Family owned which is always a plus with me. I've been here several times and had mixed reviews. The service is always good but at times it can be a bit slow. All of the food is seasoned with a spice, that for me personally is hit or miss depending on what you're eating. I definitely prefer the entrees over any of the sides. The smothered pork chops are my go to meal.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for years, and I finally made it in today. I got the pleasure to meet Mr. Damien and he hooked me up since it was my first time. I ordered the seafood etouffee with mac and cheese and Mr. Damien threw in cabbage, a fried catfish, and hushpuppies. Everything was SO good, the mac and cheese is one of the best I’ve ever had. I will be coming back soon!

Service like all previous comments was really uncomfortable and rushed. The food on the other hand was great. Bbq plate , candied yams, greens and mashed potatoe sides were all pretty decent and very fresh and hot but the Mac n cheese was just ordinary. Brisket was great and the fried chicken wings were done perfectly. The fried catfish filet was very dry. Their cornbread was also great. Limited drink options and not very clean, although it does get very busy so it’s somewhat understandable.

I usually don't do reviews but as a black owned restaurant I had to. I remembered the food being a lot better years ago. The greens were salty, the macaroni tasted like it came out the kraft box, the yams had too much lemon on them and the catfish was too battery. It did not make it any better the lady placing the order had a bad attitude. The red kool aid and pound cake was good though.

I have been Mr. Damians customer for 8 years now, going back to the old location on 360, but it had been a couple of years since i had dropped in. (No reason other than i live and work farther away now). He still has his fastball and my favorite smoked meatloaf is still greatness. Do yourself a favor and check him out.

So far we’ve had their fried catfish, chicken fried chicken, smothered oxtails, candied yams, mustard greens, mac and cheese, steamed rice and gravy, cabbage, and hush puppies…everything was a hit! ???Everything was served hot and fresh, with great southern hospitality!?

This man served me a plate of food that made me emotional. Texas has great food, however this is the best food I have ever had here. I’m not the type to leave reviews, but each bite feels like a hug from a loved one. Thank you for this experience Mr.Damian.

Forgot to post a review for Damian's Cajun Soul Cafe. If you're looking for good eats this is your place. We've been eating at Damian's since they were off 360 in Arlington and the food hasn't let us down yet. From the chicken fried chicken to the chicken gumbo, and meat loaf you will not be disappointed. Not to mention the owner is amazing his infectious laugh and love for people is carried out in his food.Stop by if you're in the area.

Really didn’t like the pork chops or the gumbo. Given greens instead of green beans. Never got my bread. Left messages on voicemail and instagram and no one answered me back.

Collard Greens were spicy and they left the stems on not sure what that was. Boneless Pork Chops Pressed so thin it was barely what you would call meat and it was SALTY. Lastly, chicken wings Weren’t completely cooked. My Husband said they had just brought everything out. I am REALLY Disappointed. Won’t Be returning.

Damian is the man! I’m from south Louisiana and I could not find genuine Cajun food in DFW until I came here. I live in Denton and will make the drive just to come top in for lunch. Top recommendation if you want food that taste like home!

I would like to speak the owner. I attempted to call on an order, at 3 something….and the lady purposely left me on hold and never came back…I could hear her talking to customers…we get there and she yells out “we close at 4”. So she purposely left me on hold for that reason. Although your website says you close at 5…if you were sold out she could have simply said that on the phone rather than just leaving me on hold. This is why is really hard to support black businesses: poor customer service, rudeness, running out of food, randomly changing business hours etc. I saw other reviews about the rudeness..it’s awful this has not been addressed at this point.
