I ordered my sushi and picked it up maybe 10 minutes after. The sushi was soggy and the shrimp tasted very old and left over. My order is usually much better than what it was yesterday. The eel suave is extremely watery.

Ordered over the phone at 6:20pm was told it would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. We arrived exactly at 6:40pm and the guy waiter walked up to us and we told him we had a pick up order for “name” and he replied we are still working on it. I waited and waited and waited. Finally after an hour and 20 minutes we realized we were supposed to walk up to the counter and check in and THEN they will start making your order. I was very annoyed that we stood there for 1hr20mins and nobody told us to check in. Instead the guy lied and said it was still being worked on. Food is great but service and pick up needs to be better organized and clear on how to get your food.

Don't get the spicy ramen. Advertised as spicy beef broth. Its literally a $.50 spicy ramen packet that they also add a bit of onions and mushrooms to it. Total scam on the ramen. Its just instant spicy noodles. They couldn't even hide the dehydrated veggies?!?! I get that its popular in Japan but to sell it for $13 dollars when you can buy it at a market for $.50 is insane!!!

Umi is quality! My boys and I love ordering and eating here. Though not sushi, the ramen and shrimp tempura appetizer is a must every time.If you opt for the basic California and Philly rolls they are great for newbies. Some of my favorites are the Jessica Albacore Tina sashimi, surf clam, yellow tail, anything salmon, Roll over roll, special crunch, and Las Vegas roll.You will not be disappointed with anything you order there. It's top notch and I'm happy they here in Garland.

This is me and my wife’s favorite sushi place in the area! I love the bigger roll sizes (each piece) and the pricing is decent for the top quality and quantity of the food that Umi serves. We love the service that we get when we dine at Umi, they treat you like family but also try to stay conscientious of your time. One of our favorite rolls here is a riceless roll called Cool Hawaiian. They recently started serving sake and Japanese beer, and I was introduced to Sapporo which is a light beer. Their house made salad dressing is a favorite of my wife’s.Sarah the manager is always very friendly with us when we come in, and loves our feedback about the restaurant. She takes the time to talk and doesn’t seemed rushed. My wife had been sick prior to this most recent visit, and I felt comfortable enough to ask Sarah for help to do a takeout order for us (my wife normally orders everything so I have no idea). Since we did make it in, I told Sarah that it was my wife’s birthday and she made it a point to come over and sing to her with a special dessert. We just can’t say enough about Umi Sushi!
