To be honest. Hurtados used to be one of my favorite bbq spots in DFW. Every time I’ve been recently, the food seems to be declining. The birria tacos used to be so delicious!! The brisket twinkies were so good too!! They were stuffed with mainly meat and well cooked. Now they are mainly cheese and crunchy… I doubt that I’ll be returning to Hurtados, I’ve brought many people here for dining in and it’s just not the same as it once was. Even the cornbread doesn’t taste the same

I've been looking forward to trying Hurtado's for a while. I was so disappointed. The brisket was so dry. The sausage, ribs & mac & cheese were good. Don't try the brisket.

A friend recommended I try this place and specifically the Arlington location. Overall, I found it enjoyable, but it's not without constructive criticism.I ordered their El Jefe platter ($50) plus a banana pudding ($5.50) for dessert. The quantity of food could feed two people (or one with leftovers in my case). What I liked: The turkey was very juicy and flavorful. I liked the cheesy sausage. The flavor and smokiness of the sliced brisket and spare ribs were on par with what I smoke at home (a good thing since they've won me competitions). The street corn was very flavorful and my favorite of the two sides. The banana pudding was also really smooth and tasty. What needs work: The burnt ends were decent, but they were too salty. On the sliced brisket the fat render could've been better. There was a thick cap of white fat instead of the well rendered yellow fat that one expects to see on properly cooked brisket. The pulled pork was okay, but nothing stood out flavor wise. I also found the brisket beans to be very bland with runny liquid. Consider draining the liquid or adding corn starch to thicken it, and also add more seasoning to the beans themselves.Parking: There is free street parking but not a lot of it.

So we went on a hunt to find a bbq place to cater our wedding, we were set on having another bbq place do our catering but after having them at another wedding the meat was dry and tough to eat and we saw many guest didn’t finish their food. So we tried many other bbq places in the dfw area and Hurtado had that perfect mixture of flavors. When we went to test taste them it was very busy but it was exactly what we were looking for. I got some information on catering and prices were fair but I was worried since I saw no reviews on catering so I had no idea what to expect. Communication was great and very much appreciated as I was a bride planning her wedding herself, questions were answered in a timely manner and they worked with me when it came to our payment plan which was very much appreciated. Our wedding finally came and the service was great and the food WAS DECLICIOUS! We got so many compliments the day of the day after and so on. Everything was fresh and moist which was something I was concerned about since bbq is one of those foods you gotta eat right when it’s made. I will definitely be using them again and will be recommending them!

I been here 2 yrs ago and it was awesome. I came back today and it was disappointing; warm-ish potato, stingy on the butter, cold chopped brisket, flavor was meh, also they were out of ribs. It was like going to dickies bbq. The sausage was decent though. Idk why I came here when I already know Hutchins consistently has the best everything plus unlimited dessert.

We arrived at 8:20pm and got to order at 9pm right at their closing time. Most of the meat were already sold out. We ordered beef rib and it was very good, strong Smokey flavor and melting in mouth. The sausage is so so.

This is the worst barbecue I have ever had. First of all, everything is pretty much a la carte, which just makes it a lot more expensive. I paid $56 dollars for a half chicken, potatoe salad, and brisket beans. I just wanted a small container of pickles and red onions but the only option was to order pints for $5 dollars each. No option to order just a couple of slices of bread so I ended up getting a whole loaf and was charged $10 for a loaf I could get for a few bucks in the store. I wanted extra barbecue sauce and they charged me $7 dollars for a tiny plastic container. The chicken was bland, not very well seasoned at all. The potatoe salad tasted rancid and the beans were just okay. Needless to say I will not be back. Horrible and way overpriced!

The food was good, but they gave me half the brisket I asked for and didn't give me one of the sides I ordered. I spent $140 and they gypped me.
