a busy place and only once in awhile it's hard to find parking but that just goes to say how amazing there food is. ?Kid-friendliness: Plenty of Child seatsWheelchair accessibility: Double doors”
